  1. As expected, the shareholder benefit has been renewed (through 31 December).
  2. Look at the poster's profile. That should give you a good idea...
  3. Only two North American airlines were impacted by the recent issues, and everything has been back to normal for some time.
  4. Likewise, taking the prescription is also BS because there's no guarantee that the pills you have match the prescription. For short trips, it's just the pill dispenser. I take the bottles for long trips because I can't fit more than two weeks of medications in my pill dispenser. And after well over a million miles in the air, mostly international, I have never had an issue.
  5. All these cruises are also sold as 7-night, 14-night, 21-night, and even 28-night cruises. The next day is the last day for people debarking in Trieste, so no chance of a gala night.
  6. The problem is that a lot of them will call themselves specialists, but just saying so doesn't make it true.
  7. Note that most of the benefits go away if you're booking a suite. OBC is the only thing you get. I don't think I've ever seen one of the players on a cruise ship...
  8. I wasn't the OP, but I find Virgin to be too "cutesy". Names like "Sailor Loot" instead of straightforward names like OBC really turn me off. And how is anyone supposed to know if Sea Rover is higher or lower than Sea Blazer?
  9. That's the way cruises are priced in Australia.
  10. You are only asking for trouble if you depend on a cruise line to help you with legal matters like visas.
  11. No, I cannot. The option only exists for two out of three bookings.
  12. I've been looking for trips that include both of these location, and so far have only come up with one (the Oceanwide Expeditions Ortelius). Does anyone know of any other possible options? We've been on the Ortelius and enjoyed it, but I'm just trying to explore more options if they exist.
  13. I went ahead and placed the order, and now it won't even give me the option to cancel. My medallion orders for our other two trips are also messed up. I guess I have to call and have them cancel all of our outstanding orders. I won't even bother any more since we're planning on picking up at the port, which is the default if you don't do anything.
  14. We actually prefer high-end cruise lines where they don't even have photographers.
  15. Crown Grill is the best steakhouse on the water. Sabatini's is on par with Spaghetti Factory or Olive Garden. We've never done Chef's Table because the menus seem too restrictive for us - they all seem heavily geared toward carnivores (fine for me, not for my wife).
  16. As stated in the OP, it's not an app issue. I have the same problem with the website.
  17. The only way to do that would be to complete the order, and as I said, I don't want to risk being forced to pay the shipping charges.
  18. I'm checking in for an upcoming cruise and having trouble with the medallion ordering. I selected the "ship to me" option just to see how much the shipping would be. Now that I've seen the price, it won't let me go back to "pick up at port" no matter what I do. And somehow in the midst of all this, the order now shows a total of three medallions - two for me and one for my wife. There appears to be no way to remove anything from the order or to start the order anew. As the interface indicates the shipping charges are non-refundable, I don't want to tempt fate by confirming the order then canceling it. The same issue exists on the old app, the new app, and the website, so it appears to be a back-end issue. Does anyone else have experience with this issue or know how to reset the medallion ordering status?
  19. Welcome to Cruise Critic, Etzzy!
  20. Yes, that's the official policy, though I have never heard of the onboard concerge denying it. That concierge should be retrained on customer service.
  21. Note this process only works if you will get the next level based on the regular points. I hit a new level on the first leg of a B2B last year, but through a double point promo, and the onboard agent could not verify the promo (the land-based agents denied the bonus offer even existed). However, all I cared about was the extra laundry, so I convinced her to at least give me that before the double points posted to my account a few days later.
  22. I would instantly fire any agent who tried to foist insurance on me. This is when it pays to have a good credit card.
  23. I always book our air separately and directly from the airline. I do check the cruise line's fares, but it's never been worth the additional risk and restrictions that come with getting a third party involved.
