cruisegirl1 replied to Guinness1000's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We are on board and B2B and just learned that the upcoming 5 night cruise (Dec 17) has over 2650 guests with about 25% children. It us reported to be the highest passenger count since the return to sailing. m -
Number of passengers on the Jewel
cruisegirl1 replied to Guinness1000's topic in Royal Caribbean International
800 is incorrect. Just because someone puts it on a blog, or in a video, doesn’t make it correct. The ship has been and continues to sail around the 2500 range. m -
Not working on Jewel in either lounge. I’ve used a daily drink voucher for my morning coffee. I rarely if ever use all I’m allotted, so I figured I would just let it be charged to the daily drinks. I asked the staff about not being charged, and instead of using it against my vouchers, they thought I wanted to charge the fee to my account. Staff are only doing what they’re told, so no reason to be upset with them. m

Diamond Plus - No More Concierge/Suite Lounge Access
cruisegirl1 replied to DaKahuna's topic in Royal Caribbean International
This falls in the category of be careful what you wish for. If any group is restricted from the D lounge, it will likely NOT be pinnacles. m -
Serenade to add laundry facilities

Many sail for several weeks/months. And of course the world cruise is nine months. We’re not talking a week long cruise. m -
Concierge Club Access for Diamond Plus on Anthem?
cruisegirl1 replied to yogimax's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I would guess that D+ will have access to the Diamond lounge (only) unless they are booked in a suite. Since pinnacles are often denied access, there is no way D+ will be allowed. M -
Wonder of the Seas oversold 12/11/22

So how do they decide who has to move to an interior cabin and also who gets bumped ( if that is necessary) ? M -
Do they check if wine bottles are sealed?
cruisegirl1 replied to sweetpea2's topic in Royal Caribbean International
They inspected the bottles carefully at the Baltimore port. Not sure what they are looking for. Ours were sealed, so no problem. I can't imagine why it would not be sealed. M -
Super Bowl party onboard ?
cruisegirl1 replied to Tazdeb2180's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We’ve been on a couple of cruisers during Super Bowl. The game was shown in several venues (of course depends on the ship) and there were some complementary food. Last year we were on harmony on superbowl sunday , and the game was shown in the aqua theater. The food was not complementary. They were selling a couple of items from the playmakers menu. The ship gets a satellite feed, and does not include any of the commercials. M -
1st time in Bimini. We just want to relax on a beach
cruisegirl1 replied to Wayfairers's topic in Bahamas
Correction. Got my cruises mixed up. We are stopping at Bimini on a DECEMBER ( Not January) cruise. I'll report back earlier. We bought the ship excursion ( includes lunch) for $47 pp. Now it is $62.pp. It was a black Friday sale. RARELY buy a ship excursion, but lately we find ourselves paying $25-40 just for chairs and umbrellas. Lunch and transportation are included as well . Seemed like an OK deal. Plus the resort is (supposedly) closed to the public when a ship is on port. M -
Royal ship going to Bimini -- is this common?
cruisegirl1 replied to Pellaz's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Trip advisor and a few posts on the ports of call boards provides LOTS of great suggestions. We like to try to find a new place and will occasionally go back to one of our favorites. Of course we are off track as the thread is for Bimini. 😀 M -

Royal ship going to Bimini -- is this common?
cruisegirl1 replied to Pellaz's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I have a jewel of the seas cruise booked for later this month, with a stop in Bimini. The 5N cruise includes Bimini, two sea days and Cozumel. We are looking forward to Bimini as a new, stop, and Cozumel for a delicious local lunch and snorkeling. m -
Wasn't sure so we booked Resort World. I'm sure many will say to stay on the ship, but we don't want to do that for our first visit there. Our cruise is not until January. Water will likely be cold, but the beach and the resort look nice. In a rare move, we booked a ship excursion as day passes were not available through the resort. M

How to choose a Transatlantic itinerary?
cruisegirl1 replied to kj_connections's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We've chosen our TAs for specific itineraries. Our august 2023 includes Iceland and and an overnight stay in Iceland. 17 nights - a bit long for us, but the original 14 night TA was cancelled, and this was offered as a replacement. Only 7 (of 17) are sea days and the longest stretch is only 2 sea days. It will be different from the usual TA itinerary with more sea days in a row. We've only selected TA's that visit a variety of foreign ports. We've done US to Europe in the past because the timing (longer cruise/time of year) worked better for our schedules, but we did lose an hour a day for several days. This time we are heading in the other direction, so I'll be happy to gain an hour several times. M -

How often does the Chef's Table menu change?
cruisegirl1 replied to Smhp's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Be careful what you wish for. Lots of passengers wanted changes to the MDR menu. RCCL is playing around with some MDR menu changes, and many comments are not favorable. M -
Wonder of the Seas - Medical Diversion, delay
cruisegirl1 replied to sharktums's topic in Royal Caribbean International
They can actually be available at any time. We had a cruise return to port just a few minutes after departure (Grandeur 2019) then a few hours later ( 8PM) we were all told to get off because the cruise was cancelled for mechanical issues. We had to wait for terminal staff to return before we could disembark. Hotel, flight changes etc, whatever RCCL didn't reimburse ( RCCL gave a small allowance for each), our insurance plan did. We did have a difficult time explaining that we didn't cancel - the cruise line did. RCCL gave us a letter to submit for insurance. M -
Wonder of the Seas - Medical Diversion, delay
cruisegirl1 replied to sharktums's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Thanks Ken, doesn’t Independence need the dock on Monday? Sounds like it will be a mess regardless of the arrival time. We all realize the patient must’ve been in severe medical distress for this type of diversion. m
