This used to be DH when he was working and they got a Christmas bonus (2 weeks pay if I remember correctly). But then the nieces and nephews came, and then grandchildren, and now that he is retired he starts a couple weeks prior. Wrapping is a frenzy for a couple of days. 😳😄

Watching the annular solar eclipse.

Good morning Dailyites. 🙂 Yesterday I drove to San Diego to see friends that were there from their stop on Celebrity Eclipse. I had check all week to see the drive time and it ranged from 1hr 38min to 1hr 52min. I had to stop by work to get eclipse glasses that I forgot to bring home (they were the extras I had from 2017) so I estimated 2hr 25min (I didn’t want to be late and I always schedule a potty break). There was a bit of Friday traffic so I got there in 2hr 40min. Not bad. I then took them to La Jolla to see a friend (former in-law) which only took 20 minutes to get there. Then to Seaport Village for lunch and back to the ship. Of course we talked too long in both in La Jolla and at lunch, and I left San Diego at 3:35pm. Estimated time to get home was 3hr 40min. Got tired/sleepy part way (it was an early day) so I stopped for a 15min power nap and Starbucks. Got home in 4hr 25min (Vegas takes me less time to drive) and immediately went to bed. I knew Fri afternoon was traffic was going to be bad but I didn’t want to cut time visiting with friends. I just finished reading Wednesday’s FR&D so I’ll try to catch up on Thurs, Fri, and today. Prayers for everyone who needs them. Take care everyone.

Too cold and the fishing was terrible. Your opinion: I am flying non-stop LAX-MIA the day before embarkation. Flight is on a Saturday in December. I think I’m the first flight out at 6am. (The hardest thing will be telling DH I need to be at the airport by 4am. 😳) I think I’ll be OK especially since it’s non-stop, but I still have time to change plans. What do y’all think?

I’ve used my TA for years and have always got my shareholder OBC.

I may have some HAL stationery. 😉 I also remember the Dutch hats, white for women and blue (different shape) for men. But I was never lucky to have mine painted/decorated.

Unfortunately it happens almost very year. It’s frustrating. 😡 So much work/time goes into preparing for a shutdown. Not to mention the anxiety about not getting paid on paydays (we eventually get back pay). We may get to do this again in 45 days if they don’t pass a budget. 🙄 Congress should have their paychecks stopped if the budget isn’t passed. Then let’s see if this ever happens. (Sorry if this is too political. I understand if this post gets deleted.)
