  1. A big building with books printed on paper. 🤪
  2. The Happy Hour in the lounge ended because of covid and moved to pretty much every/any bar on board. Celebrity is now ADDING back the separate restricted lounge back for 2 nights. This is a step toward returning to pre covid. We like the Elite lounge but was often very noisy. Cannot see why the complaints
  3. Two things. The Celebrity app is dreadful. Go back and review the answers to your health questions. Something there triggered the secondary check. As said, just save to your phone and his
  4. Bartenders will try to please. We try to frequent the same bars. A small tip or two speeded service and selection.
  5. For those vitamins and supplements simply figure our the number of days you will be traveling and add 7 (things can happen). My DW has some dozen medications. We photograph each bottle with a pill with our phone. Count out the needed pills and put one weeks pills in a container. The rest we put in a zip lock baggie - bring a few extra always handy. In some 50 overseas trips we have only once been asked to see the pictures of the prescription bottles. Also remember there are stores in Rome. Liquid items like hair spray, lotion we buy at our boarding city. You seem to be overlapping a bit. We also learned when on Princess to bring a baggie with a few laundry pods. Do not like the detergent they sell. Don't overpack. With laundromat on board easy.
  6. The OP "could" arrive by 9:30 or 10. There could also be a traffic accident between Civitavecchia and FCO, a flat tire, the ship's arrival delayed or workers at FCO having a work slow down. Why not have a relaxing day exploring Rome?
  7. Canyon Road makes a nice spritzer. DW likes it mixed 50/50 with tonic. As for having the buttery chardonnays we are used to finding in the US, simply put more and more the wineries are either not able to supply the cruise line and the huge orders (with hug discount) the cruise lines demand. Lots easier to sell to wholesalers in each state and more profitable. Also chardonnays elsewhere tendcto have a drier lighter style.
  8. Suggest you visit your local library. They will have a computer that can convert the document and print it out. Happy to assist if you have problems. Uploading pics easy. Our local libraries charge ten cents a page for copies. Best bargain around. I both print the documents AND email them to my phone.
  9. As said there is a shelf on the upper level above Eden. On our last cruise there were always books there. Most but not all, in English. As many as 20 "books". A passenger set up a book exchange there two mornings on a TA. Announced in daily program.
  10. My DW loves gin but wanted NA. Was offered a NA gin on a TA in 2022. Suffice to say she poured it out. Pretty much any mixed drink can be made without alcohol. Those have always been excellent - frozen virgin drinks - to ok for many others.
  11. I have usually not been able to complete my sign in for cruises without several attempts. Discussed in many threads. Turning your computer or phone off and restarting helps many. Deleting and reinstall the app helps as well. I give it a couple trys (Android phone) and leave it till another day. After three tries call Celebrity on a weekday morning and have them do it. PS - to answer your question. Website fine for me right now.
  12. The only things that have ever caused an issue are: Bare feet No t-shirt or coverup over shorts or swimsuit. Dripping wet swimsuit The first and third items are safety issues. And yes I have seen women in one piece swimsuits and shorts that were not an issue.
  13. Have flown out of Schipol several times asfamily lives nearby. On a Sunday because of less traffic an 11am flight is possible. On weekdays unless you take the subway not likely. My rule is that if I need to ask if a flight is too early then it is. Also be aware you might not dock downtown. Holland moving many cruise ships to about 20km north of the city. This adds another hour to travel time during the week. Would rather do a 12:30 or later flight or the next day and not stress.
  14. We always travel EVERYWHERE with a sewing kit, and a small screwdriver and a couple screws for glasses. The jewelry store does have the needed screwdrivers. Some staff are more helpful.than others. Both items weigh about 2oz or less. Just put in checked luggage, not carry-on.
  15. Have always seen a few in tuxedos, kilts and military dress. A TA has a more relaxed and older group. Enjoy.
  16. Usually always booked. Huge balcony with best views.
  17. Be sure to check for local holidays. There are lots of flights from BCN to LHR. BCN is a bit of a maze so download a map. Several good restaurants at BCN.
  18. Opened about an hour after we left Quebec City.
  19. No different than getting it at the pier. If it doesn't work properly would think you would go to guest relations and get it fixed.
  20. I give the app one try, then call Princess and/or my TA. For dining, simply board and do anytime dining.
  21. Have a fall TA. Prices were down about $100pp. The Med cruise in early September was up about $200. Supply and demand combined with the dynamic pricing model sometimes creates bigger pricing moves. My TA has very few cabins available in their group blocks for summer and fall. Said bookings up some 30%. What will be interesting is how many will cancel just before final payment date as most of her bookings are refundable deposits.
  22. Nyer, first welcome to Cruise Critic. I presume you did not understand that FBC is NOT a travel agent. They are a consolidator that gets blocks of tickets and sells those blocks - sometimes for less than you can book direct and sometimes not - with VERY DIFFERENT RULES. In a consolidator block of seats you often cannot choose your seats - need to ask first - and FBC and you are we subject to the airline changing your flights and sometimes your fare depending on the booking conditions. That is the fine print that none of us reads. FWIW, I NEVER book flights with FBC. If flying internationally I have a consolidator I use that IS A TRAVEL AGENT. Also know that the other lines have the same setup. The advantage of FBC or the rest is not paying till later and often saving a few $$. I have outlined the disadvantages above. Depending on if you are past final payment maybe look at booking direct. There are hundreds of threads about exactly the same issues you have experienced. The agents did not explain the restrictions and you assumed you were booking just like when you call the airline direct. The OBC will not show up until after you board but 99.9% sure it will be there.
  23. Sharon, you are an experienced poster. You could take a look at the last couple pages before starting a new thread or better yet do a search using a keyword- in this case Apex. It is not a big deal. Slower ship speeds are being mandated in whale migration areas like US West Coast and Europe. APEX also did have an engine issue a bit ago.
