Poll: Coco Cay versus Labadee
LittleJoefromKokomo replied to The Fun Researcher's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Coco Cay, however I don't like the aqua park or the big pool where the poolparty is. All the music and "clap your hands in the air" "say OOOH AHHH" from the DJ makes me think of a Vegas pool party not the Caribbean and I head straight to my favourite beach, South Beach. I am perfectly happy with staying there and swimming up to the floating bar, don't need anything more. -

Intrusive Staff in Main Dining Room
LittleJoefromKokomo replied to cello56's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I understand that they want to give us the best dining experience and that they are trained to do so, but.... sometimes we don't like being interupted when we are having a conversation or eating. A good waitor can get a sense of when the time is right to approach a table and talk to the guests but sometimes they interupt in a quite disturbing way. The worst situation I have seen was when a person at at table was interupted when he was holding a speach to his friends. That should never happen but I guess he might have been a new waitor. -
You make that sound like its a bad thing with yogapants and tight dresses? 😉

No need to be playing to get a drink from the casino bar, just order when it is open 🙂 -
February Cruise
LittleJoefromKokomo replied to LAWISE5210@AOL.COM's topic in Royal Caribbean International
This topic made me smile, I guess feeling cold is very relative as to where one is from. We are from Sweden and Bahamas in February is still hotter than most Swedish summers 😁 -
Classic soda pkg questions
LittleJoefromKokomo replied to stipmom's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Yes, that is true. They don't even give away water exept in the glasses. However I made a habit of picking up two bottles every time I passed a bar and on day 2 I had 8 of them in my actually working "cooler" DISCLAIMER: Of course I refused my son to take even a small sip of one of my 8 bottles in our cabin when he needed something to drink to take his medicines, I told him to go get soda instead of water.. I even poured out the last 3 unopened bottles the last evening because I refuse to share my UBP as that is strictly VERBOTEN.... 😉 -
Classic soda pkg questions

I do know that the freestyle machines have Root Beer but don't know if the tap/guns in the bars have the same soda in them. -
Classic soda pkg questions
LittleJoefromKokomo replied to stipmom's topic in Royal Caribbean International
My son had the soda package and was denied a can of soda when he asked in the pool bar, they opened a can and poured him his soda in a glass and gave to him. Another time when I tipped a $5 in the Viking crown loung for my beer the bartender gave my son a complimentary can of coke without he even asking for it. So I guess it depends on the mood of the bartender, if a manager is close by and so on.. -
Deployment 2024-25 booking season begins
LittleJoefromKokomo replied to Biker19's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Yes, that might be the case, never thought of that. -
I can do that also but the prices are almost the same in US $ as in Swedish currency SEK, the small difference I see I attribute to currency exchange rates being bad for us. But this is not really away of getting the true US prices, the website still keps tracks on your ip adress and see that we look from Europe, to get the "real" US prices (not just quoted in $) we would need to change ip by vpn to look like we surfed into RCLs page from a US ip .adress

The 2 night $1340 cruise I was looking at was not in Sept but in May 2023. I can't find a sept 12 may from Southampton on Royals European site. It is possible to change the website from European to American but the prices are the same, although in dollar instead of our national currency. I get the same price as you for this cruise, 1304, my 1340 was my own currency conversion rate. But since Royal can see from where we are looking at their site regardless of what site version we use I was wondering what the price would be if someone IN the US looked at these cruises. From your profile it looks like you are Portugal based?

We talked in the other thread Deployment about the different prices for cruises from US vs Europe and it seems as cruises in Europe is MUCH more expensive than the ones in US. For example, this cruise a 7 night Greece and Croatia cruise on Explorer of the Seas 14th of sept 2024 in an inside cabin cost about $3400. To compare a 7 night 14th of Sept cruise on ICON from Florida would cost $2650. One of the worst examples is this 2 night Weekend Getaway cruise on Anthem from Southampton on the 12th of May, that cruise cost $1340 🥶 Can someone in the US please look what these two European cruises would cost if booking them on the Royals US website? I think that Royal is using geopricing to us European customers

Will definately do that, and also get a VPN on my computer to see Royals prices without the geo blocking of US $ prices. But can't do that now since I am on my work computer... -

I see now that European cruises for 2024 season are on the Swedish website, but whoa! What prices! For example 7 night Greece and Croatia cruise on Explorer 14th of sept 2024 in an inside cabin cost about $3400. To compare a 7 night 14th of Sept cruise on ICON from Florida would cost $2650. I know that European cruises are usually more expensive than those from the US but for these prices it would be cheaper to fly over to Florida and cruise from there than just the European cruise price. Crazy.
