  1. @jam19872016 Ugh! What a horrible, terrible, no good, very bad day. Mom said there’d be days like this…(See book by the same title). I’m so sorry your restful vacation has ended is this ordeal. Tomorrow will be a better day I’m sure. It’s good to hear from you.
  2. This is a super tiny picture because I didn’t want to show myself…remember making chains as a child? I took our Christmas Covid masks, which I had made, and cut them into strips, then made a chain out of them with grandson #1. It traveled with us, easily packed, and was hung around the mirror in the entry.
  3. Sunday breakfast: Homemade Bloody Mary, homemade biscuits, home made pork breakfast sausage and my famous Omelette with Gruyère cheese. @jam19872016 please note that there is no sign of browning on the omelette and @Von & John putting salt into the eggs while whisking 99 times means they will fluff greater when they hit the hot butter! (I prefer white pepper in my eggs) I love eggs, I will eat them anywhere…
  4. I bet it is actually worse than that @exlondoner. I bet he is at, dramatic music here, work!
  5. @bluemarble I don’t like that I’m limited to one comment response to your post. It deserves the trophy because it’s so amazing, it deserves the heart of course, but I also just broke out in a smile, because of course you would do the comparison. Thanks for all you do for us. - S in Seattle
  6. Dear Cunard, We, the frequent posters on the Cruise Critic Cunard Forum, would like to recommend @chengkp75 as a presenter on all of the 4 Queen’s. His/Her knowledge of ships is extensive and would add greatly to any cruise where building, design, construction, or maintenance of ships was a focus. I’m sure many of us who read his/her posts would book a cruise to meet and listen to his/her presentations. Sincerely, Frequent posters and lurkers of the Cunard Forum Cruise Critic
  7. We bought our son a suit many years ago and on the first night wearing it the pant hem came out. (Very poorly constructed obviously) Not having time to properly sew it I grabbed the painters tape, which lasted through dinner. Being a quilter I always have needle, thread, and a small scissors with me and was able to repair it before dinner the next night. But, the painters tape is a permanent part of my travel kit.
  8. @jam19872016 I’m in the same boat as @princess76021. (I’ve set someone up for a joke) I’m on my second cup of coffee and missing the pictures of the various bars/clubs and songs being played last night as you hopped across the ship. Maybe you could post the song you’re listening to while showering this morning?
  9. @D&N Coco has a hypnotic gaze with those green eyes. I look forward to watching and hearing about her adventures in your family.
  10. It has come in handy several times. I can post a note on the window, “out here.” I’ve used them to hold up a hem in a pair of pants. I’ve used them on a piece of tapestry so the thread doesn’t catch during sewing. Wrap a piece around cords, in one case to hold up Christmas decorations in our cabin. We were in a cabin in September where the magnets didn’t work, not on Cunard, and I was glad I had my tape.
  11. There are wonderful coats for sale on board. We purchased one that has a removable light inner fleece. It went with me to Alaska and I love it! If you walk at a good pace you’ll stay warm, but take along gloves.
  12. @jam19872016 You have been great fun to follow and I hope your trip home continues the fun. I too am looking forward to your next adventure. Take Care —
  13. @jam19872016 I have had a blast following you on your journey and interacting with all of those posting. (I am getting a ribbing from my DH regarding the number of hours spent with coffee in my chair in the morning). I hope you will post something on the Cunard forum the next time you’re on board one of the Queens, even if it links back to another line. I bet if you started a Go Fund Me page many of us would contribute to buying, or renting, a tux for your next Cunard voyage because we really do want you to experience the special gala evenings. Hugs from Seattle.
  14. I don’t think I’ve ever had a quality fruit cake. I claim to not like them based on the overly sweet chemical laden fruit that was gifted each Christmas to my mother. They didcome in rather nice tins that I’ve used for many years to hold cookies errr biscuits.
  15. @jam19872016 Out of curiosity, when they cook your selection of items for the Mongolian Wok do they cook them on a flat top griddle or in a wok? True Mongolian grill is done a giant round gas fired flat top. There is a copious amount of liquid added to the items before being splayed on the griddle. Sauces, such as those listed, are not added during cooking. Very tasty!
  16. I think it would be interesting to see them all lined up. She must have quite a collection at this point .
  17. Dinner. Shakespeare “Get thee to a nunnery go!” - @jam19872016 Get thee to Cunard, Go! Eat real food. A TA is a wonderful thing to experience and much cheaper than 56 days around South America. But, rent a tux dude and let your mom strut her stuff in something beautiful! Stand in the atrium, level 2, and have a picture of the two of you taken to remember it for many years to come. Bless you for all of your wonderful posts.
  18. @jam19872016 I have had funfetti cakes before and I was afraid that they used the same confetti in the cheesecake. I was holding out hope that maybe they just put those little sprinkles on top and not within the cake. Oh well. The dinner menu looks good. I’m looking forward to seeing your choices. 🙂
  19. We will want pictures of course! What type of cake?
  20. What do they adulterate perfectly good cheesecake with to make it funfetti? I bet it contains your favorite #2 yellow dye, and maybe even #4 red. Chocolate peanut butter does sound like a winner. Like a giant Reese’s peanut butter cup with a good cup of coffee on the side.
  21. Oh My…what do you think those French fry looking molded rectangles could be? You said it was apple/caramel…as @exlondoner has pointed out, there are many fried foods being served. Perhaps they are fried apples. Maybe even breaded fried apples!
  22. Yum…that sounds good and I’m glad to hear your report that it was “pretty good”
