  1. ( Sorry TeeRick- meant to quote the reply before you, not yours) Off label suggests using an approved medication for a diagnosis not approved by the FDA, or in a different dose or route of administration. It wouldnt be "off label" if you are in a high risk group and only took it if you tested positive. We were on a land trip to South Africa earlier this year and our PCP did give us each a prescription for Paxlovid- glad he did as, in spite of being up to date with vaccines, DH tested + on the required return to US test. It is currently "free" ( i.e. the $530 paid for by the federal government) for those who are in high risk groups who test positive.
  2. while on land based vacation, we used Ulungele tours for 2 days of touring in Cape Town- we didnt do the wine tours but Hank was great for the 2 tours we did do and we highly recommend him https://ulungeletours.co.za/cape-town-tours/wine-lands/
  3. We used Moti Bar-Tuv of Travel-Israel on our last cruise that had 4 days in Israel based from Haifa (It was planned to be 2 days in Asdhdod and 2 in Haifa but Ashdod was canceled at the last minute-11pm the night before arrival- because of shelling). He was able to rearrange our touring plans overnight and we still saw everything that was on our wish list - including a lunch stop in Cana. We so much enjoyed the tours that we have booked with him again for later this year https://travel-israel.info/home

Hammer museum was unique and fun- not very big but enjoyed our visit!
  6. We did a land trip recently and used a driver recommended on the Tripadvisor Panama forum- he was excellent. His name is Shaun and he used WhatsApp for contact-(from the US) +507 6710 2607
  7. Just visited on land trip. Agree with @BillB48- be sure the driver stays with you- even the locks staff made sure our driver was going to wait as they said it is difficult to get someone to pick you up otherwise. The entry fee for non resident visitors was $10 each. Excellent viewing area by the way..
  8. We are spending time in Athens before our cruise and making arrangements for a car to transfer to Piraeus port. I had thought embarkation would be in the late morning, but from some previous posts, it sounds like it might not be until 2pm. Can anyone who has recently sailed from Piraeus comment? Thanks in advance, Susan
  9. agree with that- the agent has been very helpful with price adjustments when the chat is available but there does not seem to be rhyme or reason (ie time of day ) as to when open - have seen it mid day and evening but not usually early mornings when call volume might be lower...
  10. HI- sounds like earliest between 730 and 745am from prior experiences
  11. Thanks for posting this! I have been searching on the Azamara site without success for information regarding Egyptian visas and whether these would be arranged by the cruise line
  12. Thanks to all who replied! Sounds like we can self disembark fairly early and although there should be plenty of taxis, will probably pre-book a car so we don’t have any negotiations or surprises.
  13. We are longtime Celebrity cruisers who regularly self disembark. We will be on our first Azamara cruise this fall ( very excited)-what is typically the earliest time for disembarking? Is the self disembarking process similar to that on Celebrity? Will there be abundant taxis at Piraeus or should we pre-book a transfer service? Thanks for any advice/insights!
  14. especially because arrival by ship or across land borders does not require testing!
  15. we also have a small ace wrap ( have had ankle sprains in the past) and a dental repair kit ( can be found at dollar store)- if a filling falls out on a ship, no dentist around)
  16. most physicians would recommend less than 4000mg/day without alcohol, so less if drinking.
  17. It is a banned substance in some countries.
  18. We had the family veranda cabin on Reflction earlier this year, won on a moveup bid. I can be sensitive to motion but did not have any problems. (We were in the Caribbean however, so not rough seas). Loved the extra space!. The veranda was partly covered at the front so that prevented too much wind. Would definitely book again
  19. We have done it for immediate and extended family and the next cruise staff willingly placed it on our credit card. They received the perks available at the time and the reduced deposit and OBC for onboard booking.
  20. We have used 12 tests so far with the very first one we ever did missing the solution. They do replace the defective kit but having one extra for piece of mind is worth it for us.
  21. We have always just gone to the emed website to start the test and connect to the proctor- there are 2 buttons on the home page- "order now" and "start test". Once you click start test, you are prompted to sign into your emed account and then will be connected to proctor, who will then guide you through opening the test box and doing the test. You remain connected for the 15 min processing time but the 1st proctor will leave and then at the 15 min another proctor will come into view and review the results.. The results are available on the Navica site and also via email.
  22. When checking in for Delta for domestic flights, they do ask if you have, or have been exposed to, Covid in the past 10 (or maybe 14 ) days
