  1. Have always been able to order a shrimp cocktail. I ask a few times each cruise for one with extra lemons and 10 shrimp. Promptly delivered. Occasionally in 3 dishes. Lol. Need to be flexible today I also love Creme Brule with a drizzle of dark chocolate sauce. I explain the first time. After that the chocolate sauce appears magically without asking.
  2. Use a GOOD TA. They can give answers and save you $$.
  3. If a Caribbean or 7 day cruise there will be lots of children. Spring break for my grandchildren varies from 2 days to 3 weeks in duration. A TA or similar very few as Jim said Did a Thanksgiving cruise with 500 children that was fun with lots of families. Simply avoided the pool.
  4. When? Immediately or after final payment? Refundable deposit or non refundable? Cruise insurance? In general yes; but certainly not always.
  5. Would not do what the OP did. Too much stress as the OP indicated. We use the luggage service and have our bags arrive in Tucson. Go out and enjoy a leisurely lunch. Too many things can go wrong. We have been held up to self disembark as late as 9:30 when on a TA and 8am when there was a medical emergency. In Tampa waiting for 4 hours to clear CBP.
  6. Simple answer- YES. BUT. If you book on board and your current cruise is with a TA; your new booking will automatically be moved to that same TA. You then need to carefully watch as we have done this several times. Only one time went through with only a call to our TA that it was booked. The rest were a bit of a hassle I do suggest calling your TA when on board with the new booking number so you can verify all is correct. Remember the OBC is $100 for a veranda on a 7 day cruise. You are limited to the promo in effect (doesn't change the perks your TA offers). Maybe not worth it?
  7. Have never seen Fever Tree light on board. Simply be aware brand's will vary depending on where they need to restock. On recent cruise from Iceland is was Royal canned in Europe. Was just fine.
  8. Actually while swim suits would be totally tacky in any dining area except around the pool; nice shorts are ok for breakfast. And my wife and I only wear sandals. Not exactly flip flops as for the MDR it is Birkenstocks with matching socks. Dinner today is pretty casual. No ripped heads or t-shirts with profanity etc You can do a search and find thousands of replies to your question.
  9. Hmmm. Suggest you ask your TA. They can offer various discounts just like Princess. My clients usually never know they are in a "group". It only means your TA blocked a group of cabins - 10+ - and passes the special fare on to you. When I have a large group I contact the cruiseline and set up a block. Specific cabins with extra perks and terms. I then credit the accounts after boarding with extra OBC.
  10. I think if you look closely they have put you into a group. You did not need to do anything and Iikely would not notice. The group is usually shown with a only fare code. TAs cannot give special discounted individual fares. They do give discounts to military teachers etc just like Princess.
  11. Interesting discussion and obviously confusion. A TA cannot offer discounted individual fares. They can and do offer group fares and can put you into a group they have formed. This gets you the extra perks. One of which is usually fully refundable till final payment. Princess does not form groups, but if you got a bunch together you would get exactly the same offer from Princess. A TA can offer OBC that comes from their commission. A booking made with Princess certainly can be canceled, but not transferred to a TA after a specific number of days. Your deposits with Princess are. Subject to the terms you agreed to - But probably did not fully understand.
  12. Same things you would pack for the flu. Varies as to what you use for aches and temperature. Nyquil type items, Tylenol. If you are positive and in your cabin , medical will provide needed items.
  13. So your issue is about an airline flight. Yes. How did you get home? Did you let FBC know about the issue at the time? FWIW it has taken me up to 4 months to get refunds.
  14. Not an issue unless in a bottle larger than 16oz that looks like a liquor or wine bottle.
  15. And several sites using Google search.
  16. The charges unless you are absolutely sure about a discount program can run to $5 a minute. I tried twice and got hit with $$ that were unexpected. I was able to use the regular WIFI and WhatsApp most of the time from Iceland to Canada. In the Caribbean reception much better.
  17. Why disappointed? Are the medallions useful before you board? I am loss prone and have misplaced several medallions. They laugh and give me a new one. PS we will pick up ours at the pier. Lots easier. No stress. They will have plenty of them at checkin.
  18. Which port and what day of the week? You are asking for an answer that isn't possible. You can take 2 bottles on board in your carry on luggage. I also have never been challenged bringing wine on board at a port stop. One person says ok and another no. Could one break the rule and have 2 cabin mates each bring 2 bottles on board? Discussed here is some 200 threads!
  19. Thank you for a good laugh. Yes the PUP points for a shore excursion that was cancelled were clawed back.
  20. Mexico abolished Daylight Savings Time. So LA & Northern Baja on Pacific Time. Cabo and the coast south to just north of Puerto Vallarta on Mountain time. South of there on Central time. The ship will use local time so not an issue.
  21. Hmmmm. Am certainly sorry that anyone is sick. Found the discussion interesting. The reason being that hospitals here are pretty much full from a virulent flu, children with RSV and mostly adults that according to one hospital contracted both flu and covid. As togetting covid on board. Am sure with the number of people on board that some were ill when they boarded, some went off ship and got it there, and some were infected on the way home. Increase the number of contacts with others and you increase the opportunity for ALL the stuff going around. Flu here is nasty and spreading. Possibly because few have gotten fly shots and there was little flu during covid as we stayed home most of the time.
  22. Spent most of September and October in the Gaspe and St John areas. Weather was beautiful. As for drinks - you are NOT limited to only those mixed drinks on the list. As nicely and bartenders are willing to do requests and often with upgraded booze. As for drinks during the day? At home I can usually make it till 5pm. Same on board. Good part of X is with package you could get maybe 30+ drinks if you tried and could navigate your way to a bar. Royal limited to 15 a day on our last cruise. Same for Princess.
  23. The MoveUp site has had multiple issues lately. Same for another line. Hopefully all working next week. The offers are priced on a matrix designed to maximize revenue. A full ship gets expensive offers. Know some cruises today are under 60%.
