  1. We are going on the Queen Elizabeth from Melbourne to New Zealand in February 2023, they normally have 1st and 2nd sitting, however, when I logged onto our booking I noticed they now have open dining, has anyone experienced it as we are considering changing to opening dining.
  2. I'm with you we try and get obstructed oceanview, I like some natural light does not have to be a lot. We did a lot of travelling on inside cabins, however, covid I prefer to have at least obstructed oceanview now.
  3. We are looking at a cruise to Japan, there is Celebrity, Princess, Holland America and Norwegian. We have been on Princess and Celebrity, however, not Norwegian (NCL), anyone had experience with the Norwegian/Holland America line please? Or are we better to stick with either Princess or Celebrity who we are familiar with. Also if anyone has been to Japan, is Spring or Autumn better in their opinion?
  4. Good decision, whilst we enjoy P&O cruise ships, most Princess ships have a 24 hour cafe where you can get sandwiches, cakes and lovely coffee 24/7, they also have anytime dining venues which are easier to get into for dinner and choices. Accommodation if you have not been on a ship before is mid ship not too high. Hope this assists.
  5. Been a while since we cruised with P&O, we are going on a 7 night cruise in November and wondered if anyone knows or how to find out what theme nights they will have on board, e.g. white night, gatsby etc. so we know what clothes to take please?
  6. Its been a while since we cruised with P&O Australia, going on the Pacific Encounter, does anyone know if we can find out what theme nights we have on our 7 night cruise in November from Brisbane up to Queensland, I know on the shorter cruises they have a variety of white nights, gatsby, however, would be handy to know so we can plan our outfits?
  7. Hi we used the email - shareholderbenefit@carnivalaustralia.com - emailed them a few weeks ago and put in the cruise booking ship and date got an email back within 7 days with all the OBC being applied. Cruises went from November this year through to May next year.
  8. You did well, we have never bought shares before, however we bought them when they were $14 US so cost us $2300 Australian, however we have just got onboard credit equalling $750 for cruises we currently we have booked so pretty happy about that.
  9. Thank you for the advice on this topic emailed and received an acceptance of OBC for all our cruises.
  10. We booked through US TA and had no problems, I believe cruise ships have relaxed this I think due to the pandemic. Can't name the one I use which is a shame as they were really good as soon as price went down rang an 1800 number and price got reduced, also had onboard credit. US seem to get a lot better deals than us Aussies for some reason.
  11. We have booked both with TA and directly with cruise line, if you book through an Australian TA very hard to get price reduced, however, if you book directly with cruise line more flexibility in relation to price changes. That has been our experience, others may have different opinions.
  12. We have booked with Kingsford Smith Motel for November cruise and they will still take us to the new terminal, you just need to let them know when you book.
  13. I wonder what she will renamed to as looks like a lovely ship.
  14. Yes when I spoke to the underwriters they said over 76 medical expenses not included, that's o.k. for us as husband is 73 gives us a few years to use the card.
  15. Don't think we would get approved for a Credit Card now as husband retired on a pension and I only work a few hours a week. Low income?? Hence why I was looking at the NAB debit card that also includes travel insurance. Will visit bank tomorrow to see what is possible.
  16. Hi MicCanberra, I got told by a few travel insurance companies that domestic cruises are actually classified as international as soon as they leave the ports, not sure if this is something new or because of Covid. I asked the underwriters for the NAB platinum card and they said all cruises covered by credit card, even if you test positive to Covid the day before and have to change travel arrangements they are all covered to.
  17. Hello, we now have carnival shares how did you go about getting the $50 shareholder abc please, we are newbies with the share side of things.
  18. Thank you for your feedback, after waiting for nearly an hour on phone got through to the underwriters, who said yes cruising both Australia and overseas was covered as was covid 19 if you were to test positive the day before and had to change flights, only thing is $300 excess required. So I think we will probably go through the NAB debit card.
  19. Hi, I'm 65 husband 73, both healthy, getting quotes for cruising as have 5 cruises over the coming months. I am tempted to get a NAB premium debit card, however, can't seem to get a clear answer if it covers cruising. The debit card would cost $10 per month, which I think is pretty good comparing to the cost of travel insurance the cheapest I have been quoted is $1574 for the year through World2Cover. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
  20. We used to buy them the last time I contacted them, they said unable to make them anymore due to not being able to use a particular ingredient. Such a shame they worked so well.
  21. At last we are going to Bay of Islands on a Cunard Cruise, does anyone know if it is a tender checked my booking and didn't say. Also any tips of what to do or tour company recommendations, many thanks. ps going February 2023.
