  1. Doctor appointments were just six month wellness checks and we passed. My doctor did advise to get Covid booster, flu shot and RSV separately on different dates to avoid possible overload of reactions. Covid booster booked tomorrow. My doctor said he has not had to hospitalize one patient in a year for Covid. Covid is now your annual flu shot option. He prescribed enough refills that my pharmacy can override enough meds for entire world cruise. Today Florida, in our area, did not live up too being the Sunshine state. Overcast but just a few sprinkles. We could really use a good soaking. Dinner, Jeopardy, the Wheel and debates. Have a great evening. B.
  2. Good morning. Still dark outside and 74 degrees. Up early for no particular reason. Wasn’t planned but we both have appointments to see our doctor today. Routine checkups and we need to make sure he orders enough refills to get us through the world cruise. Our pharmacist said no problem getting an override on meds as long as they have enough refills. We haven’t decided how many suitcases yet but Azamara has $500.00 credit for any luggage fees. @NickelpennyBon Voyage! @Cruising-along Henry and Carolyn Happy Anniversary Not sure what’s on today’s agenda as our appointments are three hours apart but I do have time to get my walk in if the rain stays offshore. Good quote from Teddy Roosevelt. Just read Jeff Sharahs latest book on President Roosevelt. He was quite a man. Always too many on our Care List and prayers go out to all. We sure have a lot of us going on a cruise soon. Traditionally we always seem to have a booking this time of year in the middle of hurricane season. We have had some cruises affected by them but have not had any direct hits on our home while on a cruise. Thanks for the Reports/List/Recipes/travel photos and of course wine and cocktail recommendations. Most importantly too all who share what’s going on in their world. Have a grand Hump Day. Bruce
  3. @kazu. Sad to hear you have had another sorrowful experience in your life. My condolences. Keep an upper chin you’re preparing to go on another cruise.
  4. Your welcome. My heads up notification post on subject were removed. So I’m keeping shhh!
  5. Good morning. Currently 75 and lite rain. I have a dental cleaning this morning so maybe I can get a walk in later today but it will be in high eighties. In case some of you missed my late post yesterday free Covid test (4) are now being offered in the USA. @kazu Can’t you just put a couple of heavy blankets over your bulbs and leave outdoors overnight? Thanks for the Fleet Report and featured post. Have a great day. Bruce
  6. FYI. AMERICANS. Just watching news free Covid test again. Our 4 test are being sent Oct. 2. https://www.covid.gov/tests
  7. Talked to a neighbor today. We live in a development that’s built around a private golf club. One area has a small lake. His parents live in that area and they had two large black bears on their property. The bears then went into the the lake sat down with water up to their necks and had a leisurely cool down.
  8. Good morning. We have been to Port Chalmers and are scheduled to revisit on the world cruise. This visit we wanted to do the train but for some reason they are not running on the day we visit. Yesterday we cooked a Shawarma on the grill. Traditionally lamb but we had stacks of boneless skinless chicken breast on a spit plate. Interesting. I got up too early but the trash needed to be put out. Due to bear we no longer put it out the night before. He took a dump on my yard this week and I noticed when I stepped in it! As you well know it’s wash day. Currently 66 degrees and will rise in high eighties. Thanks for the Fleet and Care report and special post. Always nice to hear from everyone. Graham shame on you sending Pauline out selling chocolates why you eat blabs of bacon gaping at the ocean.😁 Have a great week everyone. Bruce
  9. Good morning. A short post as we get ready for church. Sue made a zucchini crust pizza last night from scratch. I wasn’t sure about it but the pizza was really good. Having friends over for dinner tonight and this afternoon will probably be NASCAR. Currently 62 degrees but will reach 89 later. Will try an get walk in after church. Thanks for the Fleet Report and have a great day. Bruce
  10. Was told that at two different ask the Captain gatherings. Also by a marketing exec. who was on a webinar with our TA and several Atlas bar bartenders. It’s been very successful on Onward and a money maker. The libraries are beautiful but we’re under utilized per management. Obviously this could change but that’s what I have heard on several occasions. Will see.
  11. The next dry docks for all the ships besides Onward most likely will turn the libraries into Atlas Bars.
  12. Spot on about Seabourn’s Roll Call and main CC page. Obviously with so few passengers the boards are very quiet compared to Hal CC and Roll Calls. Seabourn doesn’t have onboard Meet & Greet’s. We are 30 days from our first Seabourne cruise and there is no Roll Call. As you stated very few post on posted cruise roll calls. That being said we are looking forward to our 14 day repositioning cruise from Montreal to Miami on Seabourn Quest.
  13. We have sailed on 3 separate Azamara ships. They have all been similar and great. Onward is good enough that we are going to spend 156 days on Her.
  14. Yes the top tier suites have the good chairs.
  15. Good morning and welcome to the Fall season. Can’t seem to get out of my late to bed late to rise schedule but it’s not like I have to get up and go to work. We had an enjoyable dinner out with our friends last night. Great food and companionship. We’ll be headed to the Commissary for grocery shopping in a bit and then we have nothing else planned. Might go to our local brewery as they are having Octoberfest and raising money for charity. Food is being prepared by Knight’s of Columbus. Nice sunny day and “Alexa” says it’s currently 64 which I thought was a little too cool. It’s really 72! Alexa is getting senile. So that’s what’s happening in our neck of the woods. Enjoy your first day of fall. Bruce
  16. Also have no recall about your alleged statements but many of us have been there over the years. Mea Culpa if required. Your’e good to go.
  17. Understand. There was a lot of satisfaction in having a great roll call and wonderful excursions. It resulted in great cruises but there was frustrations at times from many who took our time and efforts for granted. It did take up a lot of our time. Sue still is my best Excursion Officer. She does a lot of researching and planning and we always have almost perfect vacations. So many cruisers have been rewarded from your dedication. Planning equals great vacations. Enjoy your upcoming and so well deserved and earned cruise. Your Roll Call members are so fortunate to have you leading the group. B.
  18. You do put a lot on your plate and I thought you made a good decision earlier to say you were cutting back on gardening next year. We retired from hosting Roll Calls which require so much time if done right. Decesions.
  19. @CruiserBruce Bruce, when you had lunch at Waterfront Warehouse in Halifax did they still offer seafood on menu? I just looked at website menu and didn’t see seafood. We always had oysters, full belly fried clams or lobster there. We have really enjoyed your post and thanks for sharing your cruise. We’ll be visiting Halifax on our Seabourn Quest repositioning cruise late October and planned to have lunch there. Bruce
  20. I agree. We are fortunate and have the capability of doing another World Cruise but do not want to repeat our 2024 Onward itinerary.
  21. Good morning! Well I stayed up late watching a documentary on You Tube (our favorite channel) and the result was I slept late. So I’m behind and as soon as I finish my coffee it’s off for my walk. Day plans are to go to Men’s Warehouse as I need a couple of new shirts for next months Seabourn cruise. Tonight we are taking our dear neighbors out to dinner on us. We so appreciate their friendship and support. They take us to airport at ungodly hours, pick us up upon our return. They also monitor our house, do walk throughs, start cars and basically house sit when we are gone. We are going to a local Italian restaurant that looks like a hole in the wall from the outside but has fantastic food. One has to have reservations to dine there. It is our small towns secret venue. Never know who your going to see there whether our mayor, congressman etc. Enjoyed our small group get together last night. It’s a beautiful sunny day so it’s time to get out there and get my steps in. Have a great day and weekend. Continued prayers for all in need. Bruce
