  1. Be sure to virtually hug her and include her on your Christmas/Holiday list - the good ones are rare.
  2. Have they added a separate library on 3 where one of the meeting rooms were? That's what they've done on some other ships, including the Eurodam.
  3. My situation as well. I just went to my AARP profile and added my first name so both names show on my card. Then clicked through the verification process and got the confirmation email. With Real ID, I am finding more that exact name matches are required and I'm having to add my first name. Had to do it for shareholder OBC this year
  4. The program details on HAL website showing the OBC $$ amounts, says "per stateroom" so not per person. As for submitting or not proof of AARP card, when doing DH it went straight through. Mine said they needed a copy of the card uploaded. Received email confirmations for both. It is same AARP account number but obviously 2 HAL Mariner numbers. I submitted request on behalf of both of us in separate emails hoping if they deny one they'll at least approve the other. I do have some cruises I'm doing without him. Plan to wait until end of week or early next week to let their systems catch up and see what happens before I start calling. Good luck to us all.
  5. On Venezia in Sept, will see if the cart is full or bare. I can take a Kindle but on a cruise I prefer actual book - easier in the light on deck, no worries about water, etc and it just "feels" like a cruise activity.
  6. Thanks - I have sent them an email, so we'll see. While the medallions obviously have no value beyond the memories they represent, they're an indication of HALs value of their passengers so it's a "big picture" thing to me. If they're going to discontinue the program recognition, communication would be nice.
  7. So, since my medallion was not in my stateroom nor did I get an invitation to drape it around my own beck at a gathering, would emailing the Mariner desk asking them to mail it to me result in me needing to check my mailbox? I'd even open it and drape it around my neck in front of the neighbors and the mail carrier, but someone else would have to take the picture cuz I don't have that many hands, lol. Heck by this time next year I'll be asking about the status of my 200 day medallion.
  8. HAL has told us they don't care who sleeps where, once onboard go to GS for them to swap keys however you want them to be. Just need an adult name on each cabin. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  9. I would love🧡 (see what I did HAL - used the orange heart) to be a FCC - love cruising, huge HAL supporter, read deckplans like they're my first language, mostly enjoy talking w/strangers and generally believe technology is the evil red headed step child we love anyway. And may or may not want to bring DH to work with me. Oh and the abbreviated 3 hour work day...
  10. @Tk_cruiser this is what we need to do this fall.
  11. DH and I were just having this very conversation. And no waste on port days when you're not onboard to drink.
  12. The Vista, while a shorter cruise, has a better itinerary (IMO) because it includes HMC. Also having the Havana cabin would be a plus. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  13. Most recent approval - Approved/applied same day I submitted it (about a week ago) for B2B coming up in Sept on Venezia: 2 booking numbers - 1st leg is 7 day, 2nd leg is 6 day Rec'd $50 for 1st leg (the longer 7 day) Rec'd $100 for 2nd leg (the shorter 6 day) Rec'd $150 total
  14. Better practice a lot - you know there's an oral quiz at the last security station - those failing the quiz are denied boarding. 🙄 Wouldn't that be awful - I think half of us would never be allowed on a ship, lol. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  15. Good question - I haven't seen one nor did I receive my 100 day medallion.
  16. @AncientWanderer you need to cruise with my friend @Tk_cruiser she loves both the duck & escargot, neither of which I eat. She does quite enjoy them on vaca now that she's cruising on HAL.
  17. @Tk_cruiser we won't have popcorn on our cruise; although, it was offered on one Lynne & I did but available only during the movie. I don't remember which ship or itinerary - she got some, I did not. But I'd definitely try it if it was offered. And I would not take 5 bags!🤔
  18. Very curious how this plays out, if you update as to final results and what port. Thanks; safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  19. @Chelle111213 congrats on scoring not only a free aft balcony but Terrazzo - nice! When are you on Venezia? We are B2B NYC Sept 16-29. Not free, paying ALL of it, ugh and green for you, but very much looking forward to it.
  20. Enjoyed the review and the "ride along." Sorry it has to end w/a journey into road traffic - safe travels.
  21. Hey @fraj1 congrats on selecting a ship - every stage of a cruise is exciting and you seem to be thoroughly working through each of them and I have no doubt yoh will be rewarded with a fabulous trip. For cabin location, we prefer a true aft as the wake views are simply stunning. In AK, we've been blessed with whale sightings during breakfast and sail a way more times than I can count. I also find the sound of the water very soothing, so aft is perfect. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  22. Yes it was 10043 - my fat finger, lol. It was awesome - have recommended it many times. Had a thermalpass and loved the convenience.
