Lol well I'm glad you arent in lockdown after all. It's this condo wifi. All the sudden it goes offline for a few seconds, then almost immediately restores. When it went offline it must have done that, I was just clicking the back button. Wifi comes with my HOA payment but it isnt steady, it will suddenly go offline just as I click to email, ..poof. I hope it doesnt get worse during high season. Its annoying. Sorry. It was nothing I did, my wifi turns on and off at odd times. Must have done that post. Anyone tech, if I moved the router would this stop going offline just suddenly and restores in seconds and keeps doing this. They put router in the farthest backroom. Dont know if it's that or just how it is and normal.

It still feels like this is someone elses home or a hotel or a cruise ship. It's been a very long time since I did not live in a house. Tomorrow first saturday of the month my elevator says bingo tomorrow, first saturday of the month, bring a wrapped white elephant. Sunday is our party during dinner hours for Independence Day. The one working elevator takes so long I am sweating bringing a watermelon up here to bring to the party. I'm wondering how much I can carry down there now. I'm C and main club house is between A and B. I think tonight is a poker game. I finally went and bought those humps I saw for sale. I saw a cruise ship which had them on the balcony between 2 chairs, so it's hard to decide if they are foot stools or ok for drinks. I got 2 to out between the chairs if guests want to sit out on the balcony. Wanted very light weight so I could bring them inside. All those balcony pictures I see, idk if they face the sun like I do, but would be so hard on balcony furniture. Idk we had a hot tub, saw it behind a fence when I did water aerobics last tuesday. I can book lunch on wonder for early feb 2025. It took a while to show up. Last black friday all the lunches were on sale 40% off except hibachi was only 20% off. Right now I'm seeing 15% off. Lol I dont know I have any must see places in rome. I wanted to see athens greece, so booked a 2nd leg on the same ship next may. I cant even say rome was close to being on my bucket list, let alone solo. People said to me you are already there, you should see rome before you fly home. Good to know. I booked 2 today and feel at the end of my rope figuring them out. I booked a skip the line for the sistine chappel and it didnt say if it included admission. I asked the reply was I'll have your tickets for you no worries. I think ill have to get there by bus. Maybe a waste of money booked the 3 things I can walk to anyway as a walking tour. Lol I'm cruising and ending in rome. Idk about carnival but I booked more than 11 months out. Cant book flight thru the cruiseline or in general until about 11 months out. I just finally booked a flight home just yesterday. About fell over what rcl wanted, and turns out if you dont book to one of the five usa hub cities prices are crazy. I finally decided to fly non refundable air Europa into miami. It's the one thing I booked nonrefundable. I'm going to stay a extra 4 nights and do some sight seeing. Excursions in rome have also been a eye opener. I'm paying for lite, only a carry on. I could upgrade and check a bag, about $54 more. I did pay $25 to choose aisle seats. Changing planes in madrid. The day I get in royal wanted $1090 to fly me home. Sticking around their cheapest fare to orlando was $1510 and no way I was paying over $1500 for a flight. If you book ahead you cant book flights or have any idea how much they will be until approx 11 months before. I'm flying back memorial weekend here and a jubilee weekend in rome. Who knew? I was told expect about $800ish.. $1510 ..sorry omg. No.

I would look into a ov which will have more floor space, or a spacious balcony or even one of those cabins at the front with the big windows. Imo 2 would not allow walking space even if you could squash them in there. I'd consider a cabin with more floor space.

I'd guess your chances of going to labadee are slim to none. Celebrity cancelled labadee for the rest of the year. I'd say do t count on ladadee. Hopefully some other port will be ok with your family.

That's exactly why I didnt really look at hotel Giorgio. Looked at it now and its priced low non refundable, says I can add $22 a night to make it refundable. Brings it up to about the same as the others i was considering. Hard choice. Lots of good hotels. I just considered the ones listed as refundable, didnt dig that much beyond that before I booked a few days at a hotel. I'm considering adding more days.

Me too. Hurricane Ike. We left sunday and friday night it made a unexpected turn north and hit Galveston. I was on carnival conquest. Wasnt supposed to even hit the United stated, but it did. 6 month old car, with my collection of some very old collectable hawaii music I paid extra for because of the rarity. Never saw it or my car again. Just bought that Saturn from the showroom, 6 months before. I think the only brand brand showroom new car i ever bought. Carnival wouldnt let us cancel so I went. Dumped us in new orleans I had to get a meriam sized rental, I had my hc siter and her hc friend, with a larger walker contraption that wouldn't fit in a small compact rental. All on my dime. Never took a extra hc person again, too much.

CNBC keeping hammering on their theme that hurricane hit cat 5 and cruise lines down imo influenced the sell off. Brian on last call brought it up, hes a oil bull but showed nclh down 5.9% because of the hurricane. Premarket today again CNBC is on it again. Cruise lines down pre market because of hurricane and they will be keeping a eye onmthem. He also brought up oil, 1m barrels being released from reserve to ease the pain at the pump over the holiday and named off who bought them. I agree that hurricanes do affect the price of oil, but CNBC hammering negatively on cruise stocks also not helpfully. I'm sure this will pass. But knocked down the price for sure. When ccl has enough yearly profit for a pe, then hopefully it will come back more. Dont write it off, this is temporary day trading, they already moved on.

The hotels thread under Italy has a lot of hotel suggestions. I want to stay near the steps of trevi fountain/spanish steps. I hear there are a lot of bistro type places near there easily walkable. I dont want to learn and take the train around. A bit further out by the train station I've also seen comments the area is iffy, especially at night, so I stayed away from staying right near the train station. Hotel smeraldo is clearly favored by many on that thread. For me it was between smeraldo and another albergo santa chiara. Good area near the steps and can walk to almost all the places I wanted to see. I booked a few days so far at albergo santa chiara. The following weekend is a jubilee event weekend. So I'm waiting to see flight costs before I jump in to stay into the weekend. That hotel thread also has a link to which weekends have jubilee events. Will rome turn out to be busier for the jubilee, no one knows yet, but imo something to be aware of. Friday I should have royals sea2sea flight costs for thru may 29, but probably not further, possible thru 1 more day to the 30th. I figured 3 days was the least I wanted to stay possibly even a week. .. but as you say hotels arent cheap if you want to stay within walking distance of the best things. The vatican isnt walkable from where I'm staying, its list B, I'll do first what I can walk to. Vatican requires advance planning, buy a ticket on a certain day, then another date a skip ahead in the line to another line. I'd say prepare yourself it will be crowded. Depends how they are. We tried to cancel a excursion in our first port and they said too late. I looked at the ticket and it wasnt the time I signed up for, they combined 2 times offered. And 100% chance of rain. If I'd I'd wifi I would have proven it was not the time I signed up for but wasnt wasting 24 hours of wifi to prove it. Without being able to sign into my email I couldn't prove was a different earlier time. They said well we didnt change the time. I was told no. Friends also tried to cancel and also told no. Was our first port, I think day 3 like yours. Go fast to cancel.

I'm just saying what the day traders are thinking today. I dont see oil making a strong upward break. At least not now. Day traders gotta get together and find a play. Small fire wasnt enough to move the stock. Luckily small. I'm with cramer royal Caribbean at all time highs, highest on record I think but carnival cant make $20, he thinks ccl under valued vs what rcl is doing. But today was day traders. They didn't wake up and say oil is high, let's take down all cruise stocks. They said this hurricane could be a sign of what is to come, a very active hurricane season. Day traders just act together. They all get the same alert, let's all do this today. I get it you dont day etrade or get those alerts what they will trade today.

Actually cruise stocks dont react much to oil daily ups and downs unless oil tops 80 and starts to look like it will run. CNBC says traders got wind that the hurricane is affecting some cruise ships. All 3 are down today because of hurricane beryl or whatever name. Icon and wonder lost ports and rerouted. Idk about any carnival ships. Nothing that will have a large impact on profits.

Maybe its changed but there used to be some language in the faq about how you can't use prepaid cards unless they have your name stamped on them. Cant be the kind you buy in a store that are generic.
