  1. I need to remember to look at people's locations. Obviously, what I said does not apply to you.
  2. Keep in mind that you are only allowed one 1-liter bottle per person duty free. Anything more must be declared and taxed. Choose wisely.
  3. That is a great perk. Less important than the drink package and gratuities, but nice.
  4. Thank you both. Now I have a solid number in mind if I have to lose the perks.
  5. If they weren't important, I wouldn't be asking about them. 😎
  6. This is obviously the best-case scenario, and how NCL handles it. If my PCC has the option, I can be persuasive. 😆
  7. What are the gratuities and elite beverage package upgrade costs for 2 people, 14-days, if I had to pay them? Since they're included, I can't see them. I'm guessing it's more, or close, to the $700 price drop now available.
  8. If there is another recent thread that covers this, feel free to point me to it. We'll be taking our first HAL cruise in August. Can't wait. We booked early, received the max HIA package with gratuities and elite beverage package included. We have a PCC. Final payment isn't due until May. Just noticed about a $700 price drop. Before I call my PCC, I'd like to know what to expect, what others have experienced, and how to respond. Thanks in advance.
  9. And the fact I log in to the website nearly every day. You'd think they'd have an algorithm for that. I see your "deals" NCL, every.single.day.
  10. The Sun was our first NCL cruise in 2015. I'd sail her again in a heartbeat.
  11. No bar that makes an espresso martini has to run over to the closest coffee shop every time they make the drink. C'mon Bird.
  12. You're likely to get "yes" and "no" to this question. Different people had exact opposite experiences.
  13. Not for alcohol and cigarettes, which is why there are such strict rules on how much you can bring back. Not much -- 1 carton of cigarettes and 1 liter of alcohol.
  14. I agree, but how many times have you seen, "Did you do a search? There are a gazillion threads on this subject". None of which seem answer want you want answered.
  15. Ditto. When I was in my 30's or 40's I'd just roll with it for the price. Now that I'm 60, I'll choose my own destiny, thank you.
  16. Was price in the brochure for the exact same cabin/deck/section of the ship as you booked? Unlikely. "Deceptive" is a subjective term.
  17. If you feel it necessary to tell others how wealthy you are, you're doing life wrong.
  18. Isn't deck 7 the embarkation/debarkation deck? That seems really high for a port. I want to say deck 3 is the deck I remember most, but I may have a screw loose. 😎
  19. This seems strange to me. What deck space is limited for under 18, other than Spice until 7:00 pm? I've never been on the Escape.
  20. My son always puts a shower cap over the smoke detector in a hotel room when he vapes (only when he's actually in the room). I don't know if that's because he's had an incident, or just to be on the safe side.
  21. I hope my first step is a walking cane. There are some very cool ones out there. Plus, no one messes with an old codger wielding a cane!
  22. As Bird has noted, freestyle dining means you will be seated at whatever table, section, waiter is available, regardless of which MDR you choose. On our 10-day Joy cruise, we ate at the MDR 8-times and never had the same waiter twice. Nor did we recognize anyone around us.
