  1. When I have to get down on a knee or two it almost takes a crane to get back up again and that’s sad!😩
  2. Good morning. It’s a cool 48 degrees this morning and will rise to 74 degrees F. First of all @Seasick Sailor and @SusieKIslandGirl Happy Birthday!🎂🍾 Lot’s happening today. We did hire a new lawn service, our cleaning gals are here this morning and our new custom made mirrors for both renovated baths will be delivered and mounted this afternoon. Oh yeah, packing. We both went together and got pedicures yesterday afternoon. One of life’s great pleasures. Looking at all the tropical weather activity going on I foresee a possible future encounter as we sail down the Eastern coast. Thanks for the Fleet Report and Care list along with all posting contributions here on the Daily. Enjoy your day. Bruce
  3. Glad we get to try the Grill a couple of times next week on the Quest. Being our first Seabourn cruise we have been looking forward to dining there. We have enjoyed many cruises but do understand how specialty restaurant themes and menus; that hardly ever change, can get ho hum.
  4. Good morning everyone. We have been to today’s port of call on the Maasdam and we will have a return visit next year on the world cruise. Over the years I was fortunate to have some outstanding bosses. I’m relieved that I’m no longer a boss of over 800 great folks that’s main task was to make me look good. Though I did take an oath to obey the Colonel my beloved DW. @JazzyV Thanks for the Care/Celebration List and adding our upcoming cruise on the Seabourn Quest.I do hope it’s 14 days vs 7 as we would disembark in NYC versus Miami.😊 Have a man coming by this morning to look at my yard and give an estimate for maintaining it. Present service has not been acceptable even when he finally shows up. It’s our coolest morning this Fall as we are starting the morning at 47 F. Have not had chow mein in years and have no strong desire to savor again. Rich thanks for the Fleet Report and thank all of you who make the Daily our daily routine. Have a great day. Bruce
  5. Good morning friends. A cool 50 degrees this morning and will be windy later in day and cooler tomorrow. It’s our seven day countdown before flying to Montreal and cruise. Time to get serious about packing. We had salmon tetrazzini last night and it was very good. Will be getting my walk in later after it warms up a tad. Also need to rake up some pine straw and the mighty oak is messing up the driveway with acorns. Not sure the squirrels are happy as the acorns seem very small this year. Miss our beloved cats but with our travels it would not be responsible to have more. I’m hungry so I’m going to fix an omelet and have another coffee. Have a great week and prayers for those in need. Bruce
  6. Great tips thanks. I’m thing about the achoo response?😁
  7. @Cruzin Terri Sorry to hear there are issues.🙏 Called Cox Cable to see if we can suspend service during our World cruise and answer yes but need to do it 30 days prior. We also asked how we could reduce our monthly cost. Got rid of one cable box and tv we never use. Told to bring both cable boxes in to store. The replacement box is minuscule compared to old boxes and the new remote has voice command. Bottom line saving $100.00 a month. @JazzyVDo hope you can find some relief from that pain and medical issues. @57redbirdHope this weeks medical treatment gets his heart running smoothly. @dfishWas disturbing hearing about some of your issues. Our resident Betty Crocker needs to get well. Missing some but healthy wishes to all. Bruce
  8. Good morning! It’s 56 degrees out this morning and will only get to low seventies. Our dinner party was superb last night and we enjoyed fellowship with our dear friends. Church this morning and then I need to go to the base and get some last minute items for the cruise. It’s time to start packing as we leave the following Monday. @NextOne Thoughts and wishes for a successful upcoming heart surgery. Thanks for the Fleet Report and all who loyally post our featured post. Enjoy the day and have a great week. Bruce
  9. Nice pictures of Victoria today. Thanks. When we were there this year, in the spring, I felt like I was getting a buzz with all the pot smokers on the streets. Not sure if it was a result of my RSV shot yesterday but after my coffee and earlier post I went back to bed. Feel better. Tonight Sue has invited our neighbors over for a lasagna dinner and she’s making a cherry pie for dessert. Yum. It’s turning out to be a beautiful breezy day but tomorrow will be cooler. Time for my walk. B.
  10. Good morning! Currently 64 F. but Alexa says temps will rise to 82 F. Yesterday’s RSV vaccine has caused a sore arm but no other reactions. We have not discussed what’s on today’s agenda so just know a walk is in the daily routine. Those that are bald are having a field day of celebrations. I’m awaiting receding day. Still waking up so back to coffee. Thanks for the post and pics. Bruce
  11. We stopped at that roadside venue and enjoyed a wine and the bruschetta. Same man fixed our sampler. Fond memories. Thanks for sharing.
  12. Good morning. Just like that and it’s Friday again. Need to get moving today and get my walk in before heading to CVS to get my RSV followed by a much needed haircut. I received several nice comments last night from folks in our small Bible study group that I led last night. @mamaofamiSorry to hear that your Sam is back in the hospital. Thanks to all who contribute to the Daily. Per sister-in-laws all is well on the Eurodam. Enjoy the upcoming weekend and stay healthy and safe. Bruce
  13. Oh that Sears Catalog was definitely a dream book. The anticipation of when it was going to arrive. Much simpler days.
  14. A gray cool morning made it ideal to sleep in and I did just that. @cruising sister Happy Birthday!🎂 @marshhawkMay you both have a safe and memorable vacation. We’ve made it too our 11 day countdown to fly up to Montreal where we will board the Seabourn Quest October 24 for a 14 day cruise from Montreal to Miami. Excited on trying something new. Scheduled to get the RSV vaccine tomorrow and then I will have received the trifecta of this year’s vaccines. Tonight I’ll be leading our small group study so the pressure is on. Not really I’m ready! Thanks Rich for the Fleet report. Those BHB’s are all over the map. Vanessa thanks for the extensive list. To all of you thanks for your daily thoughts and contributions. Bruce
  15. As a loyal and true vet you deserve better.🇺🇸 Chief
  16. Looks great but your heart doctor must be throwing a penalty flag.😁
  17. About Barcelona ports bans. First it was Venice, then discussed changes In Amsterdam and other cities limiting tourist visits. Seems like a trend with either environmental concerns or crowd control or both. How much is this going to impact future cruising? I need to do some research as to how much cruise ships add to environmental pollution?
  18. Well if this is true visiting Barcelona will affect one’s visit. October 22 ban and restriction on where cruise ships have to dock. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/article-12610135/Barcelona-BANS-cruise-ships-central-port-bid-stop-pollution-choking-city-passengers-facing-30-minute-bus-ride-historic-centre.html
  19. Thanks for the link. IMO She was a lot prettier as a Blue Hull Beauty. Miss her but have found equivalents on other small ship lines. Prisendam and crew were special.
