  1. The survey results are still tabulated and noted through corporate .. it’s just the names of those you mean to compliment don’t go out on a list to the ship’s supervisors if not competed within 3 days. I can understand their reasoning as there are a few cruises that are as short as 2 or 3 days and they need to keep things moving along. But, I also understand that at least passengers should be in the know about the process. I’m sure they are just happy that people even take the time to fill them out in the first place. I know many don’t!
  2. Toady is the day for the soft opening of the Catch on the Discovery. oooo .. yummmm!
  3. So true … not on Princess but on Choice Air, we had flights booked for a group of four. They changed my flight .. but only mine. Ugh! Now, that wasn’t going to work. I spent so many hours of my time to get that taken care of and get our original flights and seats back in place. If I hadn’t gone online and checked, that would have been a bit of a disaster. Well, maybe calling it a disaster is a bit dramatic but I wouldn’t have been a happy camper.
  4. You probably bid on a premium balcony cabin, which is exactly the same on the Grand class ships, just a midship location (or an aft facing location). On this class of ship, to get a bigger cabin, the next step up is a mini suite. The aft facing premium balconies have some pretty great balconies, though.
  5. I do the same. On turnaround day of a B2B, we fill it out right after reboarding. At the end of the cruise, I use it to fill the time while waiting for boarding to begin. I usually take my time and give them a lot to read. It takes me at least 2 hours. My DH flies through his .. 😂 .. and then he’s bored to death waiting for our flight! The first time I heard about having 3 days is from one of the supervisors that urged us to fill out the survey. I asked him if he saw it next time we were onboard and he said, “no”. He was the one that originally told me it had to be done in three days, which is why we started to complete it asap.
  6. Whoa! I know they have their restrictions on calling about upgrades, move over offers, etc. I’m surprised this is the case with the bidding process, as they have nothing to do with it. Thank you for the info!
  7. Yea you can. Be sure to check your profile on their website to make sure the contact methods have a ✔️. My check marks seem to fall off to every so often. They were unchecked again this morning when I went to see if they were still there. if you don’t sign up for emails, there is still a section on the Princess website where you can see if your cruise qualifies and is open for bids. If it is, you can make your bid right from there, regardless if you used a travel agency or not.
  8. I asked several crew and even a couple of supervisors again last week, while we were on the Discovery Princess. It is a common understanding amongst all these employees that if the survey is not completed within three days after the end of the cruise and you wish to mention names or departments, they will not show on the listing of the ship’s supervisors / officers. They surveys are still tabulated if sent in after 3 days, but the crew and staff will never see your comments that you’ve made or that their name was mentioned.
  9. We were just on the Discovery with the premier package and we could order exactly what we wanted at any of the casual dining venues. Oftentimes, we would order less than what was on the price fixed menu but one time, we ordered one extra small plate and no dessert. It all worked out because they knew we didn’t order and proceed to waste food.
  10. i understand the band, Mockingbird, will be joining at that same time. They are the BEST house band in the fleet.
  11. We had to book at her again for January. We really need to spend time during the holidays with our families instead of running off on a cruise. After the New Year, we will be back at it. If you’re going on Jan 6th, we will down there at the IC for coffee, too. 😉
  12. I used it an average of every other day. The wait times were great. I would say no more than 15 minutes and the orders were completely accurate each time. I do have a comment about the specialty coffee I ordered through OceanNow, though. I gave up on that because it was just not good. I imagine some of it has to do with getting it from a paper cup vs porcelain but I’ve had it before where it was actually quite good. I always get a decaf cappuccino and in this case, it was mostly milk (not milk foam) and very little expresso. I think they must have installed one of those instant machines in the room service pantries. It didn’t seem anything like the barista makes in the IC or at Princess Live. Since it is just decaf and I don’t even have any coffee at home, I would just go downstairs to order a real cappuccino, if even then. I hate wasting any food or drink, so I just now don’t order it in my room anymore.
  13. auto correct strikes again. I do like the pico de gallo that comes with the quesadillas, though. I really meant to say salads.
  14. We found them while docked in San Francisco and it was such a nice day, we decided to take a walk while in town. Otherwise, it would have been the perfect place to sit and relax!
  15. I applied for it yesterday on an upcoming cruise. I received this notification .. OBC Benefit Submission Acknowledgement Dear xxxxxxsx, Congratulations! 16. The smoker I saw was on the starboard side. They had loungers on both sides in the aft section and nobody was sitting on the port side.
  17. We always shoot for one of those! Such a convenient location, too!
  18. Right! I agree with you on that. We’ve sailed across many different lines and find the deluxe balcony cabins are just perfect for two passengers. I love that little bit of extra room in the cabin! My post got cut off but what I meant to finish it with was that we just love having a balcony to go out on .. if there is a deluxe balcony available, all the better. Someone on these threads, “as a stockholder”, flamed me for booking a deluxe balcony for 2 people and they should only be allowed if 3 passengers were booked in the cabin. They then proceeded to say we should have to book a mini suite if there were just 2 people wanting extra space. How does that make sense when all mini suites hold at least 3 people, as well? It was nonsensical, at best. Ahhh .. gotta love cruise critic! 😆 You never know what people are going to come up with next!
  19. Thank you for that update. We upgraded to the premier package on our recent cruises and found great value in it on the Royal class ships. I sure hope that the Grand/Crown class ships change Vines to offer a better casual dining option for lunch. While we love the charcuterie board and crudités every so often, I just can’t see myself wanting that for lunch every day. Sushi there would make a nice added value. As far as I have seen, the GastroPub is only offered after 5 PM. It would also be so nice if the ships without Alfredo’s or GiGi’s allowed those with the premier and plus packages the ability to order a pizza (with a salad) over the app and have it covered under their package. I know I can go up top to order it but, sometimes, we like the option available in our cabin through room service. Not so much a complaint but just a suggestion so there is more equal value in the packages across the fleet.
  20. You are correct in that the balcony cabins only have one desk chair. And if you book an aft facing Premium Deluxe balcony, like on the Baja deck, the balcony is much larger along with having a small seating area in cabin. Quite honestly, we just like having a balcony, no matter
  21. That sounds like a rather decent deal to me for a balcony and inclusion of Princess Plus.
  22. I’m with you! While I think that sometimes the volume is set a little too high, I do enjoy the entertainment, games and other events in the piazza. I am actually happy when there are seats available there .. maybe because others want a more subdued and quiet atmosphere. We cruised on Celebrity earlier this year and I just find it to be kind of boring. There was rarely any entertainment or activities happening in the day time hours. Just of note, Princess seems to be filling their ships .. and the piazza .. obviously, many people like what they are offering! I know I do!
  23. My DH and I always have separate folios, not by choice, though. I went on a solo cruise once and now, I am having difficulty allowing him to access my credit card. It’s no bother as we just have them combine all our OBC and all charges under one credit card and once onboard. If we don’t, neither can see the other’s folio balance.
  24. I was the same way when I first downloaded the app back in 2021. I deleted it and had to reload it. Since then, I’ve been on nearly 30 cruises using it and I really love it. Hopefully, it will stop acting up for the OP once onboard.
  25. We just disembarked from the discovery and she had some tables and chairs midship on deck 7 and also had some loungers all the way aft. I believe one side may be for smokers. We did see someone smoking out there but like I said, only on one side.
