  1. Think we can all agree that today this is a really bad idea. Leaving early without authorization will likely incur penalties that would include being not allowed to cruise for some months and likely a fine. Hope the OP finds a cruise that better matches his work requirements.
  2. We had similar on board a Royal Caribbean cruise. A father and two kids came to join the mother and 3 more toddlers. We asked to be moved after the first night. Getting on topic - if the RS is "party central" hope the butler is properly rewarded.
  3. Actually saying you cannot wear it sideways is an ethnic slur. Certain groups at home wear their caps sideways.
  4. Was told absolutely positively no in August because of Covid rules unless a medical emergency. Agree with Jim we did this fairly often in the past getting off in Victoria instead of Vancouver.
  5. Celebrity and Royal set their own Covid policies. They have often been different
  6. Wondering about a couple things. - the food recently has changed on all mainstream cruiselines because of cost and supply chain issues. What does that have to do with the age of the ship? As for being older - really? We love the M class ships from about 2000 as they are even smaller and dislike the infinite veranda design on the Apex and other new ships. None of the ships on Celebrity will appear as worn and tacky as any on Carnival. If you cruise to Alaska in ANY Celebrity vessel you will.have a great time in a well maintained ship while receiving service from a crew that try very very hard.
  7. Yes. I usually just buy it by the day. Full details on the website. Basic $20. Hi-speed $35 with discounts for Captain's Club status.
  8. Lots of ship traffic and those operations need to coordinate to allow windows for dredging barges to enter and leave the port.
  9. Definitely no. After you make final payment everything is fixed. No changes allowed
  10. Late September is the norm in Quebec City. Early October in New Brunswick. Mid October in Maine. Has varied by several weeks. This year St John NB color started 20 September and was still going strong early October. Some areas lost their leaves with the hurricane.
  11. Seems that is the best option for Transatlantic cruises that require testing. No guarantee of when or if OnPoint will be up again. We used them both - easy. No need for Emed.
  12. My DW and I are both over 65. She has several health issues past and present. We are both vaxxed and double boosted. We recently cruised and traveled outside the US for several months. On our Summit cruise many were quarantined and lots of others with nasty coughs. We did stay away from those who appeared ill while on board. Wear masks only when required or requested. Have friends who became ill with covid while in our residence earlier this year. I was recently tested to see if I had ever contracted covid - nope. Go figure
  13. If you book with a TA, are you aware that OBC from them will not usually appear in your account until you board or the following day? Seems a call to your TA is in order to determine the amount of OBC you have from Celebrity- which you can spend now- and the amount that will post after you board from your TA. Also remember canceling an activity or shore excursion happens immediately, but your account will usually not get the credit for about 48 hours and the credits are processed by a different department.
  14. Logging in or rather attempting to log in repeatedly will lock your account for a day or two. Especially with different computers and devices as you tried. Suggest waiting till Monday noon and trying then. I would in the meantime call and get the user ID and password reset.
  15. Suggest you go to the website where the current testing rules are clearly posted as will any changes. If you signed up for email updates on your cruise you can see any changes there as well.
  16. It is always during the day but can vary several hours due to other canal traffic from the cruise planner. Usually later rather than earlier.
  17. Rapidtestandtrace.com. Several Canadian companies as well. Do a Google search. Emed is more expensive than the other companies.
  18. What are you asking? Wine you bring on board or wine purchased on board? Have sometimes been charged a corkage fee for a special bottle brought on board and often not.
  19. How would you suggest Princess hire and train enough people. At home grocery shelves are half empty because of no stockers. Since it takes a year to really get completely knowledgeable how does Princess or any other employer do that today?
  20. You won't know the exact date until either the cruises are announced via an email or your TA does the same via email or a call as they get the the info about 48 hours ahead of the rest of us.
  21. The expiration date is on the box. Not the test stick. The dates have been extended several times but up to an additional year. Check the website of your particular test for the correct details.
