  1. Important days today; Veterans should be respected every day. Agree w/the quote, pass on the meal, maybe the drink & wine, was in Hilo Dec 2023 when NS overnighted there. Big days in history - the Alamo is a huge part of TX history (a tiny building but a "big deal") where some important lives were lost. Thank goodness for Mr Hoffmann's aspirin- I've had 2 already today. No idea what the temp or forecast is - weather doesn't want to load this morning. I'm including the full screenshot so you can enjoy the picture of my "friend" from So Africa. Prayers and positive thoughts for all.🙏 Hilo was an overnight port Dec 28-29 2023 due to a cancelation of an original port. I didn't get many pictures. The shuttles weren't running the first day since they weren't expecting us. They should only put signs out when shuttles are active - it's confusing and a big time waste. The 2nd day started a little dreary & rainy but cleared up. Definitely need photo ID I did not do an excursion; I went to the Farmers Market (everything looked so good) and walked around town. I did not cross the street to the beach - too many tents for my comfort. I got about half way across the 2nd street then turned around. Christmas 🎄 in one of the downtown shops. View from the Thermal Spa This is the map we were given on the ship This lists some of the places to go & the bus schedule - not enough copies to go around, so we took pictures Info table across from the Farmers Market shuttle bench just before you go outside Bow Cam Dec 28 2023 Aft Cam Dec 28 2023 Hilo Day 1 was a really bad dog day on the ship - this is the tail end of the one that ran in my cabin, ugh Murals from Wal-Mart Bow Cam Dec 29 2023 Aft Cam Dec 29 2023 No weather today
  2. @BermudaBound2014 once again fabulous pictures! The pictures of Motu are gorgeous; I'd stay all day, too. Not a fish eater, but happy to hear you're getting fresh fish at the Lido.
  3. The Crew Appreciation is commonly referred to as "tips" or "gratuities" currently $17 or $19/day pp depending on cabin type. It is pooled and distributed to cabin stewards, dining servers and other crew. It is completely different than the 18% drink and spa service (tip) charge.
  4. You can also ask for oversized robe if you want a more generous fit than the OSFA (one size fits all) that's in your cabin.
  5. Yes and it's good. But not all ships have it there (some it's a station in Lido buffet) and not part of Dive In.
  6. @terrydtx Dive In does not have tacos. See menu posted by @Crew News
  7. Holey crud - this day started early & fast and just keeps flying. Temp was 64° headed to 81° on my first attempt to post. Work, work, work today. Prayers and positive thoughts for all. 🙏
  8. Crew will use outlets most readily available and they will absolutely unplug passenger items. For safety concerns, some ships advise items are to be charged only when a person is present, so no surprise if you return to your cabin to see your tablets etc unplugged and not charging.
  9. It's not sold for partial cruises, but you can buy day passes.
  10. Sept Carnivale Bar on Venezia they were $12.
  11. Only experienced wait times on the first night, but we don't go right at opening.
  12. Depending on the ship, ceramic lounge time is limited to 20 or 30 min at a time - honor system w/no reservation process. Occasionally, all loungers have been full but 1 has opened up while I'm in the hydro pool or sauna. I've never not been able to use one, but it could happen.
  13. You can submit a transfer form w/in 60 (maybe 90) days of booking so long as it's not after final payment due date. The time frame is on the form. Your TA should have the form.
  14. I love seeing the locals, glad you enjoy them. There were quite a few cats there. That one was funny - it was like it was standing guard for me and when I came back up the steps, off it went - guard job complete, lol. These were up at the front, near the big statue.
  15. Prayers 🙏 and positive thoughts for you today @ottahand7 for your procedure.
  16. Thank you - so hard to edit which to post, it was definitely a visual overload day.
  17. Here's my 2nd set of pictures from our Nov 28 2023 stop in Alicante. Looking at their pictures @StLouis Cruiser @kazuwere blessed w/prettier days than we had, but the rain held off and we were able to enjoy the amazing architecture and views. The arches started before we left the bus This is where we were Plaque inside One of many statues Cats enjoy the views - heading to restroom View from restroom With the tile and stonework, the outides are as impressive as the insides. The sheer heights are impressive and contrasted against the intricate details, I'm in awe of the amazing architecture and the talented people who designed and built these structures Moving inside Look up and down - the ceilings and floors are as beautiful as the walls. The pipe organ remains unfinished with years of work still to do to complete it. This is an attempt at highlighting how thick the walls and arches are A few of the paintings; the ones closer to the alter have stained glass above them. A few more pictures from inside and the grounds
  18. Brain injuries are important to recognize - many athletes are sadly impacted by them. My mom had significant memory loss resulting from a brain injury. Pass on the meal, maybe try the drink and wine, been to Alicante Nov 28 on my 1st TA. Today is full of work and a trip to UPS to drop off the old TV box. CVS is the drop station - they don't accept boxes on Sundays so that's my big outing for today. Currently 66° headed to 84°. Beautiful picture @seagarsmoker. @kazu looks like you had a gorgeous blue sky for your day in Alicante. Prayers🙏 and positive thoughts for all. I've been to Alicante once, Nov 28 2023 on NS on my 1st TA; it was beautiful! I will post 2 sets of pictures. These are from the olive oil / wine tasting tour at Casa Sicilia, founded in 1707. Inside the masters house which is now a museum of sorts. There is a park and garden at the winery. One of the old presses and our local guide Heading to the winery The 7 wines produced at the winery and a peek inside One of the first statues we saw as we went from port to winery Beautiful architecture - I couldn't get the entire building, this is a snippet as seen from our bus Sunrise over Alicante port as seen from our balcony on NS The Daily for Alicante I'll do another post with the pictures from the other part of the day in Alicante. My cabinmate was not feeling well, so we didn't wander far from the bus.
  19. I agree about the volume. They are really really good, but really loud. If they could dial back the sound a squidge, it'd be perfect.
  20. Patience, pack your patience. Safe travels- enjoy your cruise!
  21. I took this picture Sept 2023 in the Lido on a Carnival ship. Some cruises, not an issue. Other times, finding seating to eat during regular meal time is a challenge, no matter the cruiseline. I'm in favor of posting signs.
  22. @cruising sister I l❤️ve the picture of smiley Ms Baby Murphy heading out into the World!! It's been heartwrenching following her story and warms my heart seeing her all strapped in with that huge grin 😀 I hope you'll continue to share pictures of her - that little fighter has a lot of people in her corner.🙏
  23. @cruising sister extra prayers and positive thoughts for Baby Murphy and family as she begins her new life at home - such great news!
