  1. That discussion went off the rails quickly... Back to subject at hand? We have also been considering MSC, especially because they sail out of NY and Port Canaveral. We are mostly Princess cruisers with sprinkling of other lines here and there. We tried NCL's Haven last year and liked the experience but are not huge fans of NCL's regular product for various reasons. MSC's YC seems to be similar concept for less of the price tag. Anyone sailed both MSC and Princess and what were your thoughts? Also, in general my biggest issue with NCL were smoking areas of the ship and their locations. I felt like the whole ship stank outside of Haven. With MSC being European line, how bad is the smoke?
  2. We have visited Lanzarote at the end of November of 2021, weather was amazing for hiking and enjoying outside. Ocean temperatures were cold so we didnt swim, but my DS did. Thank you for putting this cruise on my radar! I'll be looking for it.
  3. We have been on Tahitian (no longer sailing 😞 ), Caribbean, Crown, Ruby, Emerald, Coral, Regal, Royal and Discovery. My personal favorite is Discovery. Used to be Regal, but last cruise was a bit disappointing. Looking forward to Enchanted in August, she might be a contender for fave ship with addition of Rudy's and 360.
  4. WE are on the same cruise and US flight have not been ticketed yet. Not sure why?
  5. You can request early ticketing, otherwise flights will be ticketed about 60 days out (I think?)
  6. I have booked EZAir before but ended up cancelling because I found better fares independently (2019 Baltic, 2022 Caribbean and Alaska). I do have EZAir again for my current booking for August 5, 2023 cruise (Rome to Athens). The fare I have been quoted when booking is cheap for open leg Europe (about $800pp with one direct flight and only one connection for the other flight), I am hoping the flights wouldnt change too much! Current prices are twice as much for the same flights.
  7. I was not as successful with the app :(. It charged me for the embarkation day reservation at the new "Catch by Rudi" on Enchanted on my August cruise. I figured I can just ask for refund once onboard.
  8. Mine too! Works wonders for virus prevention (along with handwashing, of course!)
  9. We have tried almost all mass market lines (except for Holland) and Princess is our "go-to" with second in consideration being NCL. We have 3 different generations in our family (DH59, DW44, DS14). Reasons we choose Princess: - great itineraries with good port times - good shore excursion selection at good prices even compared to "on our own" choices. Especially lately Princess has been adding a lot of "small group" and "local connections" tours that really appeal to us - Medallion vs cruise card. Did NCL last year and I missed the wearable so much! - I actually like the plus/premier package options. With inclusion of digital pics, internet and gratuities it makes for truly "all-inclusive" experience for me - Royal Class ships. We like the size (just big enough for us without being overwhelming) and the flow of these ships. - while crew is generally nice on any cruise, we find them much more personable and fun on Princess. Especially if you chat them up "off the clock" during the excursion or bus ride. Looking forward to Regal sailing in less than a week!
  10. We are almost there πŸ™‚ Sailing on April 2nd
  11. Regal has always been my favorite, even compared to very similar Royal Class ships. Just an atmosphere on her, as soon as you step on board... We have sailed her to Caribbean 4 times, NE and Baltic, such fond memories! However, I am very concerned for my upcoming April 2nd sailing because NONE of the senior staff is the same. A lot of them were transferred to Discovery last summer and while it was great to see them in Alaska, I am bummed that they did not come back to Regal. I guess I'll see if I still like Regal after the regime change πŸ™‚
  12. I would uninstall and reinstall the app (in case you have not tried that). Good thing once you are successful getting your info in, for all future cruises it is there already, no need to go through thsi frustrating process again.
  13. I was told the same thing, both people in the cabin have to get Plus/Premier. We have 2 cabins with DH and I in each plus a kid. I bought Plus for one cabin and Premier for the other (it was cheaper to buy Plus that pay gratuities/soda package/internet separately). My plan is to ask Guest Services to switch my son with my DH on the premier package since DH will actually be staying in cabin with me. Hopefully this will work.
  14. Mac the moose is adorable! Please beware that he is larger that standard Stanley. Mac and the jacket was my exact preorder for Alaska cruise last year πŸ™‚
  15. I actually have one of them. Ordered for Alaska cruise (in case needed warmer jacket than the rain one I was bringing). The jacket will not be shipped to you, you will have to go to the shops and get one from their inventory. Sizing available is limited and not guaranteed, ie you might have to settle for different size than you ordered. I did not like the Nylon part of the jacket AT ALL, it sounds crinckly when you move, I hate that. I have not tried reversing it, but also wouldnt want to wear crinkly nylon on the inside. Long story short, dont buy it beforehand, try it out in the shops first and if you like it get it.
  16. Yes, I always but one first and than the other,. However, I have never purchased them on the app. I normally do it through personalizer on PC.
  17. We always purchase our Enclave passes online before the cruise. I just buy one and than go back and get another one. Worst case scenario, you can always just buy them on board. Enjoy your next cruise!
  18. According to my DS Princess croissants are the best in the world... and he is a well travelled teenager.
  19. Caribbean Princess is my least favorite ship. I had the same feeling after our last cruise on it. We ended up taking a cruise on NCL and now are back to Princess, but on Royal class. I am also open to other lines (looking at MSC for sure). I hope you have great cruises on Celebrity and MSC!
  20. I am a little late to the discussion. All the menus posted I quite like and I LOVE the desserts on the same page. We can now order the entire meal at once instead of waiting for desert menu and wasting time. I also very much like an option for upcharge filet/lobster since I am not a steak person and DH is. I am not a fan of Crown Grill menu (I know I am in minority here), so this gives DH an option of ordering what he enjoys while I get the variety of MDR. If truly nothing looks good on the MDR menu (never had this happen before), there is always option of a burger from the kids menu.
  21. Huh, I am looking in the Suite Benefits now and it is not listed. I was sure it was listed when I booked. It was on e of the reasons we upgraded to Suite, one less reason to do it now
  22. Thanks everyone for the insights! We are in Suite on Enchanted in August and I cant wait to try the 360! Sounds like we are almost guaranteed the invite?
  23. I have upgraded mine through Cruise Personalizer. There is a huge banner on the "payments" page that advertises the packages and lets you upgrade. We have 2 cabins for our next sailing and I have plus in one and premium for the other. We will see how it goes πŸ™‚
  24. I think we are on the same cruise πŸ™‚ We are in suite on that one, so no need to pre-book, but generally you can book ahead from the "Spa Services" menu in your Personalizer. I have Enclave booked on Regal for my April cruise already.
  25. Very excited about this! I have already booked 19 day Circle Japan with Hokkaido. Cant wait for the excursions to be released.
