  1. Thanks to @NancyDrew1953 and @Windsailer for your responses. I'm quite happy to wear a mask in crowded situations and will pack some for the cruise.
  2. Thanks for reporting on your experiences. I'm also on the next sailing and hope that the favourable weather continues for us. I've been to Zealandia and agree with your recommendation. A question please: are masks mandatory on your cruise? I was on Westerdam in Nov/Dec when it was but so far we have not been advised by HAL of any such requirement. Hope you continue to enjoy your cruise. ☺️
  3. It appears that iPhones and Android devices have different versions of Navigator (4.21 for iPhone and 4.17 for Android)
  4. Port Otago vessel schedule still has her listed as an early morning arrival https://www.portotago.co.nz/marine-and-shipping/shipping-schedules/vessel-schedule/
  5. I'm on the Noordam cruise before yours, departing Auckland on Feb 25th. So far no word from the cruise line about any changes. The current sailing was due in Napier on Feb 21st but at present is no longer listed on the port's schedule for that date. First cruise arrival listed currently is Noordam on Feb 27th.
  6. Sailing on board the tall ship "James Craig" as part of the Australian Wooden Boat Festival final day https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Craig_(barque)
  7. Take an empty water bottle with you and decant the contents into that once ashore (a little cumbersome but workable).
  8. OK, found them on Google street view (on PTV journey planner called "Flinders St/Queens Bridge St #1" And then there is this (on PTV journey planner called Casino/Southbank/Queens Bridge St #115) which is where I have always got off the #109 cruise shuttle bus and which is the one in question as to whether the #58 tram (still) stops there (enroute to QVM and the zoo among others).
  9. I do know that you live there! But I'm beginning to think we are talking about (slightly) different locations on either side of the river (you on the city side and Julie and I on the Southbank side). The #109 cruise ship shuttle (which is part of the PTV network and needs a myki card) terminates at the location indicated on the map in my last post, and on my last visit tram stop for route 58 still appeared there (apart from the temp bus replacement). The busses that park next to the Immigration Museum are probably ones run by the cruise lines i.e. not PTV. I remember getting off there a few years ago. Do you mean these?
  10. Guess I'll find out for certain when I get there in a few weeks.
  11. According to the PTV site, that tram stop seems alive and well. When I was there in early December, a bus service replaced the first one or two stops towards Coburg (the QV market) due to roadworks but there is no mention of that now in the PTV journey planner. 😕
  12. At the top of HAL's website is a link to "Look up Protocols" by voyage or booking number. Looking up the details for that voyage number it appears requirements were last updated very recently (on February 2, 2023).
  13. Passengers on Viking orion apparently had to do just that this morning with an onboard fire while docked at White Bay this morning. Just reported on ABC radio news. See also https://www.2gb.com/breaking-fire-breaks-out-on-board-cruise-ship-in-sydney/

  15. She is till 'bumbling' along at currently 2.3kn as per MarineTraffic. No other vessels in her immediate vicinity which discounts bum scraping.
  16. Thank you everybody for all the useful info in this thread. Have just booked a Noordam cruise for next year with an FCD and upgrading from a VH to VA saved me close to A$600 net. CO charge was simply included in the total amount due at final payment. 😁
  17. For Android phones, the app requires Android 10 or up. Don't know about iPhones, no mention in the app info.
