  1. Exactly. I am not "anti-dog." I am "anti-pet" on a cruiseline that has a no pet policy. And I am "anti-imposter" and all that goes w/it.
  2. Exactly and thank you. I feel the same way about my two dogs that I love dearly. And miss dearly while I'm cruising and they are not. I 1000% support legitimate service dogs accompanying their humans any and every where necessary.
  3. NICE - I've not seen these on any of the 'dam ships I've been on. I would love them.
  4. The knock really is VERY light. DH and I joke about which one is going to wake up so we don't miss the knock.
  5. @Nickelpenny your pictures are amazing!! Thank goodness "horse guy" delivered you safely back to your car.
  6. The Universe must celebrate Siblings Day... I was preparing to back out of Dr parking lot, sister pulled in next to me; she uses same PCP. She gave me a box and said it would make me think of Baby Brother. ❤️ Already cleaned w/icy cold tea in it.
  7. Very nice photos @Cruising-along I enjoy seeing all the pictures and hope they trigger many happy memories.
  8. @dfish I love it - trade for a pony 😊 Those are great pictures. This is all 4 of us taken when my younger brother was on Christmas break from Notre Dame; a rare time when we were living in the same area. Who knew all these years later he would be gone. 💔 This is a framed sketch a friend did for me from a picture I found when cleaning out my dad's house. My younger brother had been born, but for unknown reason was not in the picture, so this is the 3 of us now, just younger, lol.
  9. We also used Hyannis for a 🐋 whale watching cruise that was amazing! The crew was great.
  10. FT means full time. Dr wanted me on an intermittent leave, which didn't work out. If Dr signs the papers, I will get 50% pay for 12 weeks. If she doesn't sign, no pay. I don't think 12 weeks is enough to get me through surgery, rehab and address all the "stuff" I have going on.🤷‍♀️
  11. Well, crud - my post is gone so this is Take 2. Having lost my younger brother to suicide, I do cherish my remaining 2 siblings. Some days are easier than others, but always worth the effort. ❤️ Pass on the meal; not been to the port. BFF lived in Jordan when she was first married, her son was born there. Thanks @StLouisCruisers for the amazing pictures! I'm in the dark - lights just went out. 🥺Waiting to see Dr - HR wants me to go out on FT continuous leave so I'm back to try for her to sign the papers. We shall see.🤷‍♀️ One stop to make on way home - DH birthday is tomorrow so I want to buy him a card. It was 63° headed to rainy 64° when I checked 2+ hours ago (that's a long way to go - not sure it will get there, lol). Forecast calls for heavy rains; I should be home glued to the work computer before they start. Prayers 🙏 and positive thoughts for all.
  12. Thanks @StLouisCruisers for the additional info & update on Austin. Sounds like he has a good allergist in his camp and he's wisely following their advice.
  13. Thanks, I do remember the fudge now. That is so scary.
  14. I personally had multiple conversations w/senior crew regarding the dogs. I provided pictures and videos which included barking, eating food off dishes in the hallway, being off leash and running into my cabin. I saw the dogs up to and including debarkation. That picture was taken about 2/3 into the cruise. I also notified both HAL Seattle and CCL Miami. For anyone (not you, @House_Atreides) who may be wondering, I don't consider any of those behaviors something a service animal would do.
  15. Correct on multiple devices using at same time - you can do up to 4 (if you buy the multi device pkg as you mentioned). But you both still have to use the same log in. That's why it doesn't matter if it's a different cabin - you're logging in as 1 person (who obviously is only in 1 cabin).
  16. I've done it (if I am now going to HAL internet jail, you'll have to bail me out @crystalspin). You'll use the log in of the person who has the internet and cannot both be in at same time. The "piggybacking" friend will NOT see their own account statement but WILL see the account of whoever they logged in as, as well as having full access to that person's profile. IMO, quite different doing it w/SO than a friend. But yes, it does work.
  17. @StLouisCruisers I think you said, so apologies if I'm having you repeat something - did DGS Austin have a history of any nut allergies or did this just happen suddenly that day? That's scary to think one could safely eat something then one day suddenly have such a severe allergic reaction. Prayers 🙏 he continues to be ok.
  18. Those pictures were taken on the K'dam Jan 2, 2024.
  19. We've never encountered soot on an aft balcony. As DH says, we've been up high and down low and any noise has been drowned out by the "waterfall" sound of the wake. For Alaska we would 1000% take an aft balcony everytime. But you will be the absolute furthest from the Crow's Nest.
  20. Yes there were shuttles being provided when were were there in Nov. Waiting areas are covered w/seats. I think they were $19pp.
  21. I say you're lucky and fortunate you've not encountered a non-service dog on a cruise. Just because you haven't, does not mean it's not happening. This thread is an indication this is not a unique one time incident - it's a real issue. A simple search here on CC will result in multiple threads of multiple incidents. The holiday K'dam cruise as well as the one after are 2 recent examples. Unfortunate reality of cruising today. Just simply not service animals.
  22. And here is where the problems begin - people are not being honest. People bring pets onboard which IMO is disrespectful of true service animals and the humans they assist. They should make arrangements to have their animals cared for off-ship - that's what I do, as much as I may want 1 or 2 of my dogs to cruise with me. I would NEVER consider representing my pet as a service animal.
