  1. @BohJang Son had his stitches removed yesterday and came by to show us his head! It's looking good. He plans to submit the paperwork this week, so we'll see how that goes.

    Sorry to hear your house hasn't yet sold. I hope it won't take the 111 days your realtor has quoted; that seems like a long time, especially to be paying for 2 places.

    Enjoy retirement and don't put too much stress on yourself at first. Read those books, come on the Tribe thread and look forward to your upcoming cruise! 🥰

    @SenatorsFan Welcome back.

    I do hear you on the expense of medical on a ship. I once visited them and they wanted me to pay right away, then I was to submit to my insurance after getting home.  And you know I’m from the USA. But this was a bit ago. Just glad it was not worse!

    Thanks, Amy. It's cool here, I'm missing the heat already. 😄

    I didn't know what to expect for a cost and I'm glad it wasn't worse, too. Hopefully the paperwork goes smoothly and he is reimbursed quickly.

    That goes along with what we had on Jewel. I have been digging into the NCL schedules a little bit more this week. And I'm finding the newer ships have two comedians. I haven't seen Burton but I know his schedule well. He's a NCL/CCL guy. He's on NCL until August then basically Carnival through next March.

    We'd never seen him before. He had some good bits and interacted with the audience a lot.

  4. @figmentfreak congrats on your daughter's engagement! I love her nails.

    @mkcurran Hope you have a wonderful cruise!

    @Jamman54 were you in the DR last Thursday? We were in Taino Bay and a large Carnival ship was shadowing us that evening. We saw you in Port Canaveral Saturday when we disembarked. Keep having fun and say hi to Patti. 😊

    @MeganGC1983 I'm sorry to hear the troubles you are having with your accounts. That's no fun.

  5. Hey, Tribe! I'm all caught up. We got home last night from our 11-day NCL Jade cruise plus a few extra days in Orlando. Overall, we had a great cruise. The ship is in excellent condition and we encountered lots of great staff. The bartenders at Topsiders on the pool deck and in the Spinnaker Lounge treated us well. We had lots of dinners in the aft dining room with mostly good food and good service. The 4 of us did La Cucina; my salmon was dry but the pizzas and pastas were a big hit. DH & I did Le Bistro, no complaints. I love the Great Outdoors part of the Garden Café as there's also a bar that's not busy and it's so nice to eat breakfast and lunch outside. Weird desserts though: cheesecake with a layer cake layer, not graham cracker crust, some desserts tasted very gelatinous, ice cream only in the dining rooms, soft serve in the buffet only. We survived.

    @Saint Greg we had 1 comedian for the whole cruise: Mike Burton. He did 2 G shows the first night and 2 PG shows the last. He said he was on the whole cruise and would see us around so..? (Sorry about your car BTW). Missed my Carnival comedy nights with @BohJang!

    The weather was hot and sunny and we enjoyed the ports and the excursions we did.

    Nighttime entertainment was lacking somewhat. One night Dune was shown in the main theatre. There was plenty of karaoke, an actual orchestra that played various genres and  game shows. We saw Broadway Cabaret, which was just 5 singers, and the show Elements which was amazing. Our DIL in particular was missing more activities. The casino was super smoky; we never went in.

    A first for us: a trip to the medical centre. DS who is 6'5" and our daughter-in-law were in the dungeon of the fort in St. Thomas and he didn't duck enough and hit his head on a pointy brick. An employee gave him some antiseptic wipes and he thought all was well until he looked closely and saw the gash. Off to medical where they took good care of him. He had an x-ray, Lidocaine, 2 stitches, antibiotic cream, oral antibiotics and a follow-up the next day to check everything out and receive more antibiotic cream. Total for all this fun? $1,000 US. First they thought they could submit everything to insurance but when they realized he's Canadian, he has to do it himself. He was having the stitches removed here today.

  6. DH and I have now received 4 emails each to watch the safety video before we sail on Tuesday! Never mind we already had to watch it as part of the check-in process. The link in the email takes you to NCL's YouTube page, so they don't even know if you're watching or not. Ha, ha. 🤪

    We're flying out later today. 😁
