  1. On my ships lunch is only open sea days for lunch izumi or lunch hibachi.
  2. Wasnt a cruise port hotel, but I've been booking hotels across america distributing quilts to family. My last stop I used hotels . com. I booked a huge king room, got a tiny queen. The hotel was clearly lying to me about it. Complained but the ball got dropped. Coincidentally i also couldnt publish my review. Pricelines express hotels are very easy to figure out. Look at the star rate and the number of reviews and almost always easy to match up. If not look at a few of the other things, like name of area. Not such a good deal anymore when they add a booking fee into the total fees and taxes. The main hotel I like to book in Galveston is usually on another site not that one, so I check all the hotel sites.
  3. I wouldnt make a reservation for the fixed price if you dont want it. If you just want ala carte, its walk up. The menu is the same all day, lunch or dinner. The same. I've made dinner reservations but I'm doing fixed price.
  4. I suspect it saves them a lot of money to not leave them in our cabins. Some like me dont even want a bottle of water so wouldnt drink it even if they left it in my cabin. Saved that money for them. Or they dont want that plastic luggage tag or whatever it is now. .. havent seen any $400 obc. That I'd want.
  5. I said I liked rcl dinners better than carnival. I didn't say posters werent complaining up a storm! Lol I maybe just was unlucky on breeze where I got steak that was all gristle and some beef that was all fat. I know my tablemate was better, just unlucky. My opinion. And imo as I said carnival does fast food better. Even their pizza is better. Last time on vista I did 6 nights of pay restaurants and lobster night in the Mdr. Dinnertime is when I changed to rcl for a while. I'll be on dream for 14 days in January. I turn diamond on carnival. I'm not lost, I go back and forth. Also the prices. Rcl discounts more. Hey if I could combine all my favorite things I would into one line at the best prices. No line is 100% perfect.
  6. You should do a mock booking with a refundable deposit to compare. If you are comparing to a nonrefundable deposit, they would have to change you to that. I'm not sure it's necessary to totally cancel and rebook but no harm if its refundable. Just depends if you really want to chea ge to a nonrefundable deposit.
  7. I saw pictures labelled swag. I think everyone wanted swag. Hats with a band saying presidents cruise. And wrist bands to get in a show, and some other stuff. Nothing to get too excited about. I'm moving next year and trying to cut back on this stuff.
  8. I think oasis class planner stuff seems to always cost more. I have one on mariner where things are less. Royal is always raising prices as high as they think people will keep paying. They said during earnings they think they can raise prices even higher.
  9. Carnival will refund fees and taxes of 2nd pax automatically to whatever card you used to pay when they are a no show. They woukdnt charge tips for someone who doesnt board.
  10. Yea rcl cutting hours. Carnival just added back a late night snack to their ships. They went the opposite direction. I would like more late night options tbh. I sleep for a while and get up and wish I could eat in the middle of the night without paying extra.
  11. What does Mario and how full the ships are have to do with presidents cruise reviews? Allure was overbooked 4 weeks in a row. Emails were sent out with offers to move to another date so I assume yes allure is running full. Allure is the ship used for this presidents cruise. This thread is regarding presidents cruise not some other random ship. When allure came in last Nov prices were high then because Texans were so happy to see a oasis class ship in texas. I was in a roll call for presidents cruise, but seems like more roll calls opened. Reviews dont seem anything great so far, but I've been reading them.
  12. I signed up right away when it was announced, before the price started to move. It was still a lot imo. Its july so summer prices are extra high, then my TA said cant use solo discount, the DP340. Though I've read since they later said ok to solo discounts, so maybe there wasnt a rush to book it. I'm not pinnacle or maybe I'd have gone, but it wasnt a inexpensive date, though I'm sure it's gone up since then. I cancelled once I saw the total price before DP340. A lot of folks in texas were already signed up, so one assumes got it for even less.
  13. I was once below the tread mills and we heard every step. This was forward on princess, but I imagine below the tread mills is noisy.
  14. You can book just one restaurant for lunch or dinner. Or chops + 1 is, 2, chops and another. Or usually a choice to book 3, or as you said on a 7 day book unlimited which is lunch and dinner. At diamond + I get bogo so I probably would just book 2. All week is a bit much for me. Just go to your planner and see what's available to book. As above poster says if it's a pkg they only book a courtesy hold 1 night then when you board, first thing you need to do is change it to what time or days you want. First thing before the best times are gone.
  15. When I did radiance only pizza was open until 3 am. This was the end of march early april. I've read since then now pizza closes at 1 or 2 am.
  16. If you only need 2 nights of pay dinner, maybe choose chops + 1. When you prepay it will charge you the tips. If I'm paying for 2 I'd pick a expensive choice, not a less expensive ala carte but you can do most but Hibachi for instance you pay another surcharge. They seem to be trying to discourage people from booking it. Doesnt include chefs table.
  17. Also the popup for $50 obc. My TA says not combinable with balcony discount. One or the other.
  18. I remember mama mia at 7 pm, next night 8 pm, another afternoon toward the end. 3 times kne week, 4 the next. So not the same times 2 weeks in a row. Its 2.5 hours with a 15 minute intermission. A guy next to me broke it up into 2 pieces. Half at a time rather than sit so long. Its fabulous but it is long.
  19. They do not cover stand alone Starbucks. The cafe however serves a Starbucks brand, looked like Seattle's best. Said starbucks.
  20. That's what my cruise is too. 20.99 pp for the key. I'm solo so it's actually a decent price is I didnt get 2 days free. Maybe your internet just hadnt been marked down yet. I'm at 17.99 for internet 20.99 for the key, so still $3 pppd higher for the key.
  21. Harmony high but mariner the price for the key not bad. This is mariner may 2 2024.
  22. Middle of last march they used it for the diamond lounge while they worked on it. We did see a great band warning up everyone enjoyed.
  23. Probably around next nov. It's not published yet, so just a guess.
  24. Seems like op is saying the same things I usually read. Carnival is better for fast food and lunch. I like their pizza better. I did not like carnival Mdr dinners, rcl better. Etc. I'd like to combine the 2 lines and have the fast food of carnival and rcl dinners. I miss good hamburgers on royal. Cant wait for dream and my next guys burger. And carnival white pizza.
