  1. Mariner loyalty number. Special pricing is tied to your Mariner number.
  2. For a flight change, you go through FE and charges will depend on fare rates at that time and their arrangement w/AA on change fees. In FE, the top right corner of the flight details (the screen that shows the cost, flights, locator numbers, seat assignments) will show the final date that changes can be made w/o fee. Beyond that date is when change fees apply and the $$ won't be known until you decide on the flights. Again, this is for flight changes as you already know how to handle seat changes 😎 One caveat, you can reach out to AA to handle, but they will charge a $50 fee on top of fare & change fees. This is because they don't touch 3rd party bookings; FE is 3rd party. A workaround (only once tickets have been issued) can be to cancel the FE flights and rebook direct w/AA using the credit. The amount of credit you receive will be less change/cancelation fees, so it will be less than what you paid. I only do that if the new flight is considerably less than the original cuz it's a process. Hope it all works; safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  3. This aligns with my very recent experience. During an interaction yesterday w/both FE and American Airlines, I learned FE cannot book those extra pay premium seats and American cannot access Main Cabin Plus extra pay seats, but once ticketed, as Maryanne said, you can move yourself and pay the seat charge. Even if your AA status allows you to move at no charge, they cannot do it, traveler has to do it. What a journey!!
  4. I had FE flights for a couple bookings; one with final payment today. Had issues w/the flights bad enough that last Thursday I sent emails to HAL (multiple calls w/hours of phone time did not resolve). When I had not heard from them by Sat, I had TA cancel the flights so we could make final payment ($39) as I didn't want to put the booking in jeopardy. Yesterday HAL called me to work through it. At the end of the call after securing proper flights, the person said she needed to collect for the flights. I wanted to use HAL gift cards to get the 10% discount, but was told she could not do gift card payment and would have to transfer me to Guest Services. No thanks, not risking another flight disaster w/Final Payment a day away, so I paid w/CC. Don't know if she required immediate payment because it was so close to Final Payment (1 day) or because I'd already made the $39 and was showing PIF. My rate code did not require immediate payment. Side note, this is the same booking I've been trying for months to add HIA w/o success. TA inquired to add it when she called to cancel the flights and was also told "no HIA for you!!"
  5. Good news - starting a new week on a positive!!🥸 Thanks for following up on the outcome, helpful to others who may need to adjust their time. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!!🚢
  6. Now I'm confused - does it seem Coke "products" are now available just no Coke Zero and no Diet Coke? Sister won't pass a Pepsi through her lips - drinks nothing but Diet Coke. We're on Venezia B2B next month, so I was excited to see Coke, but need to go back to alternate plans if there is no Diet Coke. I know, 1st World, high class problems lol
  7. Agree - with AK having a narrow season, excursions seem to not lock in until closer to sail date. And fickle weather can change the best of plans, so flexibility and adaptability are key.
  8. They also bring on Naturalists and Alaskan Geographic (think Nat Geo but expert focus is AK) to talk about the wildlife, history, etc and answer questions. Kiddos can participate in Jr Ranger programs and everyone can get a Glacier Bay National Park stamp. All at no extra charge. Plus their signature Dutch Pea Soup served complimentary in various locations while visiting Glacier Bay. Yes, HAL is a great choice for AK. But whatever your plans, safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  9. Thank you all for doing this thread. I've enjoyed reading it for a while before finally posting - the dedication by all results in a special, wonderful community. No lobster for me, but will definitely remember the four-legged family members that have traveled the Rainbow Bridge and give extra hugs to the ones still with us. This lazy bum is our newest addition - she very much enjoys a couch w/a fluffy pillow. We had a very brief rain last night; didn't enjoy the muggy feeling left behind, but the drop in temperature to double digits was very welcomed. It's only 79 now with today's high forecasted to be 95. We aren't supposed to see 100 again until Friday. I'm doing my shoulder exercises and see the Dr again this afternoon & on Wednesday; Tuesday is PT. So early week is full long days, hope work cooperates by being busy at end of week. 🤔 @cunnorl my washer displayed a couple error codes and locked my clothes inside, so I'll be focusing on appliances, too - ugh. Yay for great neighbors!!
  10. Additional "towers" have been brought to our table, along with additional tea, when we've asked.
  11. Perhaps someone with good working knowledge of the HAL water production system will weigh in... @Heidi13 @chengkp75 can you provide insight?
  12. OBC is only visible once on board. Excursion and specialty dining credits are visible pre-boarding in your booking so you can use them before sail date. Once used, they show "redeemed." You'll need to reach out to HAL or your TA for an invoice if you want to see OBC prior to boarding.
  13. @chas HAL might change your boarding time if asked, but don't believe you can specify the boarding time you want, so it may not necessarily be what you're looking for. Wouldn't hurt to call, though. Unless Boston has changed their process, you can check in and board earlier than what's on your boarding pass. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  14. I thought I had seen the $1 deposits were non-refundable, but it's a few months so I may not be remembering correctly.
  15. Gotta love auto correct - I will not pack that camera and bring an underwater camera instead!! 🫣 Oh my...
  16. The pictures are beautiful - looks like the weather was in your favor today. Unfortunate about the sub-par cinnamon roll; HAL bread and pastries are usually divine.
  17. That should help reduce the dining time to something more reasonable that allows you to keep your after dinner plans. Glad you enjoyed the show.
  18. Gotcha. I'm not on those other platforms, so if I don’t read it here, I don’t read it, lol. Agree absolutely not a reason to remove tips - computer glitch and how it's handled has zero connection to how frequently ones gets towels in their cabin or how long they wait for their dessert, both things that could impact tips. Geez...
  19. Did someone say something about removing tips?
  20. If you want the same cabin, you'll have to cancel before TA books the new one or that cabin will show as not available.
  21. They are private fares, so visibility will vary among Mariners. If you're eligible to receive that rate, you have to be logged in to see it.
  22. Yes, some do. Especially if you've been accommodated on special seating requests, etc.
  23. The amount is based on difference between HAL price and other provider price. @Rubyfisch said that difference was about $15 & they received $17.50 back. Why would you think the refund would be more?
