  1. Yum - Lamb roast, my favourite, is becoming a special treat. I cooked a roast chicken which was less then $5 per kilo.
  2. French trimmed lamb cutlets weigh less than beef. When we swapped a house in London for three months, we were surprised how expensive meat was. Being big meat eaters, I was pleased to see a side of NZ lamb on special.. Only problem on taking it home, I discovered the house only had a bar fridge. We ate lamb every day. Fortunately they had a pressure cooker for the cheaper cuts.
  3. My grandmother who made the best scones used to use a glass to cut scones.
  4. There was an interesting segment on lamb marbling on Landline on ABC today - lambpro.com.au. The meat is selling for up to $100 per kilo, it is so much in demand by connoisseurs of lamb. I could see you buying it for a special occasion.
  5. The winter weather is so unpredictable. The previous cruise had two days of beautiful weather at Airlie Beach, which was their only port of call.
  6. Yes it is the unique itineraries on small ships which make their cruises so appealing.
  7. They can do a Story Bridge Adventure Climb in Brisbane from $99 in winter.
  8. There weren't any negative reviews on Coral when I looked after your comments. They were all good. I feel a mixture of good and poor comments is usually more believable. I look at reviews when I'm making travel decisions, so always put in a review to assist others.
  9. Yes I was impressed with the amount of filling in their cottage pie as well.
  10. I'm so sorry to learn of your major reaction to booster No.2. When I had my last booster recently, the nurse asked if I had any heart problems. We met originally on the inaugural Rhapsody of the Seas cruise from Hawaii. What a bummer to have to cancel all your cruises except one cruise.
  11. Yes I should try. It sounds easy enough. My friend bakes sliced bread in the oven and puts it in bottom of ovenproof dish.
  12. Have you priced Eva Air Business Class from Brisbane to Vancouver? I fly with them to London and find them a wonderful airline and reasonably priced compared to the other airlines like Air Canada. I don't like Air Canada, which are very ordinary as Les says.
  13. Looks so good, I'm going to buy one to have on standby. I make savoury mince, and hamburgers, but have never made cottage pie.
  14. $$ plus as I now fly business class overseas, which makes Australian travel more appealing since Covid.
  15. Yes I agree two single cruises, northward and southbound, with the same itinerary, don't appeal. I just like to draw attention to low or no single supplement offers. I think it was HAL which has just cancelled Denali land travel component of their cruises plus land. Passengers with cruises booked which were to join land travel weren't happy. I'd love to return one day via Alaskan Marine Highway, plus truck camper hire.
  16. I doubt she had her phone on flight mode as she is a Brisbane resident.
  17. For all solo cruisers, wouldn't if be wonderful to be offered $US299 single supplement on a 14 day Alaskan Cruise? 14 day return cruise from Vancouver to Whittier Alaska $US799, plus $US475 taxes balcony on HAL Nieuw Amsterdam, from 28 August, 2022.
  18. My friend said she didn't receive my texts sent during the last cruise until after she disembarked in Brisbane.
