Good afternoon. Thanks for the Daily. I fly the flag daily (lit at night). Not a bourbon fan. I used to be a blood donor (and bone marrow), but can't now (and aged out for marrow donation). I have a big old claw foot tub, but shower all the time. True quote. I'll pass on the meal and drink. I'll take the wine. I haven't been to Alofi. Thanks for any pictures. There were storms overnight, but luckily no power outage for me. I didn't even hear the rain overnight. Now it's quite humid. I got the rest of the bushes trimmed yesterday, so I'll relax today. And I have a very early dentist appointment tomorrow. I got an invitation to my 50th 😮 high school reunion! I think I went to the 20th or 25th. For the 30th it was the weekend before starting a new job and I didn't want to risk traveling and getting stuck and missing my first day on the job! Good morning. Thanks for the Daily. Ball point pens are indispensable; growing up I liked fountain pens, but they were messy. Herbs and spices add so much flavor to our meals. I love peach iced tea. Great quote by a favorite author. I'll pass on the meal (fish), drink and wine. I haven't been to Maine by land or sea, even though I went to school in Boston. It's sunny and going into the 70's today. I'll try to get the lawn mowed before it gets too hot. Some rain this weekend. My barium swallow was normal; I was feeling like food and pills were sticking, so not sure what that's about. I'll see how it goes. Our county was just put down to "medium" Covid transmission from "high", but hospitalizations are up 25% and deaths up by 12.5%. We have a fairly elderly population so that may be part of the explanation. I have to keep my guard up! @cunnorl Hard to believe your friend's DSIL's mother flew and visited with a positive test; so inconsiderate. @Cruising-along Thank goodness that tree branch missed you! I'll appreciate any pictures. It's cooler and cloudy here today, after storms last night. I was up at 5:45 and at the hospital by 7:15. I survived the barium swallow. The worst was the first fizzy drink that was both sour and salty. It's sunny and not too hot or humid; actually cool this AM. I should try to mow the lawn. I was concerned yesterday, as I started having itching. I suppose when a medication is injected, it can have a slow release and longer lasting side effects. Although I figured any really bad allergic reaction would have taken place sooner. I've never had an allergy to any medication, so this is new territory, and living alone, one worries. So I took a Benadryl last evening, and went to bed early, as it is sedating. I'm chilly with the window open! Our weekly county Covid numbers are up, with 159 hospitalizations and 15 deaths. It's definitely not over, as some think. I again had itching and a welt at my injection site, so I sent pics off to the doctor's office; it seems to lessen as the day goes on, then recurs. It's tolerable, but I worry the next one may cause a worse reaction. @kazu Wishing you peace and strength. @dfish Good that your doctor's visit went well and you're more informed now. After I woke up I noticed itching on my stomach where I'd given the injection, and a raised 1.5" swelling. It's not itchy now, but still a raised area. I visited Kona in 1992 on a trip to Hawaii. I used to shoot slides back then, but scanned some into the PC. I was at the Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau National Historical Park. This ‘place of refuge’ was a safe haven for those that broke the Kapu laws, which in old Hawaii were punishable by death. If you reached the Puʻuhonua, you would be pardoned by Kahuna and given a second chance at life. The Hale o Keawe Temple, guarded by carved wooden Kiʻi.
