  1. If you contact all the Princess departments and people, as you should, you may or may not ever hear back from them. Even if you do, it could be months. I fired off a complaint to customer relations only once, and although I did hear back it took so long that I'd forgotten I even sent it. I got a call from a very nice lady, whose job seems to be making the soreheads like me go away a bit happier. Have you considered trying to take this to the online media? Companies these days seem to pay more attention to bad online reviews than they do to actual customer complaints.
  2. We did laundry in the ship's laundry room only once, and that was on a Princess ship. We agreed to never do that again. Of all the things I can think of to spend time on when we're on a cruise, doing laundry has to be last on the list. If we can't pack enough clothes to see us through, we send it out to the laundry service. Different strokes for different folks - I knew a gal who spent nearly all day in port trucking laundry back and forth to a land-based laundrymat. In Hawaii yet!
  3. And HAL has a cruise that goes to the eclipse and then continues on to Hawaii. I think it's 22 days, and there was availability a few days ago.
  4. This. I'm on that cruise, and it's been sold out, not sold out, then sold out again. No way of telling what it is right now.
  5. The last several cruises, we've gotten wifi, which we purchased as a standalone. We get 50% discount for elite, and we share one wifi package. With the price going up, I'll be deciding on a cruise-by-cruise basis. Probably won't get it for Alaska, since shore days I'll have connection through my service provider when we go ashore. Same for California coast.
  6. I had that problem and finally bit the bullet and called. Took a while, but it actually got fixed. I don't know the email address, but if somebody provides you with it, you should be sure to list out the booking numbers for all your upcoming cruises. Common sense would say that if they fix it for one, it'll be fixed for all. But common sense doesn't apply here, and the lady on the phone insisted on putting in a ticket for all three of mine.
  7. It definitely is a bottomless money pit - as long as you keep throwing money into it. We don't book packages. The math for plus or premium just doesn't work for us. We also don't spend much on board either, in fact I refer to us as a couple of freeloaders. We don't do many excursions, and we don't do specialty dining much either. We only do specialty restaurants if they're included in a promo. We have a wonderful time on our cruises and don't feel deprived at all. We find that there's plenty to do on the ship without paying extra, and we enjoy getting off the ship and just walking around. I don't know if you'll be able to have a good time without all the extras. Only you know that. If you can't do that, then you'll either decide whether to pay whatever or just not cruise. It's a tough decision, isn't it.
  8. There's actually a lot wrong with it, but I've decided to think it funny rather than get mad at it. When I bring it up, it's a real crap shoot as to how much, if any, of the data for our next cruise loads. Sometimes all of it, sometimes none of it, mostly most of it. For instance, I opened it this morning and it knew who I am and what cruise is next. Off to a good start, or so one would think. It couldn't find any travel companions, although it's certainly shown my hubby before. Couldn't find any dining info. Couldn't find the purchased wifi package. Next time I open it, I'll probably get a different result. Never a dull moment with that thing.🤣😂
  9. I vote for no. I don't think so.
  10. When I commented on this thread before, something hadn't occurred to me. We sailed on the HAL Westerdam last September, and this lunch menu is either identical or very similar to what we had then. One sea day, I tried the chicken and waffles, which I'd never had before. The waffle sucked, but the chicken was really good. It is! Editing to add a link to the HAL lunch menu on that board. Go to page 15.
  11. I could stay happy with this for quite a few days. At least longer than our needy cat allows us to cruise.
  12. A bug in a Princess app? Oh no! How could that possibly be? 🤣
  13. We've always washed our hands constantly while on board. I think that really helps. These days, we still do that and we avoid crowded situations as much as possible. We still wear masks when we're in crowds or on airplanes. Even doing these things we caught covid last September while on a HAL cruise.
  14. That looks like a great cabin, and I'd love to book it some time. My hubby doesn't like aft cabins (go figure) but he might make an exception for something that nice.
  15. We've gone to Alaska more than once in May, and the weather was fine. One year, we were supposed to do a helicopter hike in Skagway, but things hadn't melted yet so it was a train and snowshoe hike. That same year, it was 75 degrees the day we were in Juneau. Your mileage may vary. We really liked the Coral. Great Promenade deck!
  16. I haven't stayed in that cabin, but we sailed on the Westerdam last September for our first cruise with HAL. It's a great ship! We were in one of the inside cabins with a window on Observation deck, and it was so nice to be able to just walk down the hall to the Crow's Nest early every morning for a cup of coffee to sip while sitting in one of the big, comfy, forward window facing chairs. Staff were all very nice. Food ranged from okay to really good. We didn't find any downsides at all with this ship, and my husband liked it way better than the big Princess ships we've sailed on most recently.
  17. Yeah, that's a problem for sure. Sucks some of the joy right out of life.
  18. You make good points, but I still like having mine in advance. Anything that gets me through check-in faster is a winner in my book.
  19. Or it might be in the "I'll put it here since I'll remember where it is" place. A lot of things end up there.
  20. Yes. That's a lot, isn't it? I'm starting to think about not getting internet for at least some cruises.
  21. The price went up last week, so $25 per single device, per day is the going rate. If you're platinum or elite, you should get 50% off, so $12.50. A "single device" means that you can have one person at a time logged in, but people can and do share a one device plan. It's not accounting for the 3 people in your cabin.
  22. I think only tables and chairs. That's all I see in photos of that area.
  23. This probably won't help, but it has worked for me with other apps. Try dumping the cache for the app. That gets rid of stored images, which just might help.
