  1. FWIW- Last year we sailed in Aqua and got canapes every day. Someone on our same cruise, also in Aqua but with a different room steward was told no canapes anymore. It didn't come up until late in the cruise so they didn't bother to do anything about it. but this is why everyone has different responses.
  2. So I bought the NCLH stock this morning. The benefits request form says to send in a current brokerage statement with the form. Do I have to wait until our monthly statement comes in the mail or will a screen shot of our current holdings work? Or, do I need to call Regent to verify what to send in? Thanks!
  3. We will also be on our first Regent cruise in Sept. We have never used ship's excursions on our other cruises in the past and I've always spent hours and hours researching private excursions. One of the draws of Regent was the included shore excursions. I have some similar questions as @Georgia_Peaches. Are the small group excursions better? Also, my husband is a vegan and I am vegetarian (but we both love wine!) so, while the tour described above sounds great, our food restrictions mean I usually avoid excursions involving meals. @The Hudson Co. Landlubber - would you still recommend it if we can't eat the meal? Where is Roberto's ? (City) ****
  4. How does the Amex OBC post on your account? We currently have OCEAN FTR credit, Regent Select and Signature Travel Network credit. Are any of these from Amex? Does anyone know if these conflict with Stockholder credit?
  5. Thank you all. Years ago , on another cruise line we took the line's transportation to our hotel. They met us at baggage claim but then we were put on a large bus and waited a long time until the bus filled before we were taken to our hotel. We haven't taken cruise line transportation since then. My concern was about waiting (wasting) hours in Rome for a large bus to fill up. It sounds like things are done very differently on Regent.
  6. We will be on our first Regent cruise. As the person in the family who has done ALL of the vacation planning in the past I really appreciate the all-inclusiveness of Regent! We arrive in Rome early the morning before our cruise . My question is about the provided transportation from the airport to the hotel. We arrive pretty early (8:30 am). Will we have to wait until a whole bus fills up to go the hotel or does the provided transportation leave as soon as we get our luggage? I've already verified with the hotel that they will store our luggage until our room is ready and we want to have as much time as possible to tour Rome that day. Everyone on this board has been a huge help in answering all of my questions so Thank You in advance!
  7. Solo travelers have to pay as if there were 2 people in the cabin. So the only benefit they ever got was that, in the past, they got double cruise credits. So now, if everyone is getting double credits , they will get double their double - ie 4x. Basically they are paying for 2 people so get the credit for 2 people. Suites also always got double so those passengers will also get 4x. I would imagine a solo traveler in a suite might get 8x. 2 cruises solo in a suite would make one Elite.
  8. We have sailed for years (and I mean 10 - 20 years) in Aqua with the reclining chairs and footstools and have NEVER heard of any problems with the glass doors being broken by the chairs. There's just something really fishy about this . The more we cruise, the more time we spend on our balcony and if the reclining high back chairs are gone so will we be. It's just the final straw for me. My husband has had to be convinced to keep sailing with Celebrity for the last several years but he may just win out now.
  9. It wouldn't hurt to download and print (or screenshot) that FAQ right now in case it gets changed.
  10. I also don't understand trading 8 small,, sealed bottles that can fit in little empty spaces around the suitcase for one unsealed larger bottle. (Or even 32 small sealed bottles for 4 unsealed larger (leakier) ones.)
  11. The Op referred to a gratuities package. When something is called a package it implies to me that there is a savings over just multiplying the daily rate by the number of days of the cruise. So I am asking if there is a gratuities package?
  12. So, I've been away from these boards for a while but what exactly is a gratuity package? I know Celebrity took gratuities off the AI packages so are they now selling prepaying your gratuities as an add-on package?
  13. What kind of cabin are you booked in? (Suite, Aqua, Concierge?) Please come back and let us know if you got your lounger.
  14. I said I would report back. I just checked my Amex account. $500 Celebrity charge AND $100 Celebrity credit - both posted yesterday.
  15. Thanks! I followed your instructions and within a half hour had the confirming email.
  16. We love Princess and I was so excited for this new ship. I think that is why I'm so disappointed. And, yes, you can cancel . We did. We had 39 nights (B2B2B2B) booked on her for this fall (her first transatlantic so I'd have plenty of time to explore the new ship) and that is now canceled. We still have a short New Years cruise booked with our grandchildren, who also have loved Princess in the past. I just hope we won't all be disappointed for even that short cruise. But unless I see a big turnaround we also will be back on the tried and true Royal or even Gem class.
  17. I'm not sure I'd count on that. And, to clarify, I don't think corporate Princess are thinking through long term consequences. It seems like they're just throwing things out there to see what works and then changing instead.
  18. There seem to be SO many things on this ship that just weren't thought thru. Putting Park 19 right above the Sanctuary makes no sense. Not planning well enough to have Park 19 open for the first summer of sailing makes no sense. No shade in the (adults only) Sanctuary makes no sense. Building a restaurant (the original Reserve restaurant) that isn't large enough for the passenger load so that not even 6 months in, they have to move, makes no sense. Moving that restaurant (and the Suite restaurant) to the only area to access the popular aft pool (with the only outside smoking area) makes no sense. I just don't get it. What does come to mind is the retrofit of the Island Princess and the mistakes they only realized afterwards so that the planned retrofit of the Coral never happened.
  19. They'll be in Liverpool. You figure it out. I wouldn't expect the originals, though. Probably a tribute group. ***
  20. For at least the last ten years we've ordered fresh squeezed juice (orange and/or grapefruit) at breakfast (in the dining room) and the waiter always asks for our cabin number. This was still accurate as of Oct. 2023. We've had some form of drink package since they came out and think the fresh squeezed juice at breakfast to be one of the best perks of that package. So I'm wondering if that will still be possible or if gets tossed in cost cutting. 😢
  21. @BamaVol - Your pictures seem to be from the buffet. I'm wondering if it might still be possible to get fresh juice from the buffet instead of the juice bar. (Not the concoctions Princess advertises , just fresh juice - orange or grapefruit, etc.)
  22. So another problem with moving the Sanctuary dining room to deck 8. I'm reading several trip reports about the smell of smoke emanating from the smoking area on the Wake View Terrace . What a lovely ambience for a "sanctuary" dining room! 🤬
  23. So you're good to go. You have to sign up for the bonus BEFORE you make the payment!
