  1. No idea and other than ring up I don’t know how you can check.
  2. Only thing can think of is some cabins may have beds that can’t be joined?I think you could ring for clarification. . Top tip if you do have singles have them so the two bedside tables are next to each other and the beds against wall. That gives an optical illusion of more space. I always have two singles configured like that. As a solo the spare is useful for keeping my bag and other stuff on.
  3. You get something but it’s still not worth it for me .
  4. I thought it was very expensive and not worth it when you consider they are free other nights.
  5. My daughter just had an upgrade bid accepted for QM2 £80 each to go from forward inside to midship sheltered. Upgrading to a forward sheltered quoting the rate at booking would have been £110p p so she saved £60 minimum and gaining a midship position.
  6. I never got my iPhone to change time on the either crossings. I left it in the end and just kept remembering how many hours to add or subtract. !! My Apple Watch was completely haywire and I had hide it in the safe wrapped up as the alarm kept going off at 6 45 U K time. Eventually it ran out of battery and I never recharged it. The captain in his 12 o clock announcements always told us the relevant city’s time zone we were in so if you knew what you were doing you could change your phone iPad etc.. I always went by the time on the cabin telephone or from a deck clock.
  7. Reduced deposits and extra OBC . This year deposit was £175 instead of usual 15% .
  8. Oh yes you are a long way away. I only live less than 40 mins away from Southampton so can do short trips easily and have access to parking. Why I asked is because when I was onboard recently I booked up next years. I originally was booking saver fares as I thought as there are only a few to chose from , It doesn’t matter which one I get and will be cheaper. The loyalty sales lady pointed out that the way Cunard pricing works an ‘upgrade’ from a K grade solo ocean view would be an ‘I’ grade inside . If I had booked guarantee cabin there was a chance I would just be given inside single and not even in a good position. I swiftly changed to Cunard fare and chose the insides I wanted. So if you book again make sure you opt for Cunard Fare.
  9. Yes I think they do look good. I have one booked for QV just before Christmas and then next year on QM and again QV. Did you book Cunard Fare ?
  10. Hi Hi it’s 2012 on QV and QE. Just an odd one inside in the middle of the run of ocean views. They are all ocean views on QM2
  11. I loved my sheltered balcony in August this year . It was very windy and decks were not possible to be on but very cosy in my balcony and would book again for a T A . At times could even catch the sun. I had deck four near stairwell lifts C brilliant spot.
  12. Oh I have not heard that one before even on the T A crossing mind you that was the day it was a bit chaotic at Mayflower as the fire alarms had gone off so everyone was evacuated. I was running late so was able to go straight in when they opened up. Those who had been waiting for security went straight back and joined they queue. They just let any one priority check in so in the end was a very swift embarkation not counting the half hour wait outside.
  13. I wouldn’t want to lose the sheltered balcony It was a god send on my August 14 night TA when it was so windy the decks were closed. and like you as a solo I am annoyed we have to pay the double upgrade. I am with you as well that £540 would get you a 3/4 nighter which I would definitely prefer. 3 x this summer they didn’t include B C in the priority boarding anyway They called QG PG Diamond and then Platinum. I particularly listened out as I had been pulled up on here that B C had priority after PG and before Diamond.
  14. Don’t think there are any free upgrades anymore. Not heard of anyone getting one since bidding started.
  15. The problem with their pricing is that they are midship and ocean view ( except one ) so as you say can become more expensive than a forward or aft inside because of their favourable position
  16. Thank you Megabear2 for your insightful comments. There are some quite nasty posts too on their Twitter(X) page too. Sadly people just don’t seem to accept the overall picture. Seems the more the T &C ‘s are explained the more they push back. As you say at the end of the day the the reality was a less glamorous flight or no flight and a cancelled cruise. I hadn’t realised either the small numbers that would actually be affected by the P E debacle. I feel sorry for someone who couldn’t entertain themselves for the flight with a book, magazine , puzzle etc.. what do people do if they don’t like the entertainment on offer ? Controversial I know but I think it’s right people should lose their deposit if they cancel. That’s how non refundable deposits work. I’ve cancelled cruises I had booked ages ago for small / full deposits when I no longer wanted them. When I booked I knew I would loose that money but was happy to lock in that cruise/ price just in case.
  17. My daughter has had lactose free milk on all 3 Queens. I am pretty sure I have seen a range of lactose free items in the buffet.
  18. The only other world voyage / grand voyage in 2025 is on QV to SA . All the single cabins were sold very quickly. QM2 is not doing a world in 2025 nor is QE.
  19. Yes. Not sure what though yet. Probably not book anything except the short pre Christmas jolly on Queen Anne but no hurry really as there are no single cabins to rush for anyway. Doing the South America Grand voyage in January so I guess will need to see how much that finally ends up and what is left for the rest of the year.
  20. I am going to Tangier 2024 on QV That’s a new port. Not everyone has already visited every port. I like revisiting places I know. On my last cruise over 2/3 of the guests were first timers on Cunard.
  21. My favourite M and S loaf is the cheese one from the bakery. I buy my bread there too. I think their value loaf for want of a better world beats any brand for toast. The best cheese soufflé I had was on Cunard. It was really a vegetarian entree but I had it as a starter. I could have eaten several. Haven’t seen them this year sadly.
  22. I prefer Westwards . I did find 25 hour days tiring but on balance preferred them to 23 hour days homeward. It was tricky fitting everything in losing the hour at lunch time.
