  1. Keep in mind there are no diapered kids allowed in pools. We are a fami,y of 7, we were able to get 8 tops in the larger MDR very easily every night with no reservations.
  2. I’ve had a lot of teens on NCL, honestly they make their own fun, meeting up with other teens has always been the highlight, we only saw them at dinner and off of the ship.
  3. If they just want to see the beach they can use the public beach access right next door. He beach pass at Atlantis did not grant access to exploring the resort.
  4. On NCL we had to book our 19 and 20 year olds in a cabin with someone 21 or older. We were able to sign a waiver giving them permission to order beer and wine. ETA most hotels will not allow those under 21 to book rooms (a concerning issue with young adults away at college during Covid).
  5. On our last cruise our kids were 14, 14, 16, 19 and 20, good times!
  6. Entertainment is canceled frequently, GSC skipped frequently, DSC goes up every year, heck Bermuda cruises end up in Canada every year.
  7. Last time jet skiing for 7, the previous cruise we rented a cabana but GSC was skipped.
  8. You will not be paying taxes on drinks in Nassau. Booking a cruise for GSC is crazy, that tender port gets skipped all of the time fo to weather. Walk over to Junkanoo beach and rent some chairs. Cruise lines can legally cancel ever port of call and offer zero compensation. NCL wants folks on their private island spending money.
  9. When my kids were little, there would be no way they’d nap in anything besides a crib or pack and play (and the pack and play was iffy). They were crib nappers (excellent crib nappers). Just ask for one.
  10. I’ve cruised with teens several times (we now have 5 young adults), they would go to the teen club the first night, they’d meet new friends, and after that we’d see them for breakfast and dinner (I suspect that most teens don’t eat breakfast with their parents but we managed it most late mornings). Choose what’s best for you.
  11. How could it not lock? Many times total strangers are in connecting rooms. We are a family of 7 so have stayed in connecting rooms many times all over, we could lock the connecting doors.
  12. It was probably around that, I think when it first came out it wasn’t free at all, then it was offered free with no gratuities, I believe, and my next cruise we had to pay the gratuities (and of.course the package price increased a lot).
  13. As someone who actually paid for the package in full when it first came out, I was very happy to just pay the gratuities the next time.
  14. How much does it cost to park at the circle line? Is it a secured lot? It’s $280 at the pier for the week.
  15. My niece is here right now scheduled to fly out of Newark airport (10 miles away) to Chicago tomorrow afternoon. What are the chances she’ll get on that flight?
  16. I don’t think it’s just NCL, they want you to go to the medical center. I have always packed literally anything I could possibly need (mom of 5, travel meds stay packed and replenished).
  17. We’ve done Atlantis on cruise stops different ways, see how much a day pass is through Atlantis. A taxi is only $5 pp.
  18. Uber x? How old are the kids, do they need car seats?
  19. Uber to Newark Penn station, take the path to world trade. You could also Uber to liberty state park, take the ferry to the SOL/Ellis island (tickets purchased in advance), get on a NYC ferry, then 9/11, then path back to Penn station. If you just go into the city, the Staten Island ferry is free and will go by the SOL, you will need to get back off and back on to return to the city.
  20. If you drink more than 2 beverages it makes sense to do the package, especially now that you can bring unlimited wine on with it.
  21. I have 5 young adult children, I was never naive, but when my 24 year old son was a high school sophomore, for some reason with our cellphone account I was getting the varsity boys soccer texts on my iPad.
  22. Does this friend know that international phone plans don’t usually work at sea?
