  1. Welcome to Cruise Critic. You are way ahead of when the information will be provided. Princess will tell you exactly what to do with your luggage the last day of your cruise. Air the airport they will have it in a secure area where you can pick it up. Where at the airport would depend on what airline you are using. Domestic and International flights would have different pickup points. Again, they will tell you where at YVR likely the day before your cruise.
  2. Would be about 4X that amount on board plus a double as the prices have gone crazy up.
  3. Why? Why would you pay in full a year ahead? I would have invested the $$ and earned some $$. Why would you need to book dining reservations a year ahead? Have never had an issue getting a reservation even after on board. Impossible for me to know the times for port calls as many are changing because of cruising speed restrictions. Thus when we might want to eat.
  4. Do an internet search. There are about a half dozen companies that do small group shore excursion tours at Japanese ports. Also go to both the ports and your rollcall. Likely something is already there.
  5. Undergarments are washed together in a special bag. Other items get a laundry marker or are again wash in a laundry bag.
  6. The OP said they would give one child a tablet so no WIFI charges. Bringing sodas on board. One special dessert or drink a day is no big deal. When we cruised with grandkids the waiters simply brought them "kids " desserts that were well beyond anything we would eat. They enjoyed spoiling them. Waiters got nice tips. We never were billed extra.
  7. We have no status. Last cruise were part of a group of 75. We were the only people in the group that did not have priority status. 150 people cruising with people that do not have priority status. Not likely. Most cruisers are couples.
  8. If you email the executive office you need to request the refund of ALL fees beyond your basic cruise fare. These would include: upgrade for cabin, drink package, shore excursions, port fees. Really anything and everything you have paid except the basic cruise fare. Take a deep breath and compose the email. You should come out of this just fine if you do the PT. I hated PT after my Achilles ruptures- all 3. Can't run but walk fine. See my post #87. I would gladly take a bunch of $$. Make that appointment with Chase. You have 10K in insurance with your Sapphire card. Adios and better luck in the future.
  9. Not really. We look at what is offered and bid an amount we would be willing to pay understanding that we might like the location of the upgraded cabin. Thus we usually bid near the minimum if happy with what we booked and more $$ if we booked a less desirable cabin (to us) to get on the ship. What is opaque is how bids are awarded. Nobody really knows and you don't know if there are any cabins available in every class. Late cancelations open up cabins. You never know what will be accepted. We had a $40 bid accepted for veranda to Aqua. And $60 to a Sky Suite. Also a $750 bid turned down to Aqua. Outside or Inside to Concierge usually cheap. Again you never know. Depends on if ship is booked and late cancelations.
  10. The port terminals almost always have free Wi-Fi. I use for emails and communication with friends. Never anything involving finances in any way when using public WI-FI.
  11. Excursions start being posted months ahead. If your cruise departs in early April not likely additional space will be added. Operators are not fully ramped up. You are likely to see cancellations open up space in the coming weeks. You indicate lots of OBC. Is some of it from a TA and thus OBCR (refundable) or from Celebrity. I personally would be looking at my roll call and the internet for tours.
  12. If you email the executive office ask for $$ from your move up and and add ons to the basic cruise fare. Understand you posted about points. The executive office is likely to refund those monies. Not give you any points.
  13. She can indeed scan her passport. Give her your login info is pretty easy. You also as least as of a week ago could manually enter passport information. FWIW, I usually do not bother with the app - we hate each other - and just bring my paperwork and passport to the pier. If you cannot get it to
  14. Agree with same responses, but do you want some $$ back? If so, email the executive office. They will reply as Jim said. Give them your booking number and give the facts of your injury along with the date of your cruise and your accident. Just the facts. No need to mention insurance or anything other that the upgrade that they can refund along with any excursions etc you purchased and port fees. Last, Chase will cover $10K. Very simple forms to send them OR bring your medical info (a short letter is fine), cruise info showing paid on Chase Card and make an appointment at your local Chase Bank. Easiest to do that one in person if possible.
  15. Ask nicely and quietly and you often would be surprised at what you can receive. My DW is unable to stand for more than a few minutes. Hostess gave her priority pases at tender ports and assisted at dining room.
  16. A CVP works for Princess. TAs, even those with big companies, wait on hold unless they gave been provided a direct number by someone. The numbers TAs use is never nearly as long a wait as the regular customer number.
  17. Yes. Have seen the upgrade offer you are booking occasionally. A 50% off offer is a deeper discount than I remember ever seeing.
  18. Suggest you start a thread on your roll call. Will work lots better.
  19. Boarding passes are about 30 days before your cruise. Just figure on about 11am. You get assigned a time. We always just show up when convenient for us. Sometimes a wait. Sometimes a line. Usually go almost straight on board. Do remember the the port runs the check-in so in Italy . . . .
  20. Or your cabin. . . . . or the gym. . . or
  21. It will eventually refunded. 10 days? Not likely. Not to worry or spend time calling as if for some reason it did not get refunded it will show on your on board Folio as a refundable OBC.
  22. We usually get from 5-8% of our cruise cost in OBC from our TA. They do get lower fares as they often have the griup block. Usually book on board and move to our TA. That OBC shows on the invoice from our TA and on the ships list after we board.
  23. Absolutely. The porters have tags with string to attach to the handle. I ALSO write our cabin number and ship on a piece of masking tape and stick it on each bag before leaving home. Last, if we have a hotel before a cruise another piece of tape with the Hotel name and number Printing out the tags, purchasing holders IMO is a bit crazy. Twice bags were mislaid. Once arrived at the hotel and the other time showed up at the ship. Knew where it was with Apple Tags.
  24. Are you asking about the loungers being uncomfortable or that there are just a few? As you said, the seating on the promenade deck is rarely crowded. My DW feels it is to exposed when the ship is underway.
  25. The toiletries are Bigelow made for Celebrity. Some like them. Others don't.
