  1. I had did another post regarding them not being on port days and you needed to be in with the kids except for the late hours. Its on the additional post though that it would be running on sea days it shows in his freestyle above.
  2. No worries if you can send them once back in the states it would be amazing as we travel on the 15th and will be good to get a lay of the land.
  3. I read someone from the current cruise that stated the cast of Priscilla will disembark the Epic after the January 8th cruise prior to the January 15th cruise. Who know but we will see. I will be fairly disappointed on the Jan 15th sailing if there is a single act. I will once again only have a single show on board with our last cruise having a COVID outbreak among the Choir of Man cast cancelling the show. Fingers crossed something is there.
  4. I too wish businesses would actually pay their employees a competitive wage that allows them to live and not pass the salary requirements on patrons. Part of the reason I loved Sandals so much was the only tipping allowed even was for the butler. Cruise lines love to play games hiding the true total cost though. Royal you can't even see the drink package and such prices until after you book as an example.
  5. You might want to find a freestyle from the bliss. I did a quick search and found this: Sea Days Splash Academy is 9-12, 2-4, 7-11
  6. Have not sailed yet but was looking at Freestyles for our ship and itinerary.
  7. So I just found this out that while the area is open its not actually allowed for a drop off except for the late night hours. The daytime hours are only for time with parents supervising. Never heard of this before but did find a couple hidden posts in other threads so thought I would just call it out separately. Its not the end of the world but did catch us off guard but hope that on port days where you don't get in until afternoon or you are back on the ship by noon hopefully the kids club is fully open when at sea at that point. Sounds like this was never a thing with NCL prior to COVID either I guess.
  8. Wonder if it was a back to back person who didn't think they needed to get off the ship? Have a great trip though!
  9. Flying in to SJU in January but we have a layover overnight at MCO and we are the first of 4 flights that can make it to SJU in time for boarding. Could we have flown in the day before? Sure but the total cost would have been probably a good $1500 more total. I feel like my plan makes the best of it and if we miss the cruise it would stink but would be in Orlando so possibly just find a place for the week and hit up WDW instead (we have APs).
  10. This sounds like a NCL issue. I am not sure why anyone would point you to the bank to dispute this when NCL should be stepping up to resolve the issue. As you said they even had a record of you not getting them money. This is like going to walmart, it double charges you, and them telling you to go to your bank instead of them dealing with their faulty equipment.
  11. Go to a crappy hole in the wall around you (what American Diner is themed after) and you likely can find 3 mozzarella sticks for $5. You can get like 7 for $9 at Pizza Hut. Without knowing your area that you live couldn't point you to the locations with cheap offerings. I would suspect there is even bars that offer 1/2 off apps during happy hour along with drinks.
  12. Not sure where you are at but Moderno is Brazilian Steakhouse. I looked at Texas de Brazil in California (most expensive location I could think of) and its $64. Around me though that same restaurant would be like $49. Heck you can get a $20 discount off $100 by buying gift cards from Costco. Acting like Cagney's or LeBistro is some high profile location on land is also a disservice. These specialty restaurants on cruises are maybe a step ahead of Applebee's or TGIF (sometimes not even that when it comes to things like Sushi for sure). I wouldn't ever go out for a steak though as I learned long ago that a majority of "top" steakhouses have a hard time routinely putting out a medium rare steak. Once had a waiter at one place say the temp is taken only from the dead middle of the steak for medium rare meaning the rest of the steak was overcooked, I just left it instead of worry about it (oh and this specific I place I even stated I would rather have it under than overcooked).
  13. Haven is the best restaurant on the ship then for her IMO. Just talk with them to start the cruise and ask about variations of dishes. In the MDR you might be stuck with nothing for a picky eater where as in the Haven you can request things.
  14. I will just say the non-rotating menu isn't that big of a deal because there is enough variety to get different things most days during a week long cruise. Plus I suspect you got 1 or 2 specialty dining credits which mix up the week further as well.
  15. We booked on as well. 7 Nights 2BR 6 People $6,505.29 w/ free at sea ($154.88 pp/pd) $5,859.29 w/o free at sea Will it be tight with the kids? Maybe but honestly with taking my parents with us it will be worth it compared to paying potentially more for 3x balcony rooms.
  16. Are you talking about right now this is occurring to you? Did you have trip insurance for the cruise at all?
  17. I dont know policy but the first I would do is verify what they are saying is true. I would look at any possible combination. I think this is the place to start. If there are flights then I would send them to NCL and request you be put on one of them as thats what you had booked with them. I see no reference in the terms they can just book you a day later but first things first check if there are any flights that exist.
  18. I will just add that Epic is considered one of the best Havens because it has a workout room, sauna, and outdoor dining area. You might not cruise Haven ever but thought I would add it in there if someone reads through. We are on Epic month and it would be a drawback if you were not Haven (but the Haven room on our specific cruise was much different in pricing than booking multiple balcony rooms on NCL, RCL, Carnival, and was cheaper than Disney).
  19. So you try to correct them with what the law became where as they were stating your input regarding why it was a thing in the first place was incorrect. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1305898/ "The primary purpose of the HIPAA rules is to protect health care coverage for individuals who lose or change their jobs." Anyways I am moving on from this thread I was just interested in seeing what the issue was on the ship and hopefully the person is better or on the road to a full recovery.
  20. Except it has exactly zero input in to anything discussed in this thread or this instance.
  21. We are there from 6am to 1pm so not a ton of time but wondering what people might suggest? Was thinking about doing a golf cart down to the flamingo area but sounds like you can't get that close to them. We have 2 kids with us 5 and 3 so some things are not an option (like biking).
  22. Except you are: 1) Not there for a week you are there for a portion of the days and on a cruise you essentially lose a day because of embark/debark days (so 7 nights gets you 6 real days) 2) Hotel puts you in a location where you can actually have a rental car easily (watched a cruise vlog where they had a rental but had to leave it an uber ride away because no parking at port in one of the ports) 3) You are never in Kaanapali ever on the ship it ports in Kahului on Maui 4) Your pricing is WAY off then from where the ship is actually at Courtyard by Marriott Maui Kahului Airport 7 Nights in January 2023 King room that sleeps 4 $2,793 Sail away for 2 People Inside - $3,784.32 Oceanview - $4,411.94 Sail away for 4 People Inside - $6,104.18 Oceanview - $6,522.58 I just picked the first random name brand hotel that came up on Booking.com and pulled the pricing. You likely can find a variety of places and prices if you look and likely in better locations.
  23. Is there a location where the ports are listed? What about the Caribbean is there a list for there as well? Ya isn't much money but its good to know so when looking at the bill you know if they accurately put things on your stateroom.
  24. All the major cruise terminals are limited to ground options to my understanding? Or what is an example you have? The main issue is more so that they dont have as many options because the volume of ships is not as great as Port Canaveral. Canaveral is not exactly next to the airport yet is easy as lots of times there are 3+ ships in port so those transport companies can build a business on 12k+ people needing to get to port. MCO -> Port Canaveral (45 miles - 41 mins) HOU -> Port Galveston (42 miles - 50 mins) IHA -> Port Galveston (72 miles - 1hr 15 mins) Some people even fly in to the other airport for Miami and Everglades. FLL -> Port Miami (27 miles - 35 mins) [yes most would fly in to MA] MIA -> Port Everglades (29 miles - 30 mins) [yes most would fly in to FLL]
