  1. Why so much confusion? Would simply find out if cruise is booked thru cruiseline or TA. Then get the booking number. With that you can call and verify everything. PS, there are companies that will finance a cruise so that is possible. No booking number - I would walk away.
  2. You will not know until you are on board. They change both by where you are cruising and according to availability. They also varied from bar to bar and changed as the cruise progressed and they sold out of some. The wine bar had a dozen last cruise and usually several in the MDR.
  3. We also were on Ascent and found BLU very noisy. Some ships do not have a MDR kitchen nearby and thus ordering from the MDR menu not always possible. We would not do Aqua on the Ascent. Silhouette was great.
  4. As said the check-in is operated by the port, not Celebrity If not in a suite or disabled you have 2 choices. Joining the rush and waiting a bit or arriving about noon is and almost always boarding within a few minutes with no waiting. Have no been asked to show my boarding time in a few cruises.
  5. EST. Have never had a problem getting an early check-in time if I did the check-in within a day of the opening. Would love a cruise leaving from Athens so I could spend a couple days to really see the area. We did Athens as a port stop. Was a long way to get into town
  6. The Aerotel. Saw the room and left. Very basic. That said understand your baggage issue. Drop off the bags and take the subway into town. Cheap and easy. Just ask when you check in.
  7. You certainly can walk into the dining room with a glass of happy hour wine
  8. Just a thought. You know the rule and are stating you will break that rule. Could Celebrity ban bringing any wine on board. If caught with additional wine or liquor in your luggage, Celebrity can return it to you at the end of the cruise OR destroy it. I do note on a Hawaii cruise a member of Cruise Critic posted she was bringing CBD oil WITH THC on board and posted locations where it could legally purchased in California. Any substance with THC is illegal as a Federally banned substance. After the ship left port she was asked about the CBD and security confiscated the CBD and had her removed at the first port. Posting about breaking the rules is not a good idea
  9. Know it doesn't help you, but always wonder why anyone would have the Medallion mailed to your home? You first have a hassle getting it set up. Then a couple days before your cruise wonder if it will arrive on time. Picking up at the pier involves the check in agent walking a short distance to the box of medallions and handing you your medallion. Total is about 30 seconds and no fussing with any possible charges
  10. Had this before. Multiple items were served on my plate or plates. Was really fast.
  11. Arrange to leave your bags at the hotel. Not likely to be able to do a pier drop off at 9am. Uber or subway to La Sagrada - get timed tickets well ahead. Return to your hotel and Uber to the pier by about 1:30 or 2pm. I note the subway is easy and there are two stops by the church. Find a hotel or BnB near a subway stop - faster as no traffic. DW and I spent 4 hours at the church. Takes an hour to just walk around the outside.
  12. 3 months ago it was 2 bottles per cabin. Think the confusion is cabin vs. passenger.
  13. Agree with Jelayne. Not hard to fly in 2-4 days early and really explore. Lots of guidebooks and have always found transport easy. Makes for less stress as no worries about getting to the port. We usually go on EBAY and buy a used slightly older country or city guide. Rick Steve's usually has organized 2-3 day suggestions. Staying afterwords also makes for a more relaxing journey.
  14. Not likely. Just give the porter your bags and have them tagged. Luggage carts are loaded first come first served. Thinking probably not worth the hassles if trying to get them redone. Less stress to carry on things you might need and drop off at your cabin.
  15. Unless you drink at least a half dozen drinks and you both like lots of cappuccinos and sodas - no. Look at the plus cost, subtract the gratuities (internet if you need it - we disconbect except in port) and other items you know you will use and decide.
  16. Items are either washed in a bag or a laundry tag is applied. Again, want a cool wash do your own. A couple dollars not worth ruined clothes.
  17. Pick them up at the pier. They are shipped USPostalService to (hopefully) arrive a week or a few days before your cruise. Takes 30 seconds more to get them at the pier.
  18. You maybe missed the point. Some people do not use a scooter at home, but want what they feel will be more mobility on a cruise. Many of those do indeed need a bit of practice. The solution is at your local grocery. Try a few scooters and make sure the operator understands how they operate and are able to safely manage them. Some are not.
  19. There in my opinion is no reason to visit Haines. Skagway as you know has lots to see. Two or three days worth. The best way - I worked in Skagway- is to rent a car with Sourdough Car Rentals. Easy drive to Carcross - nice lunch stop but nothing else. Also drive to Dyea the original town. They have very few cars. The border is not a hassle.
  20. Book your drink package on board!!!!! Same with moving names from cabin to cabin. Just wait tilllate afternoon on boarding day. Will take only a few minutes then. Right now only your TA can make changes about who is where
  21. Customer service generally is dead. Princess actually better than most. I as sAs said elsewhere give the app one try then either have customer service do it or wait till on board. Way to early for dining reservations
  22. You are in Canada? Princess would not ship to me in Victoria. To fix the issue is easy- use the phone. I give the website ONE attempt. Then call customer service (same for all cruise lines) and have them fill in the data. Found far less stressful to pick up my Medallion at the pier. Took under 30 extra seconds and did not stress over ordering or a late delivery.
  23. If two engines were down then the ship would not set sail. They are a couple kts slower with one engine down. Too much conspiracy theories here. Cheng is correct.
  24. No bottles. Only 12pk cans can go in your carry-on stuff. Have seen stevia but only occasionally. Was a hassle to get in the MDR. Never on cruises out of South America. I would bring my own as easy to carry.
  25. Boarding is handled mostly by shore personnel at the port where you board. Ft Lauderdale or Miami you will likely get priority boarding. That said, we usually arrive about 11:30 or a bit later and usually walk almost directly on board. No lines then.
