  1. And just a thank you to everyone who contributed your own experiences of the cruise. It sounds like you all had a good time. Please write a review
  2. Final thoughts as promised Cabin We had 8009, good for access to the Commodore Club🤣, Carinthia Lounge and the theatre and Illuminations. I was a bit worried about noise from the Promenade Deck but apart from our neighbours practising for a Door Slamming contest it was very quiet. There was the added bonus of people watching as well as the sea views. Not much of a view backwards and the Seas were very calm so no movement. Food and Drinks We didn't make it to breakfast in the Britannia restaurant, any meals in Kings Court or afternoon tea. We had room service breakfast every morning, either yoghurt, fruit and pastries or scrambled egg with or without smoked salmon. I tried the Cumberland Sausage but wasn't impressed. Mr HH enjoyed the Black Pudding. We enjoyed the Carinthia Lounge lunch, there's a much wider choice than the Chart Room on QV/QE with hot dishes as well as the cold platters and a nice choice of desserts. Mr HH enjoyed the variety of beer available, although Speckled Hen comes in cans, the others in bottles or draught. Itinerary This was a nice mix of port and sea days, with several new ports for us. We didn't have any early starts but there were no problems getting off the ship or back on. Dress Code There were lots of Jackets worn on Smart Attire nights and most men wore collared shirts with only a couple of polo shirts. Internet I used my phone's data in port and we shared our allowances via Bluetooth which worked well until the last sea day when MrHH's phone decided it didn't want to share 😀.
  3. You wait in your cabin and leave at an allocated time.
  4. @punkybett please don't name your travel agent in your posts. Thank you
  5. This is a more recent thread which might help
  6. I'm not sure where those figures came from but these are from the Cunard website
  7. That's been the normal process for years on a TA.
  8. The inspection was in the Britannia restaurant, we didn't have to attend. I didn't notice anyone being pulled over in the terminal.
  9. I'm so glad I posted the photo to settle the tables discussion 🤦‍♀️. Just in front of us a couple were stopped because there seemed to be a problem with their passports. There had been a few announcements about an Immigration inspection this morning. As they went to different machines it brought the queue to a brief standstill. We had purple 5 colour tags and there were very few cases left in that section so it made it easier to find ours.
  10. We tried and failed again in the Commodore Club, Champagne Bar and Chart Room pre-dinner ! Why do I always choose the cruises with the drinkers ?! Sir Samuels had the Chart Room menu out so we enjoyed the evening sunshine and a cocktail in the overflow! The other 2 tables were occupied when we arrived so we had a sociable dinner. The striploin steak was a bit easier to chew than the sirloin. I went to the Promenade Deck to take a photo of the last sunset of the cruise while Mr HH put the last case out. We went to the final show - Swing and a second helping of Mick Miller. We had a disembarkation time of 8.50 so I set my alarm for the first time in 2 weeks. We left the cabin on time, it took about 15 minutes to get off. We were collected by West Quay and taken back to the Montague Arms to collect our car and set off for home. I'll post some final thoughts tomorrow.
  11. Another beautiful sea day on board Queen Mary 2, with the added and unexpected bonus of a Stephen Payne lecture, lots of dolphins, a Boardwalk lunch and packing !
  12. I'm not sure but if you're lucky you might get Top Hat on QV.
  13. If you mean the tables with the puzzles and normal height chairs, Deck 2.
  14. I don't think there have ever been tables on Deck 3, he's on today, those were yesterday's programmes.
  15. After the excitement of the search Mr HH went to play in the Blackjack tournament (unsuccessfully). We had lunch in the Carinthia lounge again, enjoyed the pianist and escaped before the quiz started. We tried the Commodore Club again at about 7.15 and failed again ! We had more success in the Chart Room where the folk musicians were playing. We had a full set of neighbours and enjoyed a sociable dinner. The only problem, no lobster ! The prawns in the surf and turf were pretty good but I was disappointed that lobster hadn't appeared on the menu for a 14 night cruise. We are so predictable that our Sommelier already had a new bottle of white wine for us ! The last few nights we've had wine poured before water. We went to see "Broadway Rocks" and then called it a night.
  16. Unexpected speaker tomorrow - Stephen Payne is onboard!
  17. It probably varies between parts of the world. Supply chains can be difficult when the ship is a long way from their home port.
  18. Lots of flapper headdresses and also lots of people ignoring the theme - including us !
  19. Sorry that your visit clashed with Harry's but I hope you enjoyed your castle visit
