No, it's not better. Get a room and take a cab or Uber.

Sorry you are experiencing this, especially when traveling solo. Did you purchase travel insurance (I hope)? Usually, there is a phone number you can call for help because it sounds as if you need help now, not two days from now, but I understand the difficulties when you are cruising. Yes, I believe there are no opioids on the ship. Windstar does not have a large medical center like some ships. Good luck and get that looked at because pain and swelling this long is not normal.

It’s actually personally blaming an agent, who has nothing to do with any delays/cancellations, etc. yesterday, the airport was a zoo because of spring break and weather. Pax who missed their flights seemed astounded that there was no availability for days. “What? But, I’m a frequent flyer, I need to be in XXX by 1700.” True story - a couple missed their connection due to a weather delay. I finally found them two seats on a flight that would get them home by 21:00. Nope, no good because the guy must be at work the next morning. No flights available on any airline for the next four days. They decide they are going to try and rent a car (good luck this week), and make the ten hour drive home from US to Canada. I urge them to check availability of rental cars and if they can take the car to Canada, but off they go. No idea what happened. And, I think today is going to be even worse. We’ll see!

Really? How do you know that? It just feels true?

Because of the long wait, your GE expiration date is extended up to a year, as long as you have an application in process. i turned in my renewal in Jan, got conditional approval the end of Feb., and had to do an interview, which I did on departure from NAS; I just asked an CBP agent if they could do it.

Windstar used to send out a nice pouch with all your cruise documents, including luggage tags, but as with so many cruise lines, those are no more. You will receive emailed documents ~four or five weeks before your cruise. If you haven't received them by now, contact Windstar or your TA if you used one. Be sure to print them out and have them with you, as some ports (Barbados comes to mind) will require you to show them for entry to the port. Luggage tags will be found at the ship when you check in.

Do cruise staff care who shares a bed in a double room?
6rugrats replied to anamaria_elena's topic in Ask a Cruise Question
I just wanted to make sure I understood correctly because I have never seen this question on CC. I am sure they would notice but this isn’t against any rules. -

Are you saying you want to share a bed with your dad? -
No, I have never heard of this. There are many rates, such as interline rates, not available to the public and there are some amazing deals. What you see as a $3000 price may be $600 to them and cabins are sold last minute that way. Get a job with an airline or hotel, for example, and you will pay much less. I don't think haggling in a market, or purchasing a car or house has anything to do with this question.

I have been on many Windstar cruises and as best as I remember, they always hold them and you have no choice IME. I’m not sure why this is an issue.

Princess Sapphire or Norwegian Jade for Alaska
6rugrats replied to Bogie76's topic in Ask a Cruise Question
Have you considered HAL? Between your two choices I would take Princess. -
I have had many loads of laundry done during Windstar cruises. Most of it comes back just fine, and you request that items be line dried if you wish. Are they kept out of the dryer? Who knows? I did have one cruise where dark items came back noticeably faded and one dress had spotted areas. I never send out anything that I value.

That should be fine, as long as your first flight is on time. At that time of year though, personally I would fly to IAH the night before.

Hospital deposit $12,000 Dominican Republic
6rugrats replied to Skjhoward's topic in Ask a Cruise Question
This is not “taking advantage.” It’s simply asking for payment for services. -
Not sure if possible, so why not ask those with more experience

It’s against BA policy to through check bags on two separate tickets even if both flights are on BA. I am guessing you are aware of the very high surcharges you will pay on a business class award ticket w/ BA, -
My February-March 2025 Star Breeze Tahiti cruises cancelled.
6rugrats replied to oakridger's topic in Windstar Cruises
I disliked my cruise on PG and wouldn’t consider them again. I have had several booked cruises chartered and most cruise lines do this. I was annoyed after Windstar did this a couple of times, and didn’t sail them for a long time. I now just book very last minute and it’s not a problem. I realize not everyone one can do this. -

I have booked several Windstar cruises in the past that have been chartered, and since this ship recently was renovated, it could be a charter. -
Wind Surf— is it very rocky in Caribbean?
6rugrats replied to schwingpat's topic in Windstar Cruises
Agree with 6986. Had very rough weather on the long stretches on this same cruise. Many seasick people. There is no predicting weather. -

Can’t they just pull up their reservation online and change their flights?
-
Logically, how is the airline going to move your bags? You would not see your bags if you arrived and departed from JFK. Your husband should check on the status of his application.
-
No, you must take your bags.

No one can predict when they will be cheaper. Just because they are double the price now, doesn't mean the airline won't open up seats later in a lower-fare class. I no longer track fares and never used cash to purchase an international business class seat in the past, only miles. All I look at are loads now because I want to non-rev in style.
