Not that I ever thought the ships looked old inside based on these pictures and descriptions the ships will look new and great. Nice to see beginning of the refit style
I found even with open dining after the first couple of dinners they knew where we wanted to sit ans as we approached they told the waiter to take is to table xx. Worked out great - we generally don't eat with others on cruises.
Been on several cruises on Crystal where there were kids but you really wouldn't have know it - they tended to stay in the special kids play area and when they were in public they were well behaved. Probably make more difference in the parents and how they keep their kids in line than whether there were kids there. Of course there were never a lot of kids
Most Crystal cruise I can remember someone walked into the dining room on formal nights in jeans - I never saw anyone from Crystal go up to that person and not allow into dining room. Why would someone "violate" dress code like that?
I also met and talked with Bruce McGill on the 2019 Tokyo to SF cruise - he was great to talk to and not at all like the character he played in Animal House A role i think he'd like to forget
Reducing worked on Firefox on a Mac also - but what % of people would even think of doing this. Crystal needs to fix - so far the NC isn't better at web site than the OC was.
I certainly remember cruising on Harmony - then when I first did Symphony it was such an upgrade from Harmony. Wonder what it will look like after this refit.
Obviously not totally related but the new Explora Journey has cancelled a bunch of cruises this summer - sounds as if are having issues getting going.,
Just meant in Triest - again Symphony was switched to bow in a couple of months ago while Serenity was bow out - now a long with the announcement that Serenity is in dry dock they get their directions switched again. Maybe how those docks are set up
Saw that - interesting that it is in the same location/dock as before but now facing the opposite direction. At the same time - Symphony out of dock was switching facing direction. Symphony had this direction switch also a few months ago. So they dry dock when bow pointed in and aren't when bow facing sea.
As of right now Symphony is under power heading away from Triest dock. Not far so maybe just heading out to turn around but it is away from dock under power
The first regular size cruise ship is here in Portland, ME - we've had a couple of the very small ones in the last couple of weeks but nice to see the real season starting
One of the things we all need to remember is that one cruise on a line may not tell the whole story. I was on a Crystal cruise back in 2012 (along with several others on this board) and if it was my first Crystal cruise it would have been on my only one. One of my worst cruises was on Regent but obviously from other comments and reviews it is a luxury line.
The only thing we should all agree with is that there is nothing close to as good as NY pizza 🫠
