  1. As P&O charter several aircraft there is no reduction in cost to them if some customers don’t travel. It’s not like booking a seat on a scheduled flights. Brian
  2. Yes they do. P&O will take and issue Euros, Norwegian krone and of course sterling albeit the exchange rate is not very good except for sterling where there is no charge. In Norway it seems that everywhere accepts cards so this is the way to go. No problem then with unused foreign currency. Brian
  3. So you use your card to get cash from an ATM and use that cash to pay your on board account. Inevitably, you will have some cash left over. Much simpler to use your card on board and pay the exact amount owing. Brian
  4. Where do you get the cash from? Brian
  5. In Tenerife there is a new tramline that runs to the old capital La Laguna. It takes around 35 mins and the trams run frequently. You buy your tickets from the machine at any tram stop. https://gotenerife.net/en/tenerife-tram/ You pick up the tram at Fundacion going to La Trinidad up the hill. The tram stop is one block from the port gates walking away from the port. There are some good views as you climb up and it’s noticeably cooler at the terminus. Brian
  6. Duty free allowances are per person Brian
  7. You are now allowed 4 litres of spirits each. https://www.gov.uk/bringing-goods-into-uk-personal-use/arriving-in-Great-Britain Even so, it may not use up all your OBC. Brian
  8. It used to be the case but alas no longer. Brian
  9. This link gives you all the information you need https://ask.completecruisesolution.com/help/ext/PO/why-book-with-us/more-info-share-holder Brian
  10. There is a kids tea around 5pm in the buffet where they can meet up with their new found friends. There are usually activities after in the kids club so leaving you free for the evening. There is no restriction to them using the MDR should you prefer. Not sure if this will change with covid. Brian
  11. Works ok on my iPad and iPhone, Brian
  12. The shareholder credit is available for any future cruise you might book. For a seven day cruise you get £60 and you need 100shares. Only one credit per cabin. Brian
  13. No. Any booking qualifies. You need your booking reference and proof that you currently own 100 ( or more) shares. Brian
  14. We visited Flam two weeks ago on Iona. Brian
  15. HL have issued a report on Carnival. https://www.hl.co.uk/shares/share-research/202206/carnival-revenue-coming-back,-challenges-remain?utm_source=Silverpop&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=E00RN&utm_content=Share research&theSource=E00RN&Override=1&utm_campaign=E00RN_Share Research_Update_Holders&utm_source=AdobeCampaign&utm_medium=email&theSource=E00RN&e_cti=326174&e_ct=T&Override=1&deliveryName=DM30076 Brian
  16. You should get an auto email by immediate return confirming receipt of your application. Then later (three days in my case) you get an email confirming your credit. About three days later I got an email from my travel agent with a revised P&O invoice showing the allocated credit. Brian
  17. I booked Epicurian on Iona three weeks before boarding. I got the Peninsular discount but could not use my on board credit. Brian
  18. Well it was open last Tuesday as we went. It was very good. Tried to book again but was fully booked to the end of the cruise. We also went to the Olive Grove which was open all day. The best bargain of the lot is the chefs table. I imagined one table with about 12 people hosted by a chef. It’s not like that. There are many tables sectioned off from the self service with a menu by Marco which included beef wellington.which is not available in the main restaurants. It’s only open on Celebrations (formal) night. There is no extra cost Brian
  19. Iona departure from Haugesund delayed til 2030. Reason given - expected bad weather en route. Not sure how this will affect Southampton arrival time. Brian
  20. On board Iona. The reason for the change to Flam is weather related. Extremely bad weather forecast for Helesylt. Brian
  21. P&O employ a number of teachers over the school holidays. The advantage is that they already have CRB clearance for working with children. The teachers get a bit of a break as well so it’s win win. Brian
  22. Normally 23kg per person https://ask.completecruisesolution.com/help/ext/PO/flights/baggage_allowance Brian
  23. We are on G219 and booked Epicurean on 3June. Full payment less Peninsular discount taken on my credit card. Brian
  24. If you hold the shares as a certificate then just need to quote the certificate number. if you hold them in an online nominee account just do a screen print of your current statement redacting anything that is not relevant. You just need to show your name, current date and number or Carnival shares held. It is unlikely a dividend will be issued for some time. Brian
