I know when I started my book on our family tree, there were several things I found that I wish I could have asked my parents, or that Susan could have asked hers. It seems that no one in the family was aware of certain things. One, was that my one grandfather had a marriage prior to my grandmother. If my mother, or her sister knew, it was never shared. Another was a prior marriage of Susan’s grandfather, and the son he had from that marriage. And it seems like some things are closely held secrets, for what ever reason. After discovering this, and asking one of Susan’s aunts, she was aware but never shared, even though she kept asking what I had found. My self imposed timeline to finish my book has passed, but it is nearly finalized. I have reached a point to where I am conflicted about what I should include about a few of the living relatives. Since the book will be primarily for my kids and grandkids, do I include things about prior marriages and/or children of those relatives? There are things that are not talked about, and my kids are probably not aware of them. Thank goodness that neither Susan or I have any deep dark secrets about us. At least that’s what she claims.

So we did get a Ricky update yesterday from his blood test. Numbers were up over 30, so that was good. Now he gets his steroid dose cut in half, and he just has to finish antibiotics. Then, another blood test next week to monitor how things are going. He does seem to be acting almost normal. (Well, normal for him)

After I got ducked yesterday, we made a trip through the mall near @LionesssSue’s house. Now, I have never been a fan of those generic mannequins with half a head missing. Express seems to use them for all their displays. When I looked in their storefront window at the men’s shirts, I saw this. Now, something just seemed off. Maybe if someone can figure it out, they could Point out what it is.

Do any of you have a true home theater setup, and if so, what remote do you use? I have an Onkyo 7.1 receiver (center channel, front L&R, side L&R, rear L&R, plus subwoofer). My Sony tv is connected to it, as is a dvd player, Apple TV box, and Roku box. I have been controlling everything with a Logitech Harmony 650 programmable remote. The thing I liked about the Harmony is it made everything a one button operation. Press watch a movie, and it would turn on the tv, change the source to the dvd, turn on the dvd player, turn on the surround receiver, and it would be ready to go. Same with everything else, it would automatically switch inputs and power devices on and off. It always worked great when I had a cable box, but since switching to Roku and using the cable provider app, the remote occasionally gets confused. I started looking for a new programmable remote, but it appears Harmony stopped making them. Maybe with so many going with sound bars and smart tvs, there wasn’t a big enough market for programmable remotes. Just curious what others use.

You may remember about a month ago, Ricky, my daughter’s cat ended up in the hospital for a blood transfusion. He was diagnosed as anemic, and his PCV (I think that is the correct term) was down to 9. When he was released, it was up to 22, which was still a little low. Today, will be the fourth time I have taken him to the vet for a blood test, as they continue to monitor how he is doing. He is still on steroids, and a second round of antibiotics. Tomorrow we will find out where his numbers are. They have been up to 30 and down to 16. He was not happy when I put him in his carrier. I am not sure, but I think this is his evil eye, once I brought him back home.

So, how was the trail today? Either we are getting a little older, or it got a little harder. We did about a five mile loop on the trails. This is part of the North Country Trail. ‘This part is easy There is a trail in there somewhere. Lots of nice water views With some small waterfalls. I am glad they cleared some of the downed trees. That isn’t too steep. It is almost like a staircase And speaking of cats, that looks like an old cat on the trail. 😂 And, a much slower cat. 😂 So if anyone wants to give their knees or hips a workout, this is the place. Afterwords, this was perfect.

Decided to go for a hike after church today, so we drove to McConnell’s Mill State Park. With an 80° day, it appeared many had the same idea. There were several kayaks in the water. They had to pull out above the Mill dam and walk to the lower part of the creek. A good place for a lunch break. The creek can get some fast moving white water, and the trail has several life preservers to toss to anyone who gets in trouble. We saw a few get turned around, and they ended up going through the rapids backwards or sideways. These guys didn’t do too bad. IMG_1062.mp4

We only made the drive to Key West once, and that drive was from the Ft. Myers area. It was even a long drive from there, and even longer when you consider we were driving back to Pennsylvania after that trip. All our other visits to Key West have been on cruise port stops. One other unusual place to see is where they keep Robert the Doll. It is a little hike from the cruise port, but we did that on one trip when we had a lot of time. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_(doll)

I am following along with your report. Good to see you have your photo issues figured out. It is always nice to have photos to go along with the narrative. I have done a few live reports, and I know the effort that is involved, so thank you for that. Now, if I can offer a constructive comment. I always find the photos are much easier to view if there is a space between them. Not hard to do, just insert photo, hit return twice, then insert the next ones. Enjoy your cruise.
