  1. Good morning and Happy Birthday @RedneckBob. It’s finally here. Going to be another beautiful day and a possible record high. We need to do some house cleaning today after our walks. Our house cleaner of almost 25 years has a herniated disc and has decided to retire after impending surgery. She is like family to us and will be missed. Last week at our small group get together I asked if anyone knew or could recommend a reliable house cleaner. Saturday I got a call from a lady who has been cleaning houses in our area for years. She is scheduled to come next week and states if you like my work then I will add you to my schedule to come every two weeks and at half the price we have been paying. She is originally from England and married a military man who retired here. Our previous house cleaner was from Spain and ended up here when her military husband retired here. So we are hoping this works out. In the meantime we have been doing a pretty good job of keeping the house cleaned on our own. Enough! Thanks to all who keep the Daily going. Have a great day. Bruce
  2. We sailed on Onward in January in a Club Continent Suite. Everything worked as advertised. In a Q & A with Captain it was apparent they had many challenges to overcome in order to launch last May. All the pipes were replaced. There were areas that flooring had to be replaced. A passenger on the maiden voyage showed me pictures that showed the ship was not ready to be launched. Well, the ship looked pretty good on our cruise and they are constantly working on keeping it that way. Crew was great, food warm and good and this cruise confirmed to us that we will be fine cruising in that same suite for 155 days on next years World Voyage.
  3. @JazzyVYes the black bears are in Florida and in this area they are spotted frequently and can become problem Teddy’s! Our property abuts the largest Air Force Base in the free world that encompasses over 426,000 acres. So their is lots of wildlife out there. We also have a neighborhood Bobcat, coyotes, fox and of course nosy raccoons.
  4. In my Auckland photos today if the cruise ship looked familiar that was P&O Line Pacific Aria formerly Hal’s MS Ryndam. I believe it has been sold again.
  5. Really enjoying following your cruise experience. Thanks.
  6. Rich, Again thanks for sharing your cruise with us.
  7. Just received a text from neighbor. Our trash can was turned over and contents scattered all over. We suspect bears as a couple of garbage cans were pretty heavy and laden with trash. Maybe large raccoons! Problem is once they start and find a good snack. My turn to take a deep breath!
  8. Good morning everyone. We are starting the day off with a dense fog alert and 58 degrees F but again we’ll end up in high seventies. We enjoyed our top down drive to the beach yesterday and returned home to a wonderful braised lamb shoulder dinner with carrots and parsnips as sides. Then Sue’s homemade blueberry cheesecake while we watched a flopped movie. It’s laundry day but with warmer weather and starting to wear shorts and short sleeve shirts the bulk of the load is diminishing. We have been to Auckland a couple of times and stayed at the Hilton. Great city and country. Pictures would be duplicates of what Sandi has already posted. As soon as it warms up a bit I’ll be headed out for a walk and I have a few errands to do. Oh the pressure of it all. Thanks for the reports and features. Take a deep breath, sit back and have a relaxing week. Bruce
  9. Not sure of recipe that was posted here but Google has lot’s of recipes. https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1021252-heirloom-tomato-tart …..and many more. Just Google.
  10. I see Jacqui @kazu has posted on roll calls today but I miss her post here on the Daily today and I believe yesterday.
  11. I’ll never forget our last cruise on the Nieuw Amsterdam when after over 400 days sailing on Hal we got upgraded to the Penthouse (Pinnacle) Suite. Remember transiting the Panama Canal while sitting in the hot tub on the Verandha. That will probably never happen again but great memories. First night I got up to use bathroom and ended up in walk in closet! Finally found a light switch and got redirected.😀
  12. Just received a lengthy phone call and thought I missed everything. Wrong.
  13. Now that I think about it if you can afford to live in one of those condos you definitely can afford an air horn.
  14. Years ago I started the Port Everglades Sail Aways here on CC. There has always been a few condo cowbell ringers but it does seem more ringers this season. Could air horns be in short supply or to expensive?
  15. A beautiful day at the beach. Beginning of spring breakers and locals.
  16. I really enjoy a good pot roast. Growing up the aroma emanating from the kitchen when mom was cooking a pot roast dinner is so memorable. My favorite pot roast recipe is Betty Crocker’s New England Pot Roast. The jar of horseradish really enhances the taste and it is not spicy. https://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/new-england-pot-roast/62e7a5db-7c08-427e-a57f-6e1adf370797
