  1. Unfortunately, the word got out and we were unable to make additional reservations as we would have gone more....we checked almost everyday at reservation desk and with Maitre D when Ember opened and nothing...
  2. Guess they just put them on for our 3 cruises but no matter, it wouldn't affect our enjoyment of our meals there. Glad others are not going due too negative remarks so we can go more often!
  3. Certainly understand....we ate there 4 times during our 32 day Vista cruise last November and had tablecloths every time. Perhaps they have changed.....I will check with some friends that recently sailed on Vista to see if they found the same. Food is subjective but mushy asparagus is not subjective.
  4. That is interesting as when we ate at Embers, several times, there were tablecloths on the tables. I have never seen a table in any dining facility on Oceania ships that did not have placemats or tablecloths. As to the food, your experience was also different from ours but we did not order the asparagus.
  5. Also they don't add any port taxes when they add/substitute a port....
  6. Their avocado toast was unbelievable, delicious fish tacos, yummy soups and salads, poke bowls, fruit smoothies, fresh fruit...I could go on and on. During meal times, it is hard to find a table after the first few days as people discover it. It opposite to Waves and open to the Sea (like Waves) and very bright and cheery. It is like a smorgasbord - choose something from terrace, something from Aquamar and something from Waves and enjoy it all!
  7. We were on Vista for 32 days this Fall and LOVED Aquamar. It is an actual restaurant with tables, menus and waiters taking your orders. They are open for breakfast and lunch every day. They serve more healthy options with lots of choices. Since everything is made from scratch you can mix/match, add/subtract from any order. You can order from Aquamar and they will bring it to you in Terrace, Waves and even by the pool. La Reserve is only available for those who have signed up, for an extra charge, a special wine pairing dinner a few nights during a cruise or a few times for a wine and snacks early evening (still cost if you do not have a beverage package). They were offering the wine pairing dinners in Privee on Vista so that experience is still available. Lots of people we talked to wish they would open Aquamar for dinner too! It, overall, is a much better use of the space.
  8. You'll show them!!!
  9. I believe that is occurring during the dry dock of Marina. Vista already has Aquamar in place of La Reserve
  10. You can mention this on your next cruise and, hopefully, they will make it up to you...bag is more like a messenger bag (not useful for carrying any larger items). We do like the new cruise bag we received last Fall - we now have 4 different cruise bags from O
  11. Agree - thanks for the reminder! I need to contact my TA about a sale on one of our cruises so she can reprice ....much better use of my time 🤣
  12. On Marina you have 4 specialty restaurants and the GDR to enjoy - wear it to each of the specialty restaurants and a night in the GDR....you will look lovely and appreciated by many!
  13. We enjoy the moment when we walk across the gangway to step onboard for the first time - we always stop, look at each other, smile and say "what an amazing time we have ahead and it will go way too fast"
  14. I spent less than $15,000 with this TA this year, $10,000 last year nothing the year before, etc. and this was not just for cruises,,,,,you started this conversation with "look how much I am saving" not me saying look at how much my TA does for me (and if you notice I do not put figures in for that very reason). The whole point is for people to look and use every aspect of making travel arrangements that will save them the most money which includes using a TA. Why can you not accept that your way is not the only way to book travel and save the maximum amount of $$$ - I am happy for you that you feel your way is the best , can't you be happy others have found ways too?
  15. Congratulations ! Since I haven't taken any of the same cruises you have, my numbers make no difference because they can't compare...on our upcoming B2B2B cruise (booked almost 2 years ago onboard and transferred to TA), we have rebooked cruises 3 times under varying sales plus received OBC and $$$ perks from TA and booked our own air using miles. We use our OBC which covers any drinks, excursions, etc. so have no shipboard balance at end of cruise. Happy or do you want us to be like you and list numbers for cruises that no one else can compare to make a point? Plus, I would never be so gauche to discuss what I paid for a cruise with anyone onboard or on social media to try and sound superior. Again, can't you be happy that you feel you are getting the best deal and let others, quietly, save their money too.
  16. Many have answered this question for you but some how you continue to not like the answer.....we do not spend thousands annually, do not book suites, book our own air and take advantage of O sales and our TA is happy to take our business, pass on her perks and reprice for O sales (which often she catches before we do). Done with this - you do you and others will do theirs (saving more $$$ than you profess to be a star at).
  17. Enjoy your cruise on Windstar - I am sure you will be very happy with this decision as you have been happy with Windstar before...
  18. You will find a lot of differences between being onboard with 4000 or 1200 of your closest friends - happy differences!
  19. This is true - hours are like 7AM - 10PM and locked during off hours
  20. The clothes are washed, dried and folded but not pressed. They are returned in the same bag. Plan on 3 days but we have gotten them sooner. There are also free laundry machines on each floor of Marina. I used them for my delicates.
  21. There are 2 specialty restaurants on Regatta and, depending upon your type of cabin and length of cruise, you are guaranteed a certain number of reservations at each restaurant. The number of reservations you are entitled to and the date you can make your reservations is noted on your invoice or in your account under "Manage reservations". The Grand Dining Room is open seating and no reservations. You can also check for additional reservations at the specialty restaurants daily onboard.
  22. As others have said, some people enjoy the social aspect of sharing a drink with others. It is nice that O offers both options - you can bring your own alcohol on board and drink it in your cabin/on your verandah and you can head to any alcohol serving venue any time of the day and enjoy your drink while socializing with others. We enjoy a mix of both.
  23. Nope - you still will have people who only have SM and those that have upgraded to the Prestige Beverage package so showing the card will always be necessary.
  24. The only way to avoid this annoyance is to sail on an all inclusive (everyone onboard has the 24/7 beverage package) otherwise out comes the card......
  25. your key card has a designation showing nothing, or a 3 letter code in lower right corner indicating either the Select/SM wine, beer package or the Presige package. This will continue as long as O offers 2 different beverage packages. We would set our cards on our table when we sat down so server could easily see what package we had. Also, we have had servers ask us when we placed our first beverage if we had a package. Not a big deal....
