We are going next year. How was the weather? Did you see aurora? DON

What is pickle ball - never heard of it. DON

Your question of what the odds are is not answerable or at least unanswerable in terms of the way that you state the question. You have to provide a lot of information about your population group and also what accuracy you want your prediction to be before you can calculation the probability of an event occurring. I don't want to appear facetious but people take years of college courses to try to accurately answer the question that you are posing. DO

Based just on taste alone what would most of us prefer to eat - a salad or a bag of chips. I know my answer and remember I said taste alone. DON

I doubt that. Tell them to find some/ They are just being lazy. Good cooks use ground whole peppercorns and not that pre ground flavorless crap. It is in the kitchen somewhere. DON

If you really want to work w your photos as opposed to just looking at them on your phone a USB stick is easier. Yes I know that you can transfer them to your computer but for the price they charge you and also considering that USB stick cost almost nothing they should give them to you on a USB stick.

We did a recent trip on the Clipper Cruise Lines Star Flyer. The Star Flyer is a full rigged sailboat. Sailboats heel which is a lot of fun and the greater the wind the more they heel. Occasionally you get a good puff of wind. On this day we had a steady good wind so we were cruising along at about a 10 to 15 degree heel and the kitchen was handling it w/o problems. You all know where this is heading to. We got a really good puff and based on what 15 degrees felt like we must have gone to 20 to 25 degrees followed by a big crash and a lot of yelling in the kitchen. It was a hoot. BTW - l of the sails blew out at that time and the sail master or whatever they call him spent almost a week patching it. One of the things that he used was the biggest sewing machine I have ever seen. DON

Everything goes better w bacon. One of the things I like about cruising is that some of the lines make extra crispy bacon and I eat a lot of it. DON

You have my condolences. Chips are a very significant part of one of the of the major food groups - much superior to fruits, vegetables and stuff like that. DON

Brother in law refuses to use medallion app
donaldsc replied to debster11's topic in Princess Cruises
I don't get it. 130 posts on a topic when the answer should be "why does the OP care about what the BIL does as long as it works for him and he is happy. A bit of a tempest in a teapot in my opinion. DON -
My watch doesn't need any power. You just wind it every day or and it is happy. Sometimes low tech is best. DON

Check out the Northern Pacific Cannery National Historic Site. https://northpacificcannery.ca/ Sounds blah but it was extremely interesting. The town also has a really great regional museum. We spent 3 days in Prince Rupert on our AK driving trip and we enjoyed ourselves very much even when it was raining. DON

In today's world I don't understand why so many people have brand loyalty when almost every company doesn't have any customer loyalty. In my opinion brand loyalty w/o any company is for suckers. My attitude is that when you make a mistake and don't treat me right you have one chance to fix or or I am gone. In other words - twice is enough. DON

I would suspect that Major Marine or Kenai Fjords is the provider actually doing the excursion as they do most of the Kenai boat excursions. Check out both of their sites to try to match the Viking offering w the tour operator offering to compare tours and prices. Regardless of exactly what Viking is offering you should take the longest tour that your port stop allows. One advantage of the longer cruise is that they take you to 2 glaciers instead of 1. We have done either 3 or 4 Kenai excursions w Major Marine and they were all wonderful. Two of the advantages of Major Marine over Kenai is that you get reserved seating on the ship that is yours for the duration. Also I think that the lunch is better on Major Marine. DON

I would suggest that you repost this on the appropriate Ports of Call board. Your question will get a wider exposure there including people who are not cruising on Azamara. You might also post it on your cruise Roll Call or set one up if one does not already exist. DON

The Falklands is a total crap shoot. I have been there 3 times and we made it every time. We have a friend who has been there 4 times I believe and has not made it yet. The problem w the Falklands is that the entrance to the harbour can be very difficult and the bigger the ship the more difficult it is. You don't say if you are doing a 1 day Port Stanley visit or spending several days visiting the smaller outer islands. The latter provides a much better Falklands experience. DON

Check out the Weatherspark site on the WEB. It has climate data which is what you need for almost any city on earth. DON

Two stalks of celery and some lettuce. You can eat wisely on a cruise but you are also supposed to enjoy yourself. I can eat healthy at home. DON

Princess Cruises Reversible Jacket- Pre-Order?
donaldsc replied to FrankieJayIII's topic in Princess Cruises
A reversible jacket for $35 is probably worth at least $15 in the real world. DON -
Your king crab legs if you can get them were frozen when caught so it doesn't make any difference where you buy them, If they are available in your hometown just buy them there. DON

Ordering drinks not on Captain club menu
donaldsc replied to Baroquevenus's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Assuming that they have the required ingredients amd they know how to make the drink - that is their job to make the drink that you order. You should not have to bribe them to make it. DON -
According to WeatherSpark the average high at Talkeetna airport in August is 65 degrees. DON
