  1. How do the prices compare? Same number of days? I picked adventure for new ports. I woukdnt have seen bonaire so april 2025 south does all 3 ABC. Prices just go up and up. I've only been booked a month or two and all I see are higher prices. I'd go with the better deal. I have wonder booked but john and bella et al picked it not me. I picked a eastern adventure, a xmas so ports dont count and a southern. Not for the ship. New ports. Sometimes ports away me. For instance you mention one with 2 new ports to you but the other ship is newer. I'd weigh but probably choose new ports depending on price. I look at the whole thing.
  2. The one I mostly forget is the $25 casino credit. Platinum? Be sure and ask for this if you get it and use it. Extra fun for free.
  3. I'm the opposite. What I like about oasis class is such a high percentage of balconies, with my discounts, sometimes a balcony is less than a inside cabin. Older ships dont have the inside balconies so balconies on older ships are a much higher rate vs insides. I love the cheap inside balconies. I like park cafe with the roast beef and bagels in the morning. I'm a fan of cruising at the best price I can find. I see you arent a fan. Luckily still lots of other choices. .. I'm looking for new ports more so than ships. But love big ships prices on balconys. Personally I'd wait to book newer ships but I want to do mardi gras (or jubilee) but I'm planning a move to cape Canaveral. The group on cc I've sailed with did oasis last spring break. Next group is wonder feb 2 2025, and utopia we added lately, only a 4 day. Not my picks. Wonder is right now my most expensive, but it's with friends. The ones I picked and added lately, were for seeing new ports when I move to florida I havent seen. DR, Bonaire.. others. Adventure april 2025, ABC islands. I know many are all about the ship. I also consider ports. 14 day dream jan 13 I picked for the ports. It does seem like I'm always picking between older ships with better ports, vs newer ships with boring ports. I'm a fan of more places to eat, more pay restaurants. Like mardi gras. I wouldnt have picked dream lol. But wanted the ports. Last carnival was b2b breeze. I'll have to cruise more when I move to get them all in.
  4. To me this slip is generic to fit all occasions. For instance I had one of those free drinks from loyalty but the screw driver costs like $1.36 over what I was allowed. Then they added 18% to the 1.36. In a case like this I'd add a extra tip. So there could be times when you woukd want to add extra. The slip to sign has to fit all occasions. (Though I was a bit annoyed to be charged anything for a free drink). Lol.
  5. There is another thread where a platinum cruiser also was surprised. Lol seems neither of you read cc until after but it's ok, nothing huge lost. The bottle of water you have to go get. All the perks you get, except the chocolate treat, platinum gets. You have to call room service yourself and order it or you don't grt it. There should have been a paper in your cabin where to get stuff, or ask on your cruise? The paper in my cabin was scan only and my tablet didnt scan so its lucky I already knew. Carnival still has them, but it's up to you to go fetch them.
  6. Not exactly what he asked for but there is always bread and random cheese on the buffet. Also fresh, the mexican place, has those things where they choose a tortilla around cheese. Or around chicken. They always have the cheese ones when I've been there. Different bread, but he might like them. I cant spell them Quesadillas...cheese quesadillas is what I was thinking of. And a bowl of cheese dip to dip them in
  7. All the drinks I saw coincidentally came to right about $14, the same limit I had on my vouchers. Want a iced tea, $14, want a russian iced tea, $14. Daiquiri $14, all flavours. I didnt ask about pina Colada but I'd bet $14. Drink of day i thought 10.99 for a frozen something. Not sure what you get what you pay for means regarding this. When vouchers are up to $15, the drinks will be $15.
  8. I think it was my dec 10 harmony that inside balcony was $16 less than a inside. Though supposedly I'd get a extra $50 obc on the inside that costs more. That obc wasnt combinable with my balcony discount on the group rate. So keep checking. Oasis class has so many more balconies, they can be less. ... more so than on older ships with fewer balconies. I'm not real picky, though I prefer to see out to something.
  9. The cost varies by cruise and date. These items will all be for sale in your planner but no one can tell you the cost for each item. Get a general idea and after you book look in your planner. Description of items and costs are there for your cruise. Royalcaribbean does dynamic pricing. .. never the same.
  10. Yes, as soon as you board find a dining restaurant or kiosk and make all 3 reservations. I try and avoid lobster night, the 2nd dress up night. Cant make reservations ahead for discounted packages. I've seen some very long lines for prime times for any time dining. That's why people make reservations. Rarely is it only a few minutes wait imo. I'm done with anytime dining on rcl. I do it on carnival but not rcl. I don't have the patience. I hate lines and waiting.
  11. Lol there is no other explanation for the high prices, other than they can sell at the higher prices so they will keep raising prices ... because they can. As long as people will pay more and more, prices will keep going up, until people say whoa! That's too much and bookings slow. I look at what I booked, even what I booked recently and everything is still going up. Lol those saying inflation is under control dont mean cruisefare.
  12. Are you booked? I can look at my planner for dream. I just see the steak place for $48 and green eggs and ham. No thanks to green eggs lol. Wish dream had more. If you are booked you can open your booking and see.
  13. Blame it on texas??!! Odd how royalcaribbean can start drink pkgs, vouchers, etc as soon as you board in Galveston though yes a slimmed down variety of booze until international waters. So its carnival not texas why its not started. It used to start day 1. I remember when carnival started right away and many said well if I wait I can save a day of cheers. People were trying to shave off cost. Carnival finally said not going to mess with this, we will start day 2. It's a carnival decision. I see know it alls posting on rcl threads all the time how you cant get drinks day 1 out of texas because they only did carnival before and are convinced its texas, not a carnival decision. I've cruised both for the last 20 years. Remember the olden days.
  14. You get obc for your shares, not for cabins you are not in. Sorry. Not unless the other 2 cabins have someone with 100 shares so they can submit for obc for their cabins. Not too late for that.
  15. Ships start after Thanksgiving. I would expect most of the decorations to be up by dec 4 and the music in the promenade and elevators changed to xmas music. The white night was changed to ugly sweater event. Bring a sweater.
  16. I havent seen cruise price specials on new bookings. Too late to price match for your cruise, its past final payment. I've gotten excursions on only a few bookings, not all had the sale prices. Also have seen the soda and wifi for $20 pkg. We all hope for some great deals. Last year coco cay access was supposedly half price. 99 for the rides and $149 for the other beach area with lunch. Pp.
  17. You have to call flr one to buy the refreshment pkg. Just call.
  18. If its before final payment and nonrefundable, then you can for $100. See this thread for the if ands and buts.
  19. I remember them not going when the u rest was close to labadee. Agree.
  20. Usually just show both boarding passes and they will let it pass. Bring for both legs.
  21. I remember when there was a gang related shooting out near the street at Megan's bay. People posted threads and threads, I'm never going there again. They were shot dead, not just shot, they died. I see people posting now asking how is the best way to get to this local beach. Clearly this will blow over, like always. .. and I see to remember a hold up of a excursion out of calif, west coast. Things happen then people shrug and move on. Both of these were over 10 years ago, but things been dangerous a long time.
  22. When I ate there in person, they added a mandatory 18%. Either way they charged me. The fish place in the aft also had mandatory 18% added. Lobster rolls. Twice. Lol This was shortly after covid resumption.
  23. Black friday sales can be great but they dont apply to every sailing evenly. Might be better or nothing.
  24. You can't just change from nonrefundable to refundable. You can change the other way but not back to refundable if you give it up. I booked thru next cruise and had to pay the extra for refundable deposit, then my ta could change to group space. He was stopping people from booking nonrefundable saying he cant then change it to refundable.
