Hi yes, I did just actually change the cruise.  After all the great advice here, I thought about it and didn't want the added stress of worry of weather, hotels etc..... so I just changed it to a day later out of Miami lol.... shorter cruise but at least the weather should be warmer off the get go and not as stressful worrying about storms and hotels!  thanks again!

Good for you.  Can't go wrong with Miami in Dec/Jan

  2. Thank you for your good review;  a couple of observations; you mentioned there were no staff members dancing at the sail away party;  maybe you were at the wrong pool area.  I made this mistake last month.  Was standing over the pool area; only to find out the party was at the other pool area about 50 feet away.  I have been asked if I want my chai tea hot or cold; but never been asked if I wanted coffee in it.  Keep it coming

  3. Here are a few tips for your sailing. The two apps you will use the most; should you choose to use any; will be the ocean now and ocean concierge/compass.  Ocean Now allows you to order food and drinks from the app or find a shipmate  and the other allows you to check daily patters, order room sercice, check your cruise folio and also has deck map.  Enjoy. If you have any questions come back and ask. Have a great time on your cruise. The digital touchscreens by the elevators have all the same info too.

  4. Well there was a royal caribbean cruise with a few young adults and one of them jumped off the ship in port at nassau. His reason was; he was still drunk from the night  before and his friends dared him to jumpbecasue they wanted to post it on social media. Needless to say it made the news and he and his friends are barred from sailing Royal Caribbean

  5. Last month we ate in Crown Grill on CB.   The night we were there every

table was full. There was plenty of waitstaff, bus staff and bar staff. We were served in reasonable time. It took 90 minutes.  We were not in hurry and like I mentioned it was a full load that night.

  6. Roce48. My very first cruise in 1987 was on Majesty of the Seas.  We had a ocean view cabin on deck 8.  Here is my feeling. I take a cruise every two or three years.  I sail on different lines so I don’t have any status with one  line. So to make sure My wife and I can have fun and take advantage of the perks we book a suite. We like the extra room that a suite provides, we like not having to make a dinner reservation, we like having reserved seating in showroom. There are a lot of nice perks on the different ships and lines that the extra money it costs is worth it to us.  Yes I know we could get a smaller cabin and use the money for shore excursions.  We do not live near a cruise pirt so we have to fly anywhere to cruise.  No a big deal. It is nice to be taken care of for entire vacation. Takes the stress off. Cheers

  7. I have not been on Carnival Vista; however, you will be able to store your suitcases under the beds;  that being said; bring a cosmetic bag that can hang over door or hang on a towel rack in bathroom.  Also, you may want to post your questions on the Carnival board.  Have a great cruise for your bday.

  8. My first cruise was on Royal Caribbean's Majesty of the Seas.  I remember boarding her in Miami back in 1987; I could not believe the size of this ship or how it sailed being so big.  We had an ocean View cabin on Deck 8.   I will never forget out waiter; his name was Richie;  he was from Yugoslavia,  and since we were first time cruisers we did not know you could eat as much as you wanted.  Richie would say to us; "it's your vacation; have as much to eat as you want".  Boy did we have fun.  We were on a family cruise with 8.  This was first cruise for everyone.

  9. I have sailed in owners suite on Freedom of the Seas, Penthouse Suite on Norwegian Jade, Penthouse Suite on Caribbean Princess, Family Suite on Emerald Princess, Junior Suite on Adventure, Splendor of the Seas, and Grand Suite on Explorer of the Seas. All these cabin had unique features and we enjoyed them all.  Next up will be window suite on the new Sky Princess.
