  1. Thank you for that explanation, it makes complete sense. I was just thinking because my cruise substituted PV for SD, they could do the same but I was comparing apples to oranges so to speak.
  2. Very good point. Sounds like it’s a fraudulent charge.
  3. This is the reason I set up a cash account once on the ship, especially now that they send your final invoice via email. I’d rather not try to sort any errors out once I’m off the ship. Easy Peasy.
  4. They could call on San Diego instead. That’s what happened on my Sapphire cruise last September due to the tropical storm in Puerto Vallarta.
  5. While I’ve been on Princess before, I did my first 7 day solo cruise last November. A couple of days before the cruise I was kind of freaking out and thinking what am I doing? As soon as I walked on the ship, I got a Prosecco, sat in the Piazza and had the biggest smile on my face, I was so excited for the adventure ahead. I had the absolute best time ever! It was one of my favorite cruises. What was really nice is just not having to coordinate with anyone else on what they wanted to do. I could change my plans at any moment and it was great. A couple of times, I just grabbed a drink & burger for lunch on my balcony and it was great. I met a lot of great people and would meet up at the pool or hung out at The Take Five jazz club every night. I love Princess, they are a little more laid back but have so much entertainment going on. This was definitely not my last solo cruise, I can’t wait to go again. Have a great time!
  6. I’ve been on three cruises since April 2022, I only wore masks when required getting on and off the ship on the first cruise. I was fine, caught it on my second cruise, in September ( very mild)then I was fine for my November cruise. Didn’t have to fly for any of them. It’s just something we have to learn to live with now. It’s not going away. Going to Alaska in July on the Encore and I can’t wait. If I get it again, so be it.
  7. Thank you for your detailed answer. I still have time to try and change their minds.
  8. Would like your opinion, please. We are doing a big family cruise to Alaska from Seattle in July, I always fly in a day or two before and will do so this time. My DB & SIL are planing on flying in from BUR (Burbank airport) to SEATAC the morning of the cruise, first flight out is around 7AM, it's a 2 1/2 hour flight and I am trying to advise them not to but so far no luck. Is this actually doable for them? I'm thinking if anything goes wrong, they're missing out on the cruise. Thank you!
  9. The mini's on deck 8 are completely covered. If you can snag either E728 or E731, those have a bigger balcony that wraps part way towards the aft. Caribe balconies are half covered. You can't go wrong with either.
  10. Even with a refundable deposit, you have to cancel in order to get your deposit back. It's not as simple as not making final payment, then they refund you. If you don't make final payment, they cancel the cruise and keep your deposit. It happened to me on a Princess cruise, I knew better but I had a brain lapse and thought I'd get my $200 bucks back, nope. Lessen learned.
  11. psuboater gave you some awesome info. I'll be in Seattle on a cruise in July and while I've been there before, it's been a while. Pike Place Market is so much fun, you won't be disappointed, keep in mind, it can get very busy. I've been watching YouTube video's on places to eat, where to stay and must see things to do. I would recommend that for information as well. Have fun planning!
  12. I'm cruising in July on NCL, so Pier 66 and have been looking at hotels the last few days. I've been to Seattle before, it's such a beautiful, fun, foodie city. I haven't stayed at The Warwick but I looked at reviews on Yelp and they were just OK, so you might want to keep looking. I would look on Hotels.com and it will give you a list of options with prices and then you can go to the hotels website to check for better prices. Hopefully someone who's stayed at The Warwick will chime in. I narrowed mine down to two, The Paramount Hotel which I've stayed at before, is wonderful and is an easy walk to Pike Place Market and the Monorail for The Space Needle. My other choice is The PaliHotel which is very close to Pike Place Market. I'm leaning towards that one only because while I'm traveling on the cruise with family, I'll be in Seattle the day before by myself most likely, so I'm a little leery of walking around alone. Seattle hotels in the summer are going to be on the expensive side, my two choices are a little over $300 per night. It is what it is. Good Luck on your search!
  13. Funny story, the picture I posted was after the bed was set up as a queen. I was sailing with my brother and when we walked in the room, he said oh, ok, I’ll sleep on the sofa. I told him the room steward will put it into twin set up. He actually thought they were going to swap out the bed for two twins, he didn’t realize they just split apart. He said he had visions of the poor guy shlepping beds down the hallway. 🤣
  14. I book my cruises with the price/cabin I’m willing to pay. By NCL offering a beverage package for an extra $152 for the week as opposed to paying for drinks as I go, it’s a no brainer for me.
  15. My “free” beverage package for my July, 7 day Alaska cruise is costing me $21.80 per day for the service fee. I will never, ever complain about that. For me, It’s a steal!
  16. I agree completely. The original one is my favorite.
  17. The first one is from September on the Sapphire and the second is from Discovery last month.
  18. Just go to the Princess Website and there is a section of what is prohibited to bring onboard.
  19. I don’t know but your post is kinda funny with your screen name being what it is. 🤣
  20. Pretty sure you can. I did when I was in my aft suite on the wood padded lounger. Best. Sleep. Ever! An inflatable mattress is another story.
  21. Keep checking, it probably will come down at some point.
  22. Not excusing her behavior but I can’t imagine what it’s like to have mobility issues and trying to get into an elevator. I have seen people in scooters waiting for elevators and people just rushing past them until it’s full and they have to hope they’ll get in on the next one. She must have just been at her wits end.
  23. The nice thing about the package is if you try a drink and don’t like it, you can order something else. I’ve found that the same drink you order can be made very different from bar to bar. There are lots of people ordering Bloody Mary’s in the morning. I’m not sure what time you can get one but I would say by about 8am or so. Here’s mine on my recent Discovery cruise, it was yummy.
