  1. If Cheers was not profitable for them, they would have discontinued it years ago. They don't offer it just because it's convenient and a money saver for passengers. They offer it to make a buck or two. 🙂
  2. The Yucatán was my favorite of about three I tried. That was my go to drink.
  3. My first cruise was in 1999 on the Elation, it was our honeymoon and they did in fact do this. I have a picture somewhere of my now ex husband with two of these ladies, one on either side of him dressed in elaborate Vegas style costumes.
  4. When we were on the Freedom to the Caribbean a few years back, the waiters in the dining room were asking people if they wanted to stay on for the next sailing. It was for a ridiculously low price. We wished we could have taken advantage of that but we had work/school.
  5. I’m sure there is a fair amount of people that do this. When I was on the Discovery in April, I ordered a margarita at Crooners and it was just way too sweet, didn’t like it at all so I ordered something else. Then one night at dinner, ordered an Aperol Spritz and didn’t like that, ordered wine instead. While I don’t like waste, this is what’s nice about the package.
  6. I always have lunch in the dining room on embarkation day. It's such a nice, relaxed way to start the cruise.
  7. Discovery was my first Royal class and I just loved it. So stunning. Thanks for your take on it.
  8. What did you think about the Discovery?
  9. On Princess you cannot cancel any cruise on-line. You do have to call.
  10. I sure will. When we board though, Sapphire will be down the road at Berth 46, so embarkation will be different for us. We will probably be checking in at the regular terminal and then get shuttled to the ship. I'll let you know either way and I'll keep her in good shape for your trip to Hawaii. 🙂
  11. I am on the first sailing on Sapphire 9/24 and am now hopeful that they are just capacity controlling these sailings that have been showing 'unavailable' for over a month now rather than canceling them like they did with the Diamond sailings 3 weeks before embarkation for those folks. We'll know one way or the other soon enough.
  12. In April, the Elites, Suites & Plats were in that one area immediately to the left after the screening, it was so crowded, standing room only. I wonder what determines how they break it up.
  13. Thanks for clarifying, they do. In San Pedro, the waiting area is for both but they do call Elites first to board.
  14. They are bundled with the Elites for check in & boarding.
  15. You can bring a bottle or two of champagne aboard to celebrate sail away and definitely go to the buffet & IC to get food/snacks for the balcony. Best way ever to do sail away, especially from NY! Enjoy your cruise!
  16. I’m cautiously optimistic now, but any TA is not going to know anymore than we do as far as if the cruise is a go or not. I really hope they are learning with past sailings and are capacity controlling these cruises by cutting off the bookings. I may just have my Caribe balcony 10 day birthday cruise after all and all the sailings after mine will be good too! Fingers crossed for all of us!
  17. One that is the best change since Covid is the E-Muster now. You don’t gather at your muster station with hundreds of others like before. You watch the muster drill on your mobile device or in your stateroom and then check in to your muster station and you’re done. Easy peasy.
  18. This actually makes sense. It might also explain why all of the 2022 sailings on the Sapphire are showing ‘ currently not available’. The rep told me a couple of weeks ago when I called that they are sold out, which I know my sailing on 9/24 was not. Maybe they are capacity controlled. I sure hope this is the reason. Fingers crossed they don’t get canceled which is what I’m thinking is going to happen.
  19. Gigi’s will be open as well as the World Marketplace buffet. My favorite is the dining room for lunch, it’s just a nice, relaxed way to start the cruise. Check the Patter for which dining room is open. I was on the Discovery in April and she’s an absolutely stunning ship. Enjoy your cruise!
  20. Is coffee at Cafe Al Bacio included in the Classic package or only with the premium package?
  21. Yeah, I checked the numbers and I'll book the AI fare. Thank you for that info. No, I'm not Diamond with Royal, someday hopefully.
  22. Do you happen to know the price of the basic & premium drink packages if I were to get them before sailing and then on board?
