  1. Man, some of you are so negative. Why do you cruise if you hate it so much, let alone cruise on a line you hate some much. I am very excited for this ship! It looks beautiful! And, I'll put it out there, I dislike kids! However, I think the design and layout looks great, it gives families a family area that I don't need to go anywhere near! I'm not sure what some people were expecting. It's a cruise ship, after all, at the end of the day, it's going to have limitations. Not exactly sure what it would take for some of you to actually be excited about a new ship.
  2. If you placed a bid, you get a confirmation email which has a link to cancel/modify your bid.
  3. If no one has mentioned it, you can modify or change your bid anytime before 2 hours prior to departure.
  4. We booked Jamie's Italian on Symphony, on the second formal night. A few in the group were upset that we missed lobster in the MDR lol. So something to keep in mind.
  5. Very aware, hence the "no problems so far" disclaimer.
  6. I think NCL has, what, a 12-year plan to pay off their debt? I think it might be best to think a little more long-term.
  7. I had a similar situation, where I redeemed points and over a month later, they still had posted to my OBC account. However, I found it was very easy to resolve, you can bypass the "phone answerer" and contact the Rewards Desk direct. There's a number posted in previous threads, but don't have it handy. Took about a 10 minute total phone call to get resolved, which I don't think was unreasonable. He confirmed my OBC was showing on my account before we ended the phone call. A small inconvenience, but not overly so.
  8. On our cruise last October, they did have a BOGO half-off sale on the first (maybe also second?) night on-board. And yes, to second not-enough-cruising, even with this price offer, it was still more expensive than one of the times I had priced out the "sale" offers sent pre-cruise. With that said, I haven't seen the price as low since as the pre-cruise "sale" price mentioned above. But I'd imagine the pricing scale on-board would slide accordingly and still be more expensive.
  9. I really love the idea of price adjustment, just not sure it something to be expected. Nice if it's offered, but not everyone is going to honor this type of pricing scale. It's like clearance merchandise, they are trying to unload what didn't sell. I can't take my designer jeans that I bought 3 months ago and expect them to adjust the price based on the clearance priced merchandise. I mean, some business have this practice, fantastic! But some don't, and that is to be expected. And yes, I know it used to happen. We need to accept this as a new model and move forward.
  10. If you get the marketing emails - the Terms & Conditions are at the bottom. Otherwise, if you look in the cruise planner, if there is a current sale, it should give the dates at the bottom. This is what my current planner says.
  11. Interestingly, I don't see an option in the app or website to do this. I know with some other lines, you can buy "cruise cash" with a credit card or gift cards. I think you might be able to buy OBC, but I think you have to call to do so?
  12. I don't have a "Columbus Day" sale, but I have a "Your Cruise is in 21 Days!!!" sale. They typical 35% off jargon that has been thrown at every other sale. In the terms and conditions, it says this price is good until 10/12. The "holiday sales" are almost always "extended" so my thinking would be you'd be okay tomorrow - but I can't make any promises.
  13. I tried to do this on a few cruises ago - I had the soda package and they said that package could not be upgraded to the deluxe drink package. My brother seemed to be able to upgrade his refreshment package though, but I was told not the soda package. Could be a case of two different crew with 2 different answers. I just called it a lost expense and still upgraded to the deluxe drink package. I'd probably go with the recommendation above to cancel the one you have now.
  14. The difference between a bid and a full price upgrade, in my case, was around $5k. While I'm willing to throw out a few G's for an upgrade bid to see what sticks, I'm not willing to shell out an additional $5k for a suite. So while the more expensive route may be the safest, Imma bid for that upgrade. I may win, I may lose. Either way I'm on a cruise. And honestly, if I lose, I'll be relieved, because I can use that cash! But couldn't pass up an opportunity to bid.
  15. For anyone who may run into this issue, I did end up calling the number stated earlier in the thread. No hold time before a rep answered, and it took about 10 minutes on the phone and they had the OBC applied and I was able to see it before the phone call ended. So pretty easy to resolve. Possibly it is a time period thing and it would have shown up a few weeks before the cruise, who knows. But now i don't have to worry about it.
  16. What's the date of the cruise. We don't leave until October 30th, so just wondering if it's in a certain time period, someone mentioned two weeks or so. Thanks!
  17. Thanks for the info, everyone. I don't see anything in my cruise planner for OBC, and did not get an updated invoice. I'll give it until a little closer to the cruise (Oct. 30th), and then I'll call if not here. Argh!
  18. Hi all, where do you see the OBC applied on the Royal Caribbean account/website/app? I redeemed some points 8/11/2022 and haven't been able to find anything on my cruise account showing the OBC applied. Thank you!
  19. Honestly though, people. What are you doing in your cabins that you need it serviced twice a day?? Most days we just need some fresh towels, but it’s nice to have the bed made, so we just let the steward do their thing. But to be honest, on the lines that do twice a day, I tell the steward we prefer just once. Twice is just too much!
  20. Just say no! Honestly, I know some people really struggle with this. I haven't had any bad experiences. I usually just let them do their whole sales pitch, and then say, "Nah, I'll pass, but thank you." I've really never had a more aggressive experience than that, but I know some people have. I really don't think you're going to find an answer that solves the problem of the sales pitch and how to avoid it. It's going to happen. It's part of the process. My best advice is just to not let it bother you, and enjoy the massage. But like I said, I know this can really be a struggle for some people. Good luck!
  21. Got a mailer today with 4 Blackjack tournaments listed over 2023. The GF has really been wanting to play in one on Carnival, since winning one on RCI lol (GP $500 - womp womp). Anyone done one of these before, and if so, trying to find some details on the structure and stuff. Can anyone direct me to some additional details or have some helpful info (how many rounds/how many people usually/ prizes after GP/ etc. etc. TIA!
  22. Same (except it's $32 now - no way!). I thought I'd have till the end of the "sale." So was going to complete purchasing today. Starting to wonder if it was a mistake that just got caught...
