  1. This information is good to know......thank you all for sharing.
  2. We just got off the Diamond to Hawaii last month. We saw every one of the televised NFL playoffs in our cabin and loved it!
  3. We were on this same cruise, I believe our 30th with Princess. This was our 3rd cruise on the Diamond. I share all concerns mentioned above. I would like to add that disembarkation was also a nightmare! It started late and had little crowd control. Those steel mesh ramps were frightening to say the least. Someone made a comment that the Diamond was putting its energy into getting ready to move their business to Japan and were not focused on current cruise ship issues. We will be on Princess again as we have future cruise credits. I finished my survey today and I had a lot to say. This cruise did not demonstrate Princess standards. Very disappointing.
  4. I am thinking that as we are both Elite and Club Class, we should be able to go right to the Priority line.
  5. teecee60....I am aware that we depart on the 6th, looks like I had a senior moment. Shelly97060......What excellent, thorough advice, thank you so much. We will use option 4.
  6. I am interested in knowing how one requests an embarkation check-in time. We set sail on the Diamond on 1-7-2023 to Hawaii. We are Elites. We do not have a smart phone as our lifestyle does not call for that, when needed we share an older TracPhone. Can we request a time via the Princess website? Thanks for any help with this.
  7. Thank you all for taking the time to give me this helpful information, much appreciated.
  8. Ferndale Girl......did you notice a line for Elite passengers?
  9. I remember long ago that Princess, right before disembarkation, would offer a specially priced opportunity in the computer lounge to check in for your return flights and print your airline tickets. Is this still available?
  10. Thank you so much for taking the time to share this information.
  11. Can anyone tell me which dining room on the Diamond Princess is Club Class?
  12. We will be doing a ship shore excursion in Waikiki. We have the option of continuing our stay in Waikiki on our own after the excursion but will need to find transportation back to the ship at Pier 11. What are our options? We do not use Uber. Is taxi service readily available? We are seniors from a small rural area and don’t have much big city knowledge. Thanks for any help.
  13. We concur with oaktreerb, May is one of the best months to cruise Alaska and we have completed 15 Alaska cruises so have some knowledge.
  14. We are loving that this cruise has returned. We have completed three 14 day Alaska cruises with HAL and have loved each one. We are hoping that HAL will offer it in 2024 so we can be onboard for our 50th anniversary.
  15. I used it two days ago and was very pleased with the service.
  16. My DH and I are planning to purchase Princess transfers for our next cruise. Is it possible to fly in the day before embarkation, stay at an airport hotel, and then return to the airport the next day (embarkation) with our luggage and use our transfers? Our goal here is to avoid having to arrive at the cruise destination airport at 7am!
  17. My DH and I would like any recommendations for a hotel near SFO. We will need a place that can provide transportation to & from the airport. Thanks for any help.
  18. Satxdiver: I am sorry to hear of your difficulty with this. I had problems with it too. My DH and I have older android phones which are limited. With the help of a friend, we got it done. What I want to share with you is that last month we boarded a ship in Seattle for Alaska. Both HAL and Princess were embarking passengers. In the check in area, I asked one of the reps what would happen if a passenger checking in did not have the arriveCAN done or, better yet, knew nothing about it. He told us that there is assistance in a designated part of the boarding area to help passengers complete the necessary work. When he encounters a passenger who needs this help, he gets on the phone and sets up an immediate a visit with the tech person on duty. We actually witnessed this happening. We were impressed with the great customer service. I am reading and sensing that arriveCAN may be eliminated in the future. Fingers crossed.....
  19. We just booked Hawaii on the Crown for September 2023. We chose this cruise because it is RT from Seattle, our favorite port as we live in Oregon, and it is easy to get to and to get home. It is the only Hawaii cruise from Seattle listed. Love the ports and we will get a full day and evening in Victoria. So pleased! Ottawa John you will be in Hawaii for whale season! Enjoy your cruise.
  20. Imperial Lady: My DH and I just got off an Alaska cruise out of Seattle at Pier 91. Embarkation was very quick and easy as the ships are leaving at an earlier time. We quickly showed our ArriveCAN info and were ushered on. We did notice that there were others that arrived with nothing filled out and had no idea what to do. Some of them knew nothing about ArriveCAN. The embarkation crew had staff ready in a designated place to assist those passengers with completing their ArriveCAN work. We were impressed!
  21. So glad to hear that your received great service on your flights!
  22. My DH and I have completed 44 cruises in the last 32 years on HAL, Princess, Celebrity, and RC. I have taken my plug-in hot rollers every time and have never been inspected.
