  1. We keep checking and no offers for us in the past 4 months. Congrats to all who are able to take advantage.
  2. Contact congress - they are the ones enforcing this law.
  3. Yes we are and looking forward!! We are the same type of travelers as you - just get off the ship for a few hours - I found the Aqua Spa Cafe for lunch to my liking and the Mast Grill. Occasionally, we went to the MDR for lunch. The only time I went to the OVC is for an ice cream cone. We did eat lunch a couple of time in port in Alaska. I miss seafood since we live in the Rocky mountains.
  4. We sailed on Millie for 14 days in Aug/Sept. the ship was in great shape. We were in 2 different Sky suites. Our room attendants were wonderful. We usually don't ask a lot of them. We rarely ate in the OV - but husband really enjoyed the soups for lunch. Luminae restaurant was wonderful and the staff met all our needs before asking. The Aqua spa is a bit small for our liking (S class is better in our opinion) but we did take advantage using it a couple of times. We miss Murano (our favorite speciality restaurant). We ate at Tuscan Grill once and were not impressed. Sushi is on Five is good. I do like the aqua spa cafe for breakfast and lunch. Aqua Spa is a great place to get a cup of coffee in the am and chill. I don't eat a lot so these places fits my needs. I am not a buffet person. I am morning walker and enjoyed the early walks around the ship. They crew was always doing maintenance and always happy to greet me in the morning and ask how far did I walked today. It was fun to interact with the maintenance staff. We do not go to the gym so I can't comment on that. We enjoyed the interior pool area. The service on the ship was outstanding and the crew was great. We are not casino folks so can't comment on that. The Martini bar was a blast and almost always full when we went. The bartenders were FANTASTIC! We will be sailing on Millie again in April for 15 nights. The best part of our trips was meeting guest that we have sailed with before on Celebrity and will sail with them again! There was several of us who booked Solstice in October and a few of us who booked Millie in April. We are not internet folks and disconnect when on a cruise. We also don't watch TV when cruising. The shows are OK and the entertainment staff was a lot of fun. We enjoy trivia and joining in on the games provided by the crew. We are half glass full type of folks and just like to have fun when traveling.
  5. The biggest difference for us is the aqua spa on the Millennium is much smaller than the S class ship. Millie does not have the heated loungers only heated benches. The Murano Restaurant is not on the Millennium. We sailed on Millennium for 2 weeks in August. The ship is in great shape and enjoyed it immensely. We are not casino people so can't comment on that. The Tuscan Grill is tucked away and doesn't give the views that the S class does. The Retreat class is nicer on Millie than on the Solstice. The outdoor area of the retreat is very nice. We were on the Solstice in October and there was no exterior retreat area. We will be on her for the Panama Canal. Looking forward!!
  6. I miss the Swan Puff Pastry from the days of the Zenith and Horizon but we still enjoyed our 47 days on Celebrity this year. Enjoyed lunch from the Aqua Cafe - though I will admit to taking a couple plates at lunch. Always found a favorite bartender to make my drinks the way I like them. Not a big fan of "buffets" but my husband enjoys the soups for lunch. I guess we are the glass is half full type of people. Hate being on a cruise when people constantly complain or compare this cruise to that cruise. We just like to find fellow cruiser who feel the same as us - want to have a good time, relax, have fun and enjoy life. I guess we might stop cruising if we had a boat full of complainers. Out of the 6 cruises this year - the staff went out of their way to make us happy. Yes we did have one meal at the Tuscan Grill that was not greatest - so we didn't go back.
  7. I like the twice of day service and the chocolates. They could cut back on the buffet as far as I concerned but that would cause "Mutiny on the Bounty". Different strokes for different folks.
  8. Could you ask CC - if Celebrity plans on adding the Retreat Sun Deck any time this year. A couple of us on this board were told it would be added in May. We are sailing on Solstice in October and other guests are sailing on her in September. Looks like Solstice has a full schedule in May.
  9. We were told the same thing about being updated in May. We are sailing on her in October. It appears Celebrity added 3 Alaska cruises in May so maybe the updating has been postponed.
  10. We were told the same thing about being updated in May. We are sailing on her in October. It appears Celebrity added 3 Alaska cruises in May so maybe the updating has been postponed.
  11. I was on the Solstice for 3 weeks in October. They stated they weren't having the Crab Shack Lunch and not sure if it would ever come back... I loved the Crab shack lunch! Hopefully they will bring it back someday!.
  12. We sailed in April from Vancouver to Hawaii and then sailed from to Alaska in August - we had 12 couples from the Vancouver cruise on the Alaska cruise - not planned. On the Alaska cruise we met 3 other couples who are doing Hawaii to Sydney next October. Not uncommon at all.
  13. We will be there too! We were on Millie in August. Looking forward - its going to be a long winter.
  14. We did Millie in later August. We did a B2B. Vancouver is a beautiful city and easy to get around. If you want to add a couple of days prior to your cruise its a fun city. The train is very easy to take to the cruise port from the airport. We did "Move Up" and ended up in the Sky Suite it was nice but not necessary. Only used the Retreat outdoor area a couple of times. Did not spend much time on the balcony except in Hubbards Bay. Services was outstanding and we did enjoy Luminae. Getting on the ship in Vancouver is very easy. The ships docks at the Pan Pacific Hotel - there are several hotels nearby.
  15. The Toughest Trivia questions I have ever experienced. Don't feel bad. Danz and Dennis are fun!
  16. Your Bartender is the best. We were on the ship for the 3 weeks.....we miss him! Ask him for his special! There is only 800+ guest this on your cruise.
  17. I wasn't able to do Move Up offers either. I kept getting the 21 day error code. I contact Move Up by email and they finally added 2 out of 3 reservations for Move Up. The one we really wanted to do a Move Up offer they stated it was to late - we bit the bullet and paid for the upgrade 2 days ago.
  18. I work full time for a large resort. Maybe I look at life differently. I don't sweat the small stuff - life is too short. I hoped your trip would get better after your first day. So looking forward to mine! I worked hard for it. That's why I don't "plug in" on vacation. No cell phone - no computer. Different strokes for different folks. I wish you all the best on your next cruise.
  19. CEC Manager Team-EngagementCenterSeniorLeadership@celebrity.com I would email them and have someone call you to clarify the email you received and that you are speaking with someone who knows.
  20. The Millennium was built in 2000. Did have a rehab. Solstice was built in 2008 - awaiting for a rehab. The reason for the change in ship was the cancelation of Asia cruises. You stated "I don't recall any fare discount of obc offered when the change was made." You had a chance to get a full refund or book another ship. We also booked the Millie and when the change in ship came - we were happy. The S class ship is more to our liking. Millie has her qualities just spent 2 weeks on her in August.
  21. Hope your cruise improves! We have 3 weeks on the Solstice coming up. I never watch TV on a cruise - not important to us. We don't plug in - so no big deal for only 2 outlets in the room. You are in the Mexican Rivera - hot pools aren't uncommon. I bring a spray bottle and fill it with ice water when doing "hot cruises" to help cool off. I rarely eat in the buffet area - so good to go there. I agree the casino is a pain - so we don't gamble anymore - no big deal - not big gamblers. The last cruise we were on a lady won 3600.00 on the penny machine the last day of the cruise! Our last cruise (August) - the comedian was fantastic! Not the family show - the adult only show in the Sky Lounge (it was packed). We actually had 2 comedians on board. Each cruise entertainment can be hit or miss. Complaining to guest service regarding food is folks looking for something for free or OBC. In 15 cruises - I only went to guest service once to help with the Canadian App required form. Our waiters have always been very accommodating to our food choice and have gone out of their way to make us happy. Maybe it's how guest relate to the wait staff and guest need a lesson in how to treat staff with kindness making their point rather than complaining. Every cruise line is short staffed. We have sailed on the Solstice before and had fantastic times. Not lowering my expectations.
