  1. FBC is a separate company. If this involves Air Canada then good luck. Dozens of issues involving them. Really simple, unless it is a BIG savings - really big - book direct with the airline. FBC is a consolidator and many seats purchased through them have very limited rules such as seat selection, changes etc. FBC is buried in all the airline changes . Keep your records. Do things with emails. You will probably not have much luck sorting it out quickly. The baggage fees and seat $ for now probably not worth the stress it is causing. You are correct. I would sort it at the airport if FBC doesn't handle it. They are at 3 days to return calls.
  2. If you book through a TA they, not you, must handle the issue. That is why you want an excellent TA. They probably do not work for a BIG BOX TA.
  3. With a note from your doctor the policy is to downgrade your package to zero proof. It isn't crazy just getting bad information. You answer is on the FAQ section of the Celebrity website. FAR EASIER to do on board late the day you board OR ask at checkin.
  4. The execs at the office note the issue and asummary report is forwarded. They obviously got the message loud and clear on OV. The charge for room service might be a bit different. It is a combo of being short staffed and trying to get a handle on costs. I 100% agree if there is an issue with what is served- let them know by sending it back. With fewer orders, they should arrive fresh, hot and reasonably close time wise. Hada call from Miami yesterday about another issue and was told bookings continue strong. Do not see this one being reversed
  5. Your explanation is very logical. As far back as 1998 there were no "free" drinks to Elites on boarding day.
  6. Aqua cabins are only booked with AI. The gratuities are included and are part of a package. If you don't want to include gratuities you need to book a veranda.
  7. Same if the "cork" is plastic. The policy recently changed. Now apparently $25 if you do not have a beverage package. Sometimes charged and sometimes not.
  8. I certainly hope it is fixed in days. Just wondering what cruise you did your check in? Had a return call from Adela at Celebrity saying they passed the info on to IT and think the problem is solved. Similar messages went out those who checked in for several TAs recently - thanking me. She had no idea why the mistake and was not aware of any issue prior to my contacting them.
  9. The specialty coffees at El Bacio are sadly for Elite+. Drinks are at any bar except the Martini Bar. Go on line to Captain's Club Benefits to see the list. We enjoy the laundry benefit for our sturdy clothes that can handle a very hot wash. Dry cleaning too.
  10. Have him take a selfie and email it to you is pretty easy. I would definitely bring my covid info as you never know what will happen
  11. Some wait for 12:01 and others check in at the pier. I certainly would bring my vax card or a copy as you never know.
  12. ???? And what did you judge? The only important thing is Celebrity sent out information that was incorrect, contradictory and confusing. They agreed and said they will be fixing the situation. I already said I was looking to inform those effected so nobody shows up without the documents required to board.
  13. The DOW was down about 600 points today. Looking like interest rates heading higher and sooner. Mortgage rates above 7% here. Bad week for stock market. As to cruiselines have you seen any news? Last I heard was a couple weeks ago with record bookings.
  14. We went in mid January. Perfect weather. Sea was like glass. Tendering no issue in the Falklands. Two weeks before seas were 50' and National Geographic Explorer turned around with injuries on board. Hope weather is excellent for everyone.
  15. Not sure how it will help. My post was simply to let those that received an email that vaccination and testing is not required for TA cruises is incorrect. Spoke with the executive office late this morning and they agreed website is convoluted as to when testing needs to be done AND the email - a photo attached, best I can do on my phone - is wrong. They are supposedly fixing the issue. Not debating what others received. Simply trying to make sure everyone has the correct info. As you can see this is completely different from what wrk2cruise posted.
  16. The email that I and others received yesterday is completely different from yours and actually sent by Royal Caribbean. Others on our cruise have received the same email. What cruise are you on? The email that is being sent to the Apex April 22nd passengers after checkin sailing states that vaccination is not required and has no mention of a self test. Passengers on TAs are required to be fully vaccinated and show a negative test The description is indeed very convoluted. Have not seen your version. Is it from the full website? Spoke with Celebrity and they are supposedly making the main page clearer AND correcting the email being sent after checkin.
  17. Would think that setting it up would be questioned and since the ship is always moving and changing course how you would keep it on a satellite.
  18. Infrequently. When they show up suggest booking as after a few people sign up the discount goes away. .
  19. Absolutely bring the notarized letter. Chances are you will never be asked to show it. Unless there is a problem of some sort.
  20. We tried with 3 weeks are were told no.
  21. The email you will receive after checking in for your TA is NOT CORRECT. The Celebrity website is a bit wordy. Simply put a negative Covid test result is requiredfor all passengers to board all TA cruises. This can be a self test. Test results can be shown via either a picture or the actual negative test stick (in a baggie please) at the pier. The testing can be done on boarding day or either of the two prior days. Do not worry about time zones. Again - The auto generated email being sent out when you check in is NOT CORRECT. The required self test is simple and easy.
  22. Emails are usually sent out about 3 weeks before the cruise. Strangely not everyone seems to get an invitation to bid. There is, however, a place you can simply access and bid at Celebrity MoveUp. I have put in a bid as 3 months out. Have had bids accepted as much as 8 weeks or as late as 2 days before my cruise. Was told the bids are run by an outside company.
  23. That is likely because you purchased a group consolidator fare that is not eligible for upgrade and possibly not seat selection either. The fare code letter will tell you what type of fare you got. Everything needs to be clear when booking with a consolidator like FBC. That is how they provide cheaper fares on some flights. The rule is -#1 look yourself using a search engine. #2 look at the airline website. #3 call FBC if a meaningful savings book with FBC. If not book direct with the airline.
