  1. Compozer,  I have only stayed in Suites on three different lines.  I will say each line has certain benefits or perks that are unique to that line.  So over the past 15 years I still enjoy the extra cabin and balcony space and the extra perks.  Thanks for sharing

We have booked a Caribbean Circle cruise for February next year, we can’t wait. Thank you for your review. Please could you tell me what the dessert is with meringue?

    Many thanks 😎

sorry,  just saw your post;  and someone beat me to your question.  Yes it is Baked Alaska and yes Princess serves it every cruise.  I believe they serve it on last formal night.  Have fun;  we did

Thanks so much.  Our friends just booked the concerts at sea and we are thinking of booking the regular cruise as long as there are still plenty of the regular things to do - and maybe we could hear the music at different times as well.  I don't think there are too many places on the Regal that could totally be closed off other than the theater perhaps?  Sounds like a great time!!

Hi,  here is how the concerts work.  Like I mentioned; most concerts are during the afternoon or morning.  So your friends may attend a concert in the theater prior to pulling into a port; or they may go to a concert like 5pm when the ship sails at 5pm.  Club fusion and skywalkers were used to provide oldies music.  Concerts at Sea brings their own house band with them; and they played in club fusion; they also bring their own disc jockey's who played in skywalkers.  They have staff who sit outside the venues and check your wristband for entry into the various venues.

  4. Compozer,   I was in a Penthouse Suite on CB in Feb.  We had a great time, and not sure what you mean by the good old suite life is gone?  Slippers, bathrobes,  umbrellas, fruit, minibar, cc dining(no wait), breakfast in Sabbatini's was very good. Flowers, canapes every day, same day laundry, breakfast in suite, escorted onto ship.  All was good.

  5. HBCruiser,   have fun with your mom.  I loved this review of the Star.  You cover everything so much and love all the pics.  You are going to love the medallion program and medallion net; the blazing fast wifi.  We could stream Netflix without any buffering.  So cool.  Princess has some nice suite perks.  I have stayed in both family suite and Aft Penthouse suite.  Both were very nice; and we felt pampered by the staff.  Hope you experience all the perks the Princess has to offer

  6. HBCruiser,   the ocean ready app has some issues.  Last month when I filled it out I got two green checks and ordered my medallions.  A week later both my wife and I got red X's saying we were not ocean ready.  So don't sweat it; once you get to port it will all work out.  Also regarding suite benefits.  I too have been in Penthouse Suites with both NCL and Princess.  I think NCL Haven guests have a few better perks than on Princess.  Princess does not have a haven;  suite guests board at same time as Elites on Princess.  You should have someone meet you at the port and they will escort you to the elite lounge; and then they will escort you the ship.(at least they did for me last month).  Suite guests on Princess do not have a haven area; you do have club class dining which is nice; not having to worry about dinner reservations; you do have breakfast in specialty restaurant every morning. Your balcony should be quite large, and you will have snacks delivered every day; plus you get one mini bar setup.  There are other perks; but you probably already know about them.  Most of all have fun.  And to all of you who are reading this post; and are on this cruise.  Have tons of fun.  Cheers

  7. Cindy. Hello. Yes I did attend the CAS(concerts at Sea).   None of the concerts interfere with the Princess shows.  Most concerts are during the morning or afternoon in the theater.  On Caribbean Princess both club fusion and sky walkers were reserved for the concert at sea events.  However these events took place from 8-10 pm. After 10 the venues were open to the rest of the ship.  Let me know if you have any more questions

It’s a slightly larger IC and the Pastry Shop in the buffet has specialty coffee.

This is what you saw in the video in the Piazza & as I recall there’s an additional fee for these teas.

Tea Tower – Featuring a tea sommelier and a choice of 250 blends, tea lovers will revel in Royal Princess’ unique tea tower located in the ship’s central Piazza. Here passengers can enjoy pre-blended tea varieties or create their own custom flavors. The ship’s tea sommelier, an expert on tea blends, will host tea tasting events and a new Royal Afternoon Tea Experience, inspired by some of the most famous tea spots in London.

Thank you very much for this info.

  9. Does this ship have a coffee bar much like the grand class ships do or is it more elaborate?  On the princess website under regal princess there is a video.  at 24 seconds into the video they talk about coffee and tea blends; and show a princess employee holding a spoonful of tea leaves.  Can anyone tell me what this is?  Thanks.
