Here we go again... LIVE from Beyond, February 19, 2024
A&L_Ont replied to mac_tlc's topic in Celebrity Cruises
@mac_tlc I’m following along considering Beyond in late July for an 8 night. Looking at a Retreat room so I’m very interested in your feedback. Having battle chair hogs at our last AI I’m curious too. Does this explain your wife’s Amazon delivery on embarkation day?😀😂 -

I’ve chuckled a few times today at this thread title.

My 81 year old mom got her shot this fall. My MIL at 76 did not. That said, my mom is not as healthy as my MIL. Unfortunately a bad cold can take out someone who is aged or immune compromised.

Congratulations to @RachLovesSteak and Landon. A Star Class cruise for a Bachlorette Party, what a way to celebrate. Enjoy the RLS. I can’t think of any cabin hacks from our previous stays but I bet you have it investigated and your cruise well planned. I look forward to the fun that you all have planned and and the photos to follow.

@h20skibum referenced how long the poster had been member of CC and how few posts they made. Today was their first post after being a member for years. If I had to guess in the context, the idea would be something like “are you are hiding in my chimney to hear/know all that happens in my house”. Meanwhile most of us on CC can easily look up how many posts and how long a person has been a member. It’s no national secret for us, and 007 spy skills are not needed. Just my guess but I’d be curious to what Graham has to say.

I first want to say that I’m sorry to read about your mom. I hope that she is doing as best as possible. It is unfortunate that you have to scramble now to get the paperwork for insurance, when your time really should be focusing on her. I have read other people’s experiences with the shore side assistance from RC and Princess and your experience was the polar opposite of theirs. Helping them find a hotel, driving them there, leaving their cell number for a contact to call at any time as a few examples. Maybe the shore side agent’s role has changed over time but what you got is not what you needed, nor deserved. I have read the same experiences of health care in Mexico with funds up front etc and the fact that you didn’t feel comfortable in the neighbourhood didn’t help you. That’s when a supportive shore side assistance would have really made your hard experience somewhat bearable. When the time is tight I think it wouldn’t hurt for you to contact RC HQ to share your experience with the lack of help from their agent in Mexico. I’d like to think that RC would want a representative who would leave their cruise guests with a feeling of relief during their medical stay not what you experienced. At the same time of contact, you could find out if there is a way to get the medical information from the ship quicker. Most importantly, as you state, the need for medical insurance is key. If anyone ever questioned needing it hopefully they read your thread and hopefully it will change their mind. I’m so sorry that your mom got sick. I’m sending prayers to her and to your family as well.
